Chapter 98 - What Exactly Is Your Motive?

"Aiya Aunty, it's too much trouble." 

Guan Xian's mouth keeps saying those words, but he willingly gets pulled by the considerably weaker woman than him. 

"Aish, what trouble? Your mother is a good friend. Come in, Come in," Shen Xia Fei, the beautiful mother of Xia Sha, shoved Guan Xian inside their big house.

Guan Xian is more than obligate to sit in Shen's family living room, where Shen Ao Tian and Uncle Shen were playing chess quietly. He greeted the two of them with his cheerful smiles. 

"Aiyo Second Shen, you are going to lose," he said after observing their chess piece for a second. Shen Ao Tian rolled his eyes at him and merely continue his strategy.

He blended into her family so naturally that Xia Sha slightly felt like she is the outsider instead. 

"Guan Xian!" Uncle Shen exclaims, looking surprised at the honorable young master, who sat on his sofa with a wide grin over his face. Uncle Shen then glances slightly at Xia Sha with an 'understanding' smile. 

"Boyfriend duty?" He asked in a teasing tone. 

Guan Xian laughed at Uncle Shen's jokes and but didn't refute them. Instead, he looks quite satisfied to be called Xia Sha's boyfriend. 

"Dad, you are giving in too easy. He is still in the middle of pursuing," Shen Ao Tian joined the fun while smiling at Xia Sha slyly. Xia Sha replied to him with a sharp glare. 

"Second Shen is right, but uncle Shen is not wrong either. I'm Xia Sha's boyfriend." 

His proclamation got Xia Sha to widen her eyes and wanted to smack his back. Not only Xia Sha, but everybody who heads Guan Xian would felt great waves of shock. 

"You wish!" 

Xia Sha instantly walks over to him, her hand on her hips, indicating that she is angry got Guan Xian scared. 

"I meant boyfriend with space between boy and friend. You misunderstand me!" He quickly corrected his words.

Uncle Shen laughed, Shen Ao Tian smiled, Xia Sha face fell. She hissed at Guan Xian with a sign of warning. Guan Xian gives her an innocent smile as if he is saying, 'What? I didn't say anything wrong.' 

"Be careful of that little space," Shen Ao Tian warned the crafty Guan Xian. Guan Xian turned to Shen Ao Tian with a wary face. 

"That little space is call, friendzone." 

Shen Ao Tian got Guan Xian eyes flares up and went on denial phase. 

"Impossible," he claimed and turned to Xia Sha with a fake smile. 

"You wouldn't do that. You can't be that cruel, right?" He asked Xia Sha warily. 

Xia Sha, who felt their conversation is stupid, didn't want to answer him. She rolled her eyes and walked away from the living room. Guan Xian looks at her back in disbelief. 

"Xia Sha! you are too much if you do that to me!" he half-shouted in despair. He genuinely sounds worried when everybody knew he is merely joking. Xia Sha is secretly giggling while Uncle Shen and Shen Ao Tian laugh erupted in the living room. 

After changing into comfortable wear, Xia Sha went downstairs again with a mission. It is to send him home. Or using direct words, she wanted to kick him out. 

She has prepared a few reasons as she walks to the living room. But everything vanished into thin air when she sees Guan Xian sit in one of the chairs in the dining room. He is talking business with uncle Shen while drinking her mother's black sesame soup. 

"Xia Sha, mom made a black sesame soup to warm your body. Have some," Shen Xia Fei appears from the kitchen door and spotted Xia Sha at the dining room entrance. 

"I'm still full," Xia Sha answer her mother while walking to the chair across Guan Xian. His attention falls on the bowl the whole time. He didn't even bother Xia Sha's presence at the moment. 

Xia Sha was rendered speechless. 

"Aunty, this is the best black sesame soup I've ever drink in my life. Are you sure you don't want to open a dessert shop?" 

Shen Xia Fei laughed at Guan Xian's flattering words. She shook her head with big smiles, clicking her tongue at Guan Xian as she unmasks Guan Xian's word. 

"You are trying to please me to steal information about my daughter again. Ckckck." 

"Aunty! It's a secret between us." Guan Xian protested then playfully pointed at Xia Sha with his pointed mouth. Another round of laughter comes from her mother and uncle Shen. 

