Chapter 145 - Getting Arrested Is One On My Bucket List

Xia Sha saw Director Tan Kun lying on the floor via the monitor and the stunned Ruan Jing Tian. She raised her eyebrow. 

"You also didn't see that coming, don't you?" she asked in a dubious tone. 

Ruan Jing Tian turned his head slowly to Xia Sha. He shook his head, providing the truth. 

"Never in my wildest dream, I knew she could kill someone so quietly." 

If he knew it before, he won't be so careless and act accordingly. The words he said about his ideal type before, that girl must've heard it. Does she felt offended? Will she come back to haunt him? 

Xia Sha let a long sigh and jumped to the bed. Soon, the police officer she has informed before would come to arrest Director Tan Kun. After hearing about his connection with a few police heads in the city, Xia Sha decided to thicken her skin and borrow Guan Xian's network and power. 

Yes! She asks for help from Wang Kai!

Her legs still tremble whenever she remember this moment. 

A lot of things have happened tonight. Although Xia Sha's little victory against Director Tan Kun had made her day better, the information he leaked remains a big hole in Xia Sha's mind. 

Why is the Zheng family support director Tan Kun? Do they involve in drug syndicates? But what more, does Yan Xi and Kai Xin's accident has something to do with Zheng Shuang or the Zheng family? 

The same problems also linger on Ruan Jing Tian's brain. The spacious hotel room filled with silence as two of them calculating the probability of so many factors. 

It was until Xia Sha's phone rang loudly and distracted their train of thought. But the nosy voices started to get overwhelming when they got mixed with the knocking sound from outside. 

Both noises sound demanding. 

"Pick up your phone. I'll open the door," Ruan Jing Tian walked to the door. 

Irritated, Xia Sha reaches out for her phone with a frown on her face. The frown got deeper once she sees series of unknown numbers on the screen. 

Xia Sha almost slides the green button to answer the call when a loud shout stops her finger from moving. 

"Don't pick up the call!" 

In front of the door, her silly bodyguard that keep guarding Zheng Shuang's apartment stood still. They wear a fierce expression as their gaze alighted with the unfriendly look. This rough temperament and aura seem to be one hundred and eighty degrees different from Xia Sha's memories. 

Xia Sha's ringtone vibrates all over the corner as everyone pressed their lips into a straight line. After Xia Sha recovered from her shock, she realized how rigid Ren Wu and Tu Yu look right now. 

"What happens?" she directly asked after sensing something amiss from their sudden appearance. 

"Police is coming here. Someone leaked all drug consumers of Tan Kun. Somehow there is sister-in-law's name on the list. Big Brother Guan is unreachable now, but our leader has ordered us to help you escape," Ren Wu said seriously. 

It's like a bolt had hit Xia Sha's hard. All of her nerves tensed. Ren Wu explains his plan to take Xia Sha to escape from the hotel, but Xia Sha shooked her head. 

"I can't do that. My good name and company reputation are at stake. Since they dare to arrest me, then the Police must have legal permission to do so. I can't escape like a coward." 

"But-, sister-in-law, you could go to jail because of this. It's better to escape now and come to the police station with your lawyer tomorrow," Tu Yu gives his insight. 

Tu Yu's idea is an effective way for this moment. However, there are big chances Ruan Jing Tian would be involved as her partner tonight. She doesn't want to drag Ruan Jing Tian down with her. 

"No. I'm going to face it," Xia Sha looked at Ruan Jing Tian with an unreadable face.

"When does the transaction took place? If it's tonight, we have some footage to prove that we are innocent," Ruan Jing Tian tried to use rationality. 

He was as anxious as Xia Sha as he stares at Ren Wu intently. 

They have eyes and proof everywhere for tonight. At least it could help Xia Sha in the court. She doesn't have to spend nights in jail or having Xia Sha's name tarnished. 

"There is no your name in the list. They probably don't even know what happens tonight. It just someone leaked everything in a forum, and it blows up to the public." Tu Yu explained coldly to Ruan Jing Tian. 

"Whatever it is. I could not escape this situation right now. I need to go with the Police and solve this problem. However, you, Ruan Jing Tian, need to go. I barely save myself, don't add my burden-"

"FUCK! Why did you keep doing this to me?" Ruan Jing Tian yelled angrily at Xia Sha. 

