Long Ying's idea of fresh air was the nearby mall in City A. He knew that women like shopping and Yu Yan was not an exception. As soon as they stepped inside the city, it was clear that Yu Yan's eyes lit up almost immediately and she began to stroll to look around.
"You can buy anything you want."
"I like window shopping first." Yu Yan stuck out her tongue. She had gotten used to her thrifty life, so it would be had for her to suddenly changer her habit and liked to spend so much money all at once.
"What do you want to buy?" Long Ying didn't stop her. He would let her do what she wanted, but of course, it didn't mean that he wouldn't buy her more things on his own discretion.
"Maybe some donuts?" Yu Yan didn't have any plans and seeing the donuts store at one said perked her interest.
"Which flavor?"
"Chocolate, oh the nutty ones too."
"Alright."
The two of them entered the donut store and since Long Ying had returned back to wear that dark glasses, some people stared at him. Yu Yan ignored them as she went to the line with her eyes were still looking at the list of donuts, thinking which one she would want.
"That white one, is it white chocolate or milk?" Yu Yan asked Long Ying, who was standing beside her.
Long Ying arched his eyebrows. He honestly didn't know since he didn't usually eat donuts. "We can ask later."
"Alright."
At this moment, the person who was lining up behind them suddenly turned around. He was a young man in his twenties and looked very handsome. At the same time, there was an amicable aura that he emanated that could easily attract people to him.
The young man looked at Yu Yan and exclaimed, "I was thinking that the voice is familiar. It turns out that you're back in City A, Cousin Yu Yan."
Yu Yan was also surprised. She looked at the young man for a moment before greeting back, "I didn't expect to see you here either, Cousin Kang San Hai."
Kang San Hai was her uncle's second son who was around a year or two younger than her. He didn't really have stable job as of now and often seen fooling around with women. Even her uncle had long given up on this son of his.
Kang San Hai grinned. "Did you move to City A?"
"I just had some business here. Are you still living here?"
"Of course, Father didn't let me move." Kang San Hai's face turned gloom when he thought about his father. He had just been rebuked the day before and chased out of his house. If Yu Yan heard it, she would simply pat his shoulder and said that this was already the usual.
"I see."
"But I didn't expect to see you here. You know, just this morning your mother come to my house." Kang San Hai was a talkative person and didn't really filter his speech. He was considered as a little troublemaker in the family but since he did have some capabilities, he always managed to get away unscathed each time.
"She came to your house?" Yu Yan was surprised. "Do you know the reason?"
"She's searching for my brother. You know, my brother is in military and have some connections there. She wanted him to help her to find you." Kang San Hai had a scorn in his expression when he talked about it.
His older brother was part of military and had quite a high position. Because of that, he rarely came home and often went out for mission. There was a short break and his brother came home, which was the reason why there was a small family gathering.
It was supposed to be a joyful event, but his aunt just had to destroy it by making a scene. He was not close to his aunt and didn't really have good impression of that person. Naturally, he was displeased with Kang Mao Lan thanks to that incident.
"How stupid." Yu Yan furrowed her brows, her eyes turned a shade colder. There was no use asking the military to help because this was not a matter that could involve them. In addition, there was no way Kang San Hai's brother would be helping them considering that their relationship was not that good.
"Yes. My mom kicked her out afterwards. You should see her expression, it's so satisfying." Kang San Hai laughed. "But after that my mother scolded me for laughing."
Yu Yan looked at Kang San Hai.. Of course she would scold you when you're laughing at other people's misfortune so openly.