"Mom? Are you selling your daughter too now?" Xia Sha said coldly. Guan Xian could see that she gets pissed off at him by the way she glares. 

"Oops, I better get going. Auntie will pack some black sesame soup for you and your family."

Shen Xia Fei saves her life from her daughter. 

"Don't blame your mother. Look at the way your pursuer steals your mother's heart with his honeyed words," Uncle Shen glance at Guan Xian then raised his hand as if he is telling Xia Sha a secret. 

"You should be careful." 

"Uncle, you let this dangerous man sit at your dining room. You are the one who is more careless than me." Xia Sha playfully answers her uncle. 

"Ay, he has no motive for me. But he does have a clear motive for you." 

Uncle Shen answer and Guan Xian shamelessly nod his head. 

"I do have a motive for you. You should be careful." 

Guan Xian nods his head slightly, slurping his bowl after talking. It seems like the food is more important than her right now. Xia Sha didn't know how to react to this. Should she be happy or sad? 

"But we don't have to worry for too long. Because I'll get myself a husband to protect me soon, right Guan Xian?" 

Xia Sha curled her lips into a fake smile as she kicked Guan Xian's leg below the table. Guan Xian jolted from the kick and her word. He put down his bowl dramatically and look at her with amusement. 

"Xia Sha, you are amazing," he praised. 

She didn't need more explanation from his ambiguous words and directly found the meaning he hinted behind. Marvelous! His son and daughter are guaranteed to have a high IQ like their mother. 

"Of course I am," Xia Sha felt her face paralyzed for faking a smile too long when her blood began to boils.

What? Why does he look so happy? Don't tell me he wanted to shove her to the wedding altar with Xiao Zhan?! This bastard! 

She should have known all his sweet words and action were a facade!

"You agreed?" he asks for a measurement. 

"Of course, do I have a choice?" she said in a 'duh' tone. A clear frown is pestering her face right now. 

But Guan Xian couldn't be bothered by her grumpy mask. He keeps smiling like a fool as if he just won a lottery. He couldn't believe it, she actually agreed with his plan!

Uncle Shen and Shen Mu Qing, who accidentally hear the noise in the dining room watched Guan Xian jumped from his chair run to hug Xia Sha. He pulled her into a half-arm length hug and jumped in a circle. 

Confused and didn't expect his response, Xia Sha let him move her body around.

"Dad, what happens to them?" Shen Mu Qing mutters lowly, didn't want to get dragged into whatever Guan Xian and Xia Sha is doing. 

"Xia Sha said she got herself a husband to protect her. Judging from Guan Xian's response, I think he is the future husband of your cousin." Uncle Shen observes quietly from his seat. 

"What? But it's too fast!" Shen Mu Qin said.

"I can't believe this! It's happening too fast!" Guan Xian said. 

Both Guan Xian and Shen Mu Qing exclaim at the same time. They stare at each other with the same amused expression. 

Xia Sha's face darkened. She couldn't take this anymore.

"STOP!!!" She shouted and stopped him from jumping around. 

Guan Xian eventually stopped with a grin and blinked at her innocently. 

"Tell me what deal you made with the Xiao family? Huh? How can you do this to me? I tried to trust you!" She got furious at him. 

"Deal with the Xiao family?" Guan Xian tilted his head, doesn't quite understand her words. 

"Did they send you over to persuade me to marry Xiao Zhan?!" Xia Sha snaps. 

She could hear everyone gasp after she stripped off Guan Xian from his lie. Guan Xian's silly grin slowly washed off into a flat face. 

"What?! You are marrying Xiao Zhan?" he sounds devastated. 

Silence filled the Shen's family dining room for three seconds before Guan Xian erupted into laughter. 

"What did you said? the Xiao family send me to persuade you? That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard this year!" 

Xia Sha frowned at his mockery, but more concerned about the meaning behind his words. She scoffed at him and harshly asked, "Then, what is it about? You told me to marry Xiao Zhan, what exactly is your motive?" 

Guan Xian rests both of his hand on his shoulder, drawing her closer so nobody could steal her gaze away from him. With a sign of hopelessness, he took a deep breath and finally told Xia Sha about his hidden plan. 

"I asked you to marry him, but register your name under my marriage certificate book."
