A group of people happened to enter the office at that moment, and one of them was Chen Yunsheng. As a result, Bai Zhou and Chen Yunsheng’s eyes met.
Bai Zhou looked at Chen Yunsheng and said, “Let’s have a chat.”
The other colleagues who bumped into Chen Yunsheng in the elevator were intrigued by this unusual interaction. They halted their footsteps and stared at the two youths in astonishment. “Hm? When did the two of you become so close?”
Chen Yunsheng glanced at Ji Fanyin’s office and noticed that the door was open. Then, he turned his gaze back to Bai Zhou and nodded. “Sure.”
The other colleagues stared in the group stared at their departed silhouettes and casually remarked amongst themselves.
“They are really tall.”
“And handsome too. They can totally debut as a duo.”
“I don’t know why, but this really reminds me of those cliché idol drama scenes where the male lead and the second male lead confront each other one-on-one in private…”
Only the motorcycle fanatic in the group expressed his utmost grief. “What happened to Bai Zhou’s helmet? How did it get so badly dented? That helmet costs at least a few hundred thousand dollars! Who in the world destroyed it!”
Ji Fanyin noticed the two youths leaving together from her office, but after some thought, she decided to leave them be.
… Bai Zhou has matured considerably from before. He wouldn’t resort to violence for a relationship that has never been confirmed in the first place.
Just then, Ji Fanyin’s phone chimed.
She glanced at her phone and saw that it was a message from Zhang Ning, asking her for updates on Bai Zhengye. Thus, she picked up her phone and dropped Zhang Ning a call.
“Mr. Bai did drop by but we didn’t talk much. We ended up bumping into Bai Zhou at the entrance of the studio, and he got berated from the start to the end.” Ji Fanyin leaned against the office table as she recounted the events to Zhang Ning. “I had a chat with his secretary afterward. He was indeed planning to buy the studio for Bai Zhou to try his hand.”
Zhang Ning snickered. “They would have to get my approval for that. What happened after that? I’d assume that he has already left since you called?”
“We didn’t talk much,” replied Ji Fanyin nonchalantly. “His son seems to have put him in place.”
A thought popped up in Zhang Ning’s mind. “Now that I think about it, Madam Meng’s investment in the studio…”
“His secretary is aware, but Mr. Bai himself doesn’t seem to know of it.”
Zhang Ning was amused to hear that. “Well well, looks like there’s a good show coming up. What happened next? Did they give up just like that?”
“I fired Bai Zhou,” Ji Fanyin replied.
“Pu! You really fired him? On what basis?”
“What reason do I need to fire an intern who has only been here for a day?” replied Ji Fanyin.
“Oh~” Zhang Ning dragged out that single syllable. “Youngsters of his age tend to be very stubborn. Are you sure that you’ll be able to end things with him just by firing him?”
Ji Fanyin took a look outside.
Chen Yunsheng was already making his way back into the office, but Bai Zhou wasn’t with him. Sensing her gaze, Chen Yunsheng tried waving at her, to which, she responded with a raise of her coffee mug.
A smile broke out of his lips, and he headed over to his seat.
Ji Fanyin then replied to Zhang Ning’s question, “I’m certain Bai Zhou won’t be coming back.”
Bai Zhou only had two options.
He could either acknowledge his mistakes and disappear from Ji Fanyin’s life, or he could continue to stick around and pester her. The only problem was that if he chose the latter, it would signal that he didn’t understand what his mistake was.
“What a pity.” Zhang Ning sighed. “Putting aside the potential investment from the Bai and the Meng Family, Bai Zhou was at least a handsome lad.”
Are there any lack of good-looking people in our industry? Ji Fanyin rebutted in her mind.
Though she did agree that it was a pity too.
Not due to Bai Zhou’s looks, of course, but the loss of her three-pronged income.
