Chapter 178 - Ambush (1)

Long Ying hugged her back and adjusted their position on the bed. "Rest now, Yan'er. Tomorrow will be another new day."

"En." Pressing her head closer to Long Ying, Yu Yan found a comfortable position within his arms. She just wanted to stay near him and naturally will do whatever she could to stay within his arms.

It was a bit uncomfortable for Long Ying to have a cat like wife in his arms, snuggling so close to him without realizing the effect she had to his body. He sighed but he restrained his feelings because he knew that it was not the right time for him to do anything.

As he started to drift to sleep, he noticed that Yu Yan kept on staying close to him. It was as if she couldn't sleep properly without him being near her. Her small head was close to his chest as she hugged him tightly, searching for his warmth.

Long Ying smiled lightly and slowly managed to fall asleep.

The next day, Long Ying and Yu Yan headed to the base once more. Yu Yan still could remember the incident by the night before and felt a bit embarrassed when she thought of how she kept on clinging on him like a koala. That was really embarrassing.

Thankfully, Long Ying didn't bring the matter up again. 

"We're here."

Yu Yan looked at the base in front of her and felt a bit strange. The number of people who were roaming around the area had been greatly reduced. It was as if there were not many people who were around and naturally, it meant that the security was laxer than before.

"We'll stay here?" Yu Yan asked.

Long Ying nodded. "Mr. Kira and Mrs. Lisa are inside."

"Oh."

Not saying anything else, Yu Yan walked out of the car and entered the building in front of her with Long Ying following behind her. He kept half a step behind her as if protecting her from behind. This position allowed him to move faster if there was someone who attacked Yu Yan from behind and also from the front.

He would never let anyone harmed Yu Yan. 

"Boss!" An Lin opened the door for them.

"You're finally here." Kira was inside. In front of him was a go board. "Accompany me to play for a bit."

"Sure."

Yu Yan was speechless. Upon seeing that they did come here to play and even Lisa was carrying a box of toys, Yu Yan was speechless. Did they come here to play with children?

"I originally want to bring some game to play with you but I don't know what you'll like, so I end up taking this box with me." Lisa scratched her head. Her hair fluttered lightly as she caressed it. 

Looking at the items at the box, Yu Yan resisted the urge to throw the entire box out of the window. Contained inside the box was some dolls, car models, and some other toys that children usually played with. There were even some puzzles that children usually played to train their memorization and thinking. 

She wanted to play this with her? Did she think that she was still a toddler?

Rubbing her forehead, Yu Yan took out her phone. "How about if we play some online games. There are some popular games recently out there that you might be interested in."

"Hmm, I would rather play with this…" Lisa muttered and Yu Yan's lips twitched. Did Lisa had some problems in her childhood to the point that she wished to play those games even when she was already an adult? However, she chose to pretend that she didn't hear anything because she didn't want to be placed in an uncomfortable position.

"Let's play."

"En."

The sound quickly died down as they were busy to play with each other. Yu Yan was still thinking about the trap that Long Ying mentioned before but she couldn't think for long because Lisa had already made her focused on the game completely.

"Hey, move! You're blocking my way!"

"Ah, sorry."

"Geez, your ranking is quite good but why do you play so carelessly this time? Play better, I don't want to lose so quickly."

"I will…" Yu Yan had no other choice but to pay close attention to the phone in her hand. She continued to game while listening to Lisa spouting some words to urge her to move from here to there or some other location.

'Hmm….?'

All of the sudden, Yu Yan felt that there was some kind of pressure. It was at this time that Lisa suddenly pulled the blanket that was already prepared on the sofa where they were sitting.

Bang! Prang! 

Covered by the blanket, Yu Yan could barely make out the sound of glass shatters followed by the sound of gunshots. She was stunned. It happened right when she was completely relaxed to play the game with Lisa and yet the other party was capable to react in time.

It was as if this was something normal for Lisa that her body moved instinctively even when she was relaxed. 

Swish!

The blanket was whisked to the back and Yu Yan took out her gun. Looking at the front, her eyes narrowed. Both Kira and Long Ying were no longer in their place and the go board was still intact but the chairs were completely destroyed. It was easy to say that there was nothing that remained from the two chairs.

Lisa was also holding a gun and squatted by the sofa. She pointed to the back with her other hand carefully and mouthed, "They're over there."

"Ok," Yu Yan mouthed back to show that she understood. 

Yu Yan eyed them carefully from the gap. She was making sure that she was careful as her heart felt like it was beating so hard that it would burst. It was not every day that she would be placed in such dangerous situation where even a single mistake might cost her her life.

"Go."

Bang!