"Ren Wu, help Ruan Jing Tian escape. Tu Yu, come with me," Xia Sha disregards Ruan Jing Tian's anger and decisively makes an arrangement. 

Ren Wu is not happy with Xia Sha's order. But he is trained to be professional and loyal. If his sister-in-law has arranged something, he believes it would be the best for everyone. However, he needs his sister-in-law to understand something. 

"I listen to you since I believe big brother Guan's word. He said you are a smart and responsible woman. You are capable of saving yourself. Sister-in-law, please don't crush my faith for Big Brother's Guan valuation!" Ren Wu shouted before he pulled Ruan Jing Tian together with him. 

Ruan Jing Tian's eyes flares open. He hasn't stop cursing and yelling at Xia Sha when Ren Wu drag him out of the room. Ruan Jing Tian is not weak, but Ren Wu is just more powerful. He pulled Ruan Jing Tian as if he was a little monkey under the panther's care. 

Xia Sha was left alone with Tu Yu after they leave. 

Affected with Ren Wu's last word, Xia Sha calmly turned her gaze at Tu Yu's cold face. 

"Guan Xian said that?" her eyes filled with doubt. 

Tu Yu is steadily guarding behind the door. He didn't say anything but nod his head as his answer. Xia Sha is lowered her head and stare at the hotel carpet. 

Smart, Responsible, and capable of saving myself. So that is what Guan Xian has thought about me, Xia Sha thought. 

Deep inside, she was happy to hear Guan Xian's assessment of her. 

They always met when something unfortunate happens to her. Somehow, Guan Xian appears every time she needs helps. He has slowly become her silver lining, and she hates herself for that. 

She does not wish to depend on him for help. 

She doesn't want him to think she is just another damsel in distress, even though she appears to be one every time he is around. 

So when she heard Ren Wu's words and Tu Yu's confirmation, she secretly felt relieved. And that feeling hardened her heart and soul. She found herself calm and composed when the Police knocked on her door. 

"Miss Xia, I am arresting you under suspicion of drug possession. You have the right to remain silent. If you waive these rights and talk to us anything you say may be used against you in court. Do you understand this right?" The officer sternly approached Xia Sha and put a cuff around her wrist. 

Accompanied by Tu Yu on her side, Xia Sha walks to the appointed car calmly. The camera flash, who turned her into an envious goddess, suddenly turned into her predator. The mouth that smiles and praised her earlier had turned into a mocking scowl. 

Xia Sha smirked. She keeps her back straight and walks elegantly. There is no trace of remorse or regret on her face. Not even when she saw Xia Xiang rush to run away from the crowd. 

"Miss Xia, how can you defend yourself?"

"Miss Xia, is there a wide drug syndicate hidden behind the Xia Corporation? 

"Miss Xia, don't you felt ashamed? You are a disgrace for your father and mother!" 

"Miss Xia, did Young master Guan knew about this?" 

Xia Sha remains numb and silent throughout the waves of question. She slid into the car and sat still inside. The Police soon disperse the mass of humans and drove Xia Sha to the police station. 

They sent her to wait in a small room. Xia Sha sat on the chair, posing a beautiful posture as she closed her eyes. Unbothered. She did not even react when someone enters her room and sit in front of her. 

"Hah, I underestimate your pride. You still acted all might and high. Even in this situation," Xia Sha's visitor said in a mockery tone. 

Xia Sha did not react to that person, even though she recognized her voice. 

"Who would have thought there would be this day someday, A day where the stupid Meng Ran beat Xia Sha in her game. It's such a pity you have to bear such big consequences for your loss. Spending your life in jails. How unexpected twist and turn of Xia's family beloved princess."

Xia Sha's eyebrow twitched after she heard Meng Ran's provocation. She slowly opens her eyelids and revealing her arrogant eyes. Meng Ran smirked upon watching Xia Sha's reaction. 

But her smirk slowly dispersed when Xia Sha grin. That grin got wider and intimidating as she replied, "Don't you knew that getting arrested is one on my bucket list?"
