Chapter 78 Her Name

Day Six…

(Continuation of Flashback…)

Aiden immediately proceeded to the ward where the mysterious woman was sent after being examined and treated by the doctor.

He was rushing, walking with large strides. He pushed the door open and entered the room. He was surprised when he saw no one lying on the bed. Her IV drip was hung beside her bed. It looked like she removed it.

"Eh, where is she? Did she go to the comfort room?" Aiden murmured to himself. He moved his gaze from left to right, searching for the woman.

Then after a while, someone came out in the corner of the room. Aiden just felt something sharp against his neck. The woman appeared from his back, grabbing and locking his head.

Aiden froze in his post, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he gulped hard. He had never imagined that a woman would threaten him with a sharp object. It was like scissors.

"W-What a-are… you doing?" Aiden asked her in his trembling voice. He was nervous and anxious.

"Let's get out here… silently… NOW!" the woman said with urgency. She already knew that this man was the person who brought her to this hospital. But she couldn't stay here for long. She was being tracked by the enemy.

Though she was as beautiful as an angel, Aiden didn't want to die in her hands so he immediately obeyed her command. He nodded his hand and said, "Fine. Drop your weapon. I will silently follow you. I will guide you out."

The woman loosened her grip on his neck. She also lowered her weapon. "Lead the way." She weakly mumbled. Her voice was firm but hoarse as if she was still feeling unwell.

Aiden was about to step forward but he suddenly came to halt. The woman frowned, wondering why he stopped. She thought he was going to fight back so she tightened her grip on the scissors she was holding. She was ready to swing it toward Aiden's back.

However, she was caught off guard by the next word he said to her. "Are you sure you are fine now? Are you not feeling well anymore? Why do you want to leave the hospital now? The doctor is not yet done treating you."

Aiden spoke spontaneously. His sincere concern rendered her speechless. She already tried to stab him using the tip of the scissors and threatened him but he was still concerned about her health. Was he a masochist?

The woman blinked, eyeing Aiden's back with amusement. Since his back was facing her, Aiden failed to see that her eyes softened for a moment. But her expression returned to a stern one. Who knows this man was just trying to pull tricks on her. She had to be careful.

Men were dangerous fellows and she found it so hard to trust men because of her past experiences.

"I'm fine. Don't mind me. Let's leave, otherwise, I will be killed on the spot here," the woman mumbled meaningfully, pushing Aiden's back. She was referring to her enemies who were currently tracking her down.

Meanwhile, hearing her words, Aiden stopped resisting. Of course, he didn't want her to die. Though he didn't understand her words fully, Aiden could sense the urgency in her voice.

'Is she running away from someone? From whom?' Aiden pondered to himself as he started to move.

The woman was following him from behind. The two simply left her ward. Aiden was still carrying the paper bag and the basket of fruits.

"Can I just drop by the billing station to pay your bills?" Aiden asked permission from the woman. He was worried that the hospital might think that they were escaping from their financial obligation.

The woman didn't know whether to thank him or scold him. She appreciated that this man helped her out already and he was willing to pay for her treatment. But she had no time to spare.

"Do you have my phone?" She asked him. The moment she regained consciousness, her phone and her wallet were no longer in her possession. She was wearing the patient's gown.

Aiden nodded his head as a response. "It's in my pocket." He looked down, his gaze fixed on the right pocket of his pants. The woman didn't give her permission to go to the Billing Station so they continued walking toward the fire exit.

The woman was avoiding the CCTV camera in the hallway by hiding at Aiden's back. Since Aiden was taller than her, his figure could hide her face.

When they reached the door of the fire exit, the woman trapped Aiden in the corner of the wall. Aiden held his breath as the sharp object was now pressed on his lower abdomen. He was now facing her, trying to avoid unnecessary movement.

He gasped when he felt her hand sliding down the pocket of his pants. 'Damn!' he cursed inwardly, biting his lower lip. His body became tense when her hand nudged his groin momentarily as she tried to fish her phone out of his pocket. His body reacted to her touch.

The thought of the two of them being alone in that area intensified the heavy tension, awakening something inside of him.

'Fuck! Not now! Control yourself, Aiden! She might think that you are a pervert! Stop imagining things!' Aiden scolded himself in his mind.

When Aiden's breath hitched, the woman looked at him strangely. She saw him burst into sweats. The beads of cold liquid could be seen on his forehead.

"Are you scared?" The woman asked him out of the blue, trying to hold her laughter. To her, he looked like a scardy cat despite his gorgeous appearance.

'Yes, I'm scared of… losing my self-control in front of you,' Aiden thought to himself, smiling at her awkwardly. He just bobbed his head, pointing his finger at the sharp tip of scissors pressing against his stomach.

"Will you stab me? Who wouldn't be scared of that thing?" Aiden replied in a very cute manner. He chuckled and scratched his face, hiding his embarrassment.

"I'm not going to hurt you unless you will obey my command," the brave woman declared to him. She had a petite figure, smaller than Aiden's large frame, but she was still brave enough to threaten him.

"I wouldn't dare," Aiden promptly responded.

"Good!" She mumbled, staring at him with her sharp eyes.

'Uugh!' Aiden groaned inwardly when she pulled her hand out of his pocket.

The woman began unlocking her phone, still pointing the tip of the scissors in front of Aiden. She checked something on her private files. She ran a program on her phone, detecting the enemy's presence around her. She made this application with her computer-expert hands.

She was still waiting for the result when Aiden spoke out what was on his mind. "What's your name?"

*Silence*

The woman just shifted her gaze from her phone screen to Aiden's curious face. He maintained his smile while meeting her brown eyes. He was hoping that she would at least give him her first name.

"I'm Cherry… Pei," she answered him.

Aiden was at loss for words. That was very unexpected! He thought she wouldn't easily mention her name. But now, she even said her full name.

"And you?" She asked civilly.

"I'm Aiden!" He responded enthusiastically. He dropped the paper bag and was about to offer a hand to the woman for a handshake when a loud beeping tone resounded.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Cherry's expression changed into an ugly one as soon as she saw the two red dots on her phone screen. It was a locator's map. The two red dots were fast approaching toward the green dot which was Cherry's current location.

'Shit! They found me again. And they are here! I didn't expect that members of the Red Dragon Mafia could easily track me down using their technologies. I became careless! I underestimated them!' Cherry started to regret her actions. Stealing from the Red Dragon was a great risk!

"Where's your car?" She asked him again.

"In the car park," Aiden replied automatically.

"Let's go!" Cherry grabbed Aiden's hand, pulling him as they run through the stairs of the fire exit. Aiden dropped both the paper bag and the basket of fruits. His hand was now entangled with hers as they ran away going to the parking area. And that was when Aiden's car was hijacked by a beautiful woman and the chase had begun!
