Ji Fanyin’s left eyelid was twitching when she woke up.

However, operating under the principle that ‘whichever eyelid twitches is the one that represents good luck’, she paid it no heed and began her morning exercises.

As Bai Zhou insisted on fetching her from her residential area, she was spared the trouble of leaving home early.

She ate her breakfast while leisurely typing out a movie review. Then, she looked through her inbox and dealt with some work emails from her filmmaking studio. Last but not least, she sent a huge red packet to the studio’s staff group chat, which won her a flood of ‘Thanks boss!’.

It was only after these that she started changing her clothes and doing her make-up.

Her left eyelid was still twitching nonstop, as if it was warning her about something. Not one to believe in superstition, she left home without any hesitation.

Thanks to two suc… No, I should call them ‘extended clients’ instead; I am earning 30 million dollars from Bai Zhou for a day’s work. How could I cancel the reservation over a mere twitching eyelid?

Not to mention, Mrs. Bai even invested a huge amount of money in our filmmaking studio. She would have been a VIP18 gamer if this was a game, entitled to special privileges.

Ji Fanyin made her way to the northern entrance of her residential area, expecting to see Bai Zhou and his funky motorcycle.

… Her prediction wasn’t wrong. She just didn’t expect to see an additional dark-blue Audi parked beside the motorcycle, as well as a Song Shiyu standing next to Bai Zhou.

It could be seen through their expressions that they weren’t having an amicable chat. Barely after exchanging a few words, Bai Zhou had already grabbed Song Shiyu’s collar, ready to start a fight.

Ji Fanyin’s footsteps screeched to a halt. She found the situation troublesome to deal with.

How should I put this? I was already mentally prepared that such a situation could occur when I removed Song Shiyu from my client list. I knew that Song Shiyu wouldn’t give up that easily, so I needed someone to keep him in check.

But that person shouldn’t be of the opposite stance to him, so definitely not Bai Zhou. I need someone who shares a common interest with him to some extent, someone like…

Having yet to figure out a solution to deal with this mess, Ji Fanyin directed a cursory look at the surroundings.

It was a Sunday morning, so there were huge crowds moving to and fro the residential area. Many of the passers-by were sneaking looks at Song Shiyu and Bai Zhou. The ruckus they were causing was one thing, but that was two dashing hunks standing next to each other. It was impossible for them not to draw attention.

However, Ji Fanyin sharply spotted a familiar silhouette in the crowd not too far away—Ji Xinxin.

She was standing alone under the shade of a tree, just around twenty meters away from Song Shiyu and Bai Zhou. However, those two men didn’t seem to have noticed her presence.

Ji Fanyin, with her 1.5 vision, could see that Ji Xinxin was staring hard at the duo, her usual feigned smile nowhere to be seen.

Oh. That simplifies matters.

Ji Fanyin chuckled to herself. She whipped out her phone and made a call to Ji Xinxin as she started making her way to the residential area’s entrance.

Ji Xinxin’s phone rang right away.

Ji Fanyin saw Ji Xinxin jolting in horror in her peripheral vision. She found it a pity that the latter’s ringtone wasn’t particularly loud.

If it was a bit louder, Bai Zhou and Song Shiyu might have just noticed her. Oh well, it doesn’t matter.
