Since they were all excited for the day of the double date to come, it.... passed by slower than ever. It was only a few days, but it felt like an eternity!
"FINALLY! School is OUT for the weekend! WOOHOO!" Renae yelled extra dramatically as she fell on her knees. "Don't do that, you'll injure your knees," Mathew said, extending a helping hand out to Renae. She took it and thanked him. "So tomorrow at 6 pm we're meeting outside the Akimitsu near the court house we went to before. Kaiden, you remember which one, right?" She asked. Kaiden nodded. "Okay, it's set then! I don't even know if I'll be able to sleep tonight," she added.
After confirming all the details, they split ways.
In the car, Matthew suddenly asked Renae, "Have you ever thought about a tattoo?" She looked over at him and replied, "Sometimes. Why?" "I was thinking about getting a tattoo but I don't know what I want it to be of and I also don't wanna do it alone," he explained. "Ah... I see. I don't mind getting one, but maybe a small one and I have to ask my parents first," she said. "It's not a bad idea though. I really wouldn't mind," she added. "Okay then. Maybe when it's my birthday."
The next day, Renae prepped herself up real good as she was excited. She normally only needed about an hour to get ready, but that day, she started getting ready 2 hours before. She even tried on perfume, a thing which was almost completely foreign to her.
"Good evening, Renae," Matthew greeted as he helped her into his car. "Damn, who gave you a free trip to heaven cause' you look heavenly..." he complimented, looking her up and down. "Oh stop it, you're making me blush.... don't stop okay," Renae leaned closer and whispered her last few words. "How can I disobey the beautiful lady whom I call my girlfriend?" He asked as he passionately kissed her without warning.
After about 5 minutes of flirting, they finally stopped and headed to the restaurant to meet with the other two.
They reached earlier than Kaiden and Cathy did, so they waited by the restaurant for them. Matthew and Renae looked so compatible that everyone who passed by them couldn't help but stare at their perfection. They were puzzle pieces which fit perfectly together.
"Matt! Renae! Good evening," Cathy waved to them as they got out of Kaiden's car. They waved back and greeted each other. After which, they entered the restaurant.
"We have a reservation for 4," Matthew took charge and spoke to the lady behind the counter. "Ah yes. Mr Rose and friends, right this way," the lady said as she led them into a private room.
"Do you already know what you would like to order?" She asked as they arrived at their table. She remembered Matthew and Renae from before. "Yes, we would like two of the lovers' specials. We'll have the..." Renae was the one who spoke this time. They were very cooperative with each other and ordered their food very quickly.
They dressed up so well that they looked like a bunch of adults, but their actions made them seem like little kids. They devoured the food within half an hour and spent the other hour talking and slowly enjoying their desserts and drinks.
"Let's go, we've been here for a long *ss time already," Matthew said, getting up. They all agreed and followed behind him as he went to the counter to pay. "Hey, let's split the cost between the two of us. Let the gentlemen pay, yea?" Kaiden suggested. "Okay," he agreed. Meanwhile, Cathy and Renae got out to get some fresh air. "Being a lady is fun. We get free food all the time because men always think that they need to pay. I honestly don't mind having the bill split between all four, but if they insist then sure. I'd like to spend lesser money anyways," Renae said before laughing. "Mmhm. I completely agree."
After some time, the two men returned and they said their goodbyes. They got into separate cars and drove off.
-Skip a few years later-
"Pun game on fire? Hmm... seems like a book Stella would like. Romantic comedy... she'll definitely likes this," Aaden murmured to himself, grabbing the book off of the shelve. Aaden. A boy with mesmerising green eyes and dark brown completely straight hair. His fringe wasn't too long and stopped slightly above his round black glasses. He gave off a half nerdy half bad boy vibe which confused a lot of girls.
Aaden read the synopsis of the book as he walked towards the cashier. There weren't many people so it didn't take long for him to pay for the books. He went there so many times that he knew which were the days there were lesser people there. He felt satisfied as he sat in the bus on the way to Stella's house.
It wasn't a long bus ride, but even so, Aaden had already gotten hooked up on one of the books and started reading it. Even while walking, he didn't put the book down. He didn't need to look to know when he reached Stella's house since Rere never failed to greet him.
"Rere! Come here... who's a cute girl?" He said while ruffling Rere's fur. "Who else could it be? It's obviously me," a female voice said jokingly. "Just kidding. There's no one else in this world who deserves that title more than our cutie pie Rere!" She continued. The girl who said that had long, not too dark brown hair which stopped a little lower than her shoulders and much darker brown pupils. Her freckles and dimples completed her uptown girl look. This girl's name is Stella, and she's Matthew and Renae's daughter. And if you haven't caught on, Aaden is Cathy and Kaiden's son.
"Hello! What have you got there?" Stella asked as she walked over and wrapped her arms around Aaden's neck. He pulled her in by the waist and landed a kiss on her lips before replying, "A few books. I got one which I think you might like. It's romance and comedy. You won't believe the name of it. It fits your personality perfectly." "Oh? Now I'm very curious to know what this book is about. Show me!" She said, slowly pulling away from him. "Wait, you should come in first. You too, Rere. Come here," she called out, her right hand a welcoming gesture while her left hand pushed the door open.
Aaden followed suit. They spent the day talking about books they read that week.
Around 20 00, two cars parked outside Renae and Matthew's house. It was Kaiden and Matthew's cars! Walking out of the car, were the four of them, Cathy, Matthew, Kaiden and Renae. In Cathy's arms was a small Pomeranian mix with a husky. They had adopted this little one from SPCA some time after they had gotten married and had Aaden.
This cute little Pomsky was currently 6 years old but she was still active and acted like a baby. Her name is Lilac, this name was chosen by Aaden as that was his favourite colour back then and still was right now. Lilac's fur was a mix of dark blue and black. In the sunlight, her fur would glow and appear really shiny. Cathy had brought Lilac over as they were heading to a dog run together with Renae and Matthew's dog, Rere.
Although Rere was much bigger in size compared to Lilac, they get along really well. Renae called out for Stella and Aaden. Stella puts a leash onto Rere's collar and out the door they went. They drove to the dog run place in their own cars and met each other back at the location again. As Stella and Aaden chatted while walking with Rere and Lilac, their parents had fun talking about their past, their good old times in school.
