Chapter 73 - Ah Yeah, Who Knew We Have That Kind Of Fate

"The government has lost to the big four families." Xia Sha murmured to herself as she watched Jian Jun walking down from the stage elegantly. She slowly shifted her eyes to where Guan Xian stand, clapping with his dignified manner for Jian Jun. 

Who knows that he has been looking at her the whole time with a fainted smile on his face. 

The four families have won the war with the government. Jian Jun runs for the mayor, but what does this mean? 

Is Jian Jun's position is given by the government as a peace offer? Or he runs for mayor because the four families wanted to control the government? 

Did it place her company in a favorable position? 

No, scratch that. How does this going to affect the Xia family now that the giant behind them loses?

What action does her family need to takes?

There are so many questions running on her mind that she needs to take another glass of champagne and finish it down in one gulp. 

"Are you thirsty?" Kai Xin is surprised. 

"I'm drowning." Xia Sha answer after put down her glass harshly.

The party carries on, but nothing interesting is left since the 'main dish' is out. 

Xia Sha's sharp eyes move from the champagne on her hand to the man sitting at the front table. She watches the capable man stood up with his annoying smirk, making his way toward her direction. 

Xia Sha remain seated while waiting for her, either knight in shining armor or executioner showing his intention.

"Are you and friend or a foe," She sharply asked with a direct manner when he takes over Kai Xin's seat. 

"Easy there, ice princess." He chuckles lowly and leans over the chair lazily. "I thought we agree on lovers' term?" 

"Changed my mind." Xia Sha said nonchalantly. 

"Why?"

"Because you are eviler than me." 

Guan Xian: "..." do you have some a villain syndrome or something?

"Do you think you can use me if I didn't let you?" He smirks. He put his elbow on the table, resting his head on his hand and smiling at Xia Sha teasingly.

Xia Sha did not answer his question. 

Indeed, she is using him right now to get rid of Ling Guang and Meng Ran. She makes Ling Guang thought the flash disk was still on Guan Xian's hand, hinting that he might put it in Jian Jun's hidden room. 

And while Ling Guang forced Meng Ran to take the flash disk, she sees Xiao Xing's mother putting something into the wine she gave to Xiao Xing. Xiao Xing tried to offer the wine to Wang Kai, but Wang Kai is too smart to be fooled. 

Xia Sha glance at Xiao Ni, and she quickly looks back at her. She smirked and gesture balcony. Xiao Ni thought it's fun to join Xia Sha's game, so she make Wang Kai fake drink the wine. 

As Xiao Xing waited for Wang Kai to get tipsy, Xia Sha told Ling Guang that Xiao Zhan wanted to talk to him on the balcony. Later, Xiao Ni once again makes Wang Kai walkout from the ballroom. 

"Where is Brother Wang?" 

"Oh, he said he's feeling tipsy. So I told him to wait for me at the balcony." 

They chatted while walking past Xiao Xing. Thus the scream from the balcony and the secret room. 

That is how ladies and gentleman Xia Sha make Guan Xian and Jian Jun kill her enemy for her. So if someone smugly asked her, "Do you think you can use me if I didn't let you?"

Her answer will be, "Yes, I am."

Guan Xian looks at her as if he is facing a fascinating five years old. He pulls out something from his pocket and plays a video for Xia Sha. "You call this scheming?" 

Xia Sha watches the phone, which now displaying Ling Guang and Meng Ran sorry states after Bryant kicks them out from the party. Xia Sha smirked and put her phone on the table too. 

"Sorry, but this is the real scheme," she proudly shows him the new article in a famous business online newspaper.

Guan Xian laughed when he sees the news. Xia Sha indeed working very past, she had led the public opinion to believe Bright Electronic had offended the big four-family. 

The HD picture of Guan's family bodyguard kicks the CEO and secretary of Bright Electronic is proof that she has come well prepared. 

Guan Xian patted her head while praising her. "Smart girl, I like you even more now." 

"Don't touch my hair!" Xia Sha smacks his hand away from her hair with a glare. Guan- Xian chuckles and but retracted his hand from her head. 

"You are not my boyfriend," She growls inwardly. But facing Guan Xian's disapproving expression, she lowly added, "yet."

