Chapter 35：Grim Reaper

Kingston Apartment.

Yu Lin ring a bell on the wall and standing straight waiting for the door to open.

A few second later, Xu Nian opened the door and invited him to get inside. She just finished setting the table for dinner.

She is helping Yu Lin to take off his suit and hang it on the garment coat rack that she placed at the side of the entrance hall.

"Are you cooking today?" he ask when seeing the table already set so romantically.

"Mhm.. I'm going to River City the day after tomorrow. I don't know when I'll be back again. So let us have a romantic dinner today, okay?" she is smiling at him beautifully.

"Why are you telling me now?" Yu Lin face turns gloomy in a second.

"I know you will nag me nonstop if I told you earlier."

"Come on baby, don't ruin my mood. Let's have dinner. I'm hungry." she dragged Yu Lin to the table. Leaving with no choice, he follows her lead.

"You made these by yourself?" he ask curiously, seeing a medium rare steak at his plate and also a crème brulee as the dessert.

"Yup. I learned it when I was at US last time. My friend runs a grand restaurant there, so I happen to learn it from his chef." she explained while passing him a set of cutlery.

"Is it safe to eat this?" he forked a small portion of his steak and look at it with a knit eyebrow.

"You wanna die?" Xu Nian hold her knife and point it at him with a serious face.

He laugh before he ate his portion. They have a wonderful dinner and sometimes they laugh together for a small matter. Xu Nian take a glance at the glass window besides their table.

"Did your elite squad securing the perimeter?" she ask before sipping her wine.

"How do you know?" Yu Lin put down his knife on his plate. He already full with delicious dinner that she prepared for him.

"Baby, I know every single of your squad. How many times that I beat them up before, so, of course I know." she chuckle and wave at the team leader.

"Yeah, I almost forgot you also beat me up back then. No. You nearly killed me."

"You still hold grudge against me dear?"

"Nah.. I love you. Shall we go to bed now?"

"Eh, are you staying the night here?"

"What do you mean by 'eh'? Aren't you gonna repay me back my excitement?"

"I did, didn't I? I repay it back by making this dinner."

"You.." his face turn dark, he stand up and walk towards her. He bend his body and carry her on his shoulder as if he carrying a sack into the bed.

Xu Nian couldn't hold her laugh when she sees his face and she also didn't refuse him when he carried her.

Yu Lin undress her one by one using his right hand while other one lock her hand at top of her head. They immersed into the intimacy desire. It's been a month since the last time they having sex due to work and time that they barely had.

For Yu Lin, she is the one that he ever loved and also for Xu Nian, he is the first man that she ever touch. Eventhough they are naturally an enemy, but they honest to each other and they also love each other with their own life.

In the midst of the night, Xu Nian lay down her head at Yu Lin's bare chest. She looked at the man beside her with a loving gaze.

"You want more?" He ask while looking at her eyes.

"Spare me, please." she smile and bit his hand softly.

He chuckle when saw her cute reaction.

"Lin..may I ask you a question." she suddenly remember the thing that she want to ask him before.

"Hmm?"

"You have a shadow, don't you?"

Yu Lin curled up his lips "Of course I have. Everyone has one." he replied nonchalantly.

"Not that. I mean the one that always stay silent behind you." this time her eyes looked super serious.

Yu Lin gaze also turned cold. His face showing a complex reaction.

"How do you know?"

"I heard that your dad assign a Grim Reaper to be your shadow. But, I never sense his presence or seeing his face with my eyes." she lowered her head a little. She knew this is a private matter, since they are enemy, they should not sharing an internal information. But her curiosity beat her mind.

"He's not in your league. I know your skill is definitely higher than my elite squad, but Grim Reaper is not someone like us to know his identity. Even I don't know where he is. The only one that know him is my dad. No one knows who is he or how he looks like."

"But, what if he actually seeing what we do just now?" she bit her lips slowly.

"Is that what you worry?" Yu Lin's face turn shocked.

"Well, that's what in my thought though."

"You.." he couldn't finish his sentence. He only sighing before he tighten his embrace towards her.

They fall asleep not long after. From a far, Jack who still under cover could only look at his watch blankly.

"This brat sure know how to torture us." he mumble before he signaling his squad to change position.
