Kaiden finished his carbonara slightly earlier than Renae and asked her, "What are you doing after lunch?" "I was thinking of visiting Matthew. He's one of the victims of the robbery that we've just finished the investigation on." "Oh I see..." he replied. "Would you like to tag along?" Renae asked. Renae didn't wish for him to leave her side yet. "Sure, since I have nothing else better to do."
After Renae finished up her carbonara, they walked towards Kaiden's car to head over to Jing Xi Hospital. They continued their conversation in the car, learning more and more about each other. It took them about an hour before they arrived at Jing Xi Hospital. It was pretty far from Pawradise.
Upon arrival, they had to check in to a check-in machine to qualify as visitors of the patient. This is to ensure safety of the patients. If the person visiting does not know the room number, bed number, and patient's name, they would not be allowed to enter the lift. Jing Xi Hospital has a higher security level compared to when she first visited Matthew when he was emitted.
They showed the security there their passes they acquired through the machine. Seeing that their passes were real, the security allowed them to have access to the lifts. They took the lift and went up to level 4, where Matt was at.
They walked towards Matt's room and bed to find that he was still in a coma. Renae decided to leave a message for Matthew. Renae wrote on a piece of paper 'We caught the culprits that did this to you -Renae and Kaiden-'. After which, they left the hospital.
"Wow, the weather today is great! Don't you think? ...hmm... how about going to a beach? There's one near here," Renae exclaimed excitedly. With her this eager to go to the beach, how could Kaiden say no? "Sure. Lead the way." His reply was short and curt. Not long after, they reached the beach! It had many people having picnics, building sand castles, taking photos, and on dates...!
"Come on, let's find a secluded area and chill there," Kaiden said, unconsciously grabbing her hand. Even with such a small gesture, Renae's face flushed. Her heart fluttered and a smile crept onto her face.
As they looked around, Renae spotted an area to the far right of the beach where there weren't many people and said, "Kaiden! There's a good spot." She excitedly tugged him along as she jogged towards the secluded area. Watching her small figure run with so much enthusiasm, Kaiden let out a small giggle.
"Eh? Why are you laughing?" Renae asked, turning her head around. Kaiden shook his head. "It's just you're so excited, it's kinda... cute," he said, slightly blushing. Renae didn't reply verbally, instead she hastily ran ahead. She turned around and smiled at him. "Thank you!! Now hurry up!" Kaiden obediently fastened his pace and caught up to Renae.
They ran around the beach for a while, mostly playing around. They even build a sand castle. "Woah! Who would've known that you were such a pro at making sand castles..." Renae said, admiring Kaiden's beautiful sand castle. "Well, me and my cousins used to go to the beach a lot and had many sand castle competitions. I learnt many tricks and tips from then," he replied with a small smile. "Ah... I see..."
It wasn't long before they became tired. "Let's find a place to rest where we won't dirty our clothes... how bout' the rocks over there?" Kaiden suggested, pointing to big rocks that formed a sturdy cliff. It was accessible from the pathway that led to he beach. Renae nodded her head in response. They both made their way to the cliff.
They sat at the edge of the rocks with their legs dangling off the side. Their bodies were resting but their mouths did not. They talked the whole time, until it was sunset.
"We should take a picture! The sun looks so beautiful..." Renae's eyes shimmered as she stared at the half lit sky. "Hmm... only for you." Kaiden's reply made Renae happier than ever. She quickly took out her phone and they took a selfie with the sunset as their backdrop. "It's getting late. We should head back... I'll take you home," Kaiden said as he helped Renae off the ground.