Guan Xian finally smiles with a satisfied expression. Just when he wanted to ruffles her hair again, she hissed then hesitate. 

"I don't think this is right. Let's start with a friend." She shows a grin at Guan Xian. Guan Xian pressed his lips together while raising both of his eyebrows. 

"No?" Xia Sha said with a stiff smile, still showing her white teeth. Guan Xian shook his head sternly, Xia Sha subconsciously followed his movement. 

She looks like a silly puppy instead of the fierce images she likes to put out. 

"You are quickwitted. I like it. But baby, that isn't how you scheme. This is how you do it," Guan Xian took Xia Sha's phone to add his private number. 

In a mere second, Xia Sha heard a text notification from Guan Xian. Xia Sha furrowed her eyebrow when Guan Xian waves the phone playfully in front of her face. 

Xia Sha seizes her phone from his hand with a frown. 

"A contract?" She gives a suspicious look at Guan Xian. Guan Xian shrugs his shoulder while smiling happily. 

"I told you, I'll catch you if you fall. You got my number now, call me tonight. Girlfriend." Guan Xian left her with a wink as she still pondering on the file he just sends.

Xia Sha read the whole clause then close her phone. She looks in the direction where Guan Xian just left with a disbelief smile. 

When she prepared to go home, she found out that he has sent her another text. 

My Handsome Boyfriend: Do you like my gift?

My Handsome Boyfriend: Don't forget, tomorrow is our first day.

Xia Sha could help smiling when she read his narcissistic name over and over again. 

Xia Sha: Well...

Xia Sha: It's okay. 

My Handsome Boyfriend: I knew you were lying~

My Handsome Boyfriend: But that's okay, I'll prepare more surprises for you. Just wait for me ^^

Xia Sha smile subconsciously rose. She didn't realize this, but Xiao Zhan did. 

"What makes you so happy?" he asked with an enthusiastic face.

Xia Sha is stunned for a moment when she sees Xiao Zhan's genuine smile. Her heartfelt tingle of pity. It's not like she didn't aware of his feeling for her. But she has no way to return his feeling. Now that she somewhat in a relationship with Guan Xian, she should at least, tell him first, right?

"Ready to go home?" he asks. 

Xia Sha nodded her head and followed him to his car. The road to her hotel only takes twenty minutes without traffic. Before going down, she takes a deep breath and looks toward Xiao Zhan with a serious face. 

"Xiao Zhan," she called his name with a heavy heart. 

"Hm?" Xiao Zhan hasn't aware she is going to shot his heart to death. 

"I want to tell you something." She lowered her gaze. Xiao Zhan, who still busy turning off the car engine, slowly looked up to her. Xiao Zhan's felt her 

"Is this about work? we can talk tomorrow." Xiao Zhan cut her off before she could say something. No, he didn't want to hear this yet. Please, he needs more time...

"Xiao Zhan, I think, I want to try a relationship with Guan Xian." Her soothing voice felt like a sharp knife that hurting his eardrums before it travels right to his heart. 

His throat bobbed up and down as he tries to surpass the excruciating pain in his chest. He tries to smile even though his lips couldn't curl up anymore. 

"Why?" he asked under his breath. 

"What do you meant by why?" She furrowed her eyebrow. 

"Yeah, why you choose to date him? Is it to save the company? Because you need his power or money? His influence? There must be something you need from him, right?" 

Xia Sha let out a surprised gasp when she heard his long train of question. She blinks several times in disbelief as she let out a cold chuckle. 

"Wow, I don't know that I'm that opportunist in your eyes," Xia Sha throws her hand in the air. Disappointment starts to take over the anger she obtain in her eyes. 

"Xia Sha-" Xiao Zhan regrets saying those unimportant words. Xia Sha waves her hand in front of him. She shook her head, gesturing him to stop trying to comfort her. 

"You are right. I might be an opportunist, scheming, and sometimes a bitch. I won't get offended because I realized, I have those traits in me. I'm not ashamed of it either." She shrugs her shoulder lightly. 

"You asked me why I wanted to do this, right? You wanted to know why I choose him over you?" She is so direct that Xiao Zhan felt she is suffocating him with her straightforwardness. 

"I'll tell you why. I like him, and the fact that he could provide the power that I need makes me like him more.. There you have it."
