Chapter 93 - Their Parents

Auntie Yun looked a bit disturbed. She looked at Yu Yan then back to Long Ying. "It's your mother, Boss."

Mother?

Yu Yan raised her head from the plate in front of her almost immediately. She had heard about the Long Family and after Long Ying admitted to her that his parents were the famous Long Family Head and his wife… she was totally nervous. They were all people from high class and someone like her who could only be considered to be middle and a bit above, might not enter their eyes at all.

Long Ying furrowed his brows a bit and nodded. "Lead her to the living room. I'll be there."

"Yes, Boss."

"Ying, is it because of me?" Yu Yan asked worriedly. She had been thinking about whether Long Ying's parents would know about his marriage or not. It seemed that her question would be answered today.

"Most likely yes. Are you worried?" Long Ying asked back. His silver eyes were staring deep into Yu Yan's eyes.

Yu Yan nodded. "A bit…"

"Don't worry, you don't need to please her."

"But she's your mother." Yu Yan looked at Long Ying with a confused expression. Shouldn't a daughter in law tried to get close to their parent in law because they needed to be accepted?

Long Ying didn't answer and merely stretched his hand to grab Yu Yan's hand. For some reason, it had become his habit lately to grab Yu Yan's hand whenever he wanted to bring her to someplace.

The two of them entered the living room and Yu Yan could see a middle aged woman sat in the middle of the room. She was dressed neatly and her hair was combed to form a bun on top of her head. Her dark brown eyes were staring at the front peacefully as if there was nothing that could disturb her in the slightest bit.

"Mrs. Long," Long Ying greeted.

Yu Yan's eyes widened when she heard how Long Ying greeted the other party. Did he just greet his mother with Mrs and not Mother? Even though Yu Yan had strained relationship with her parents, she still called them as her Mother and Father because they did raise her for a short period of time.

But Long Ying… didn't even call her as mother?

The woman, Wang Yue Er, glanced and looked at Long Ying. Her eyes didn't show any kind of emotion in the slightest bit as if she was merely looking at a stranger. "You don't seem to be surprised."

"It's about time for Mr. Long to hear the news." Long Ying guided Yu Yan to the sofa, right at the opposite of Wang Yue Er. He looked at Wang Yue Er with lazy expression. "What did he say? Did he disagree?"

"No, but he would like you to remember that you're not allowed to pull Long Family into your personal dispute. Whatever happens in your private life should never affect Long Family and Dragon Clan's affair in the slightest bit," Wang Yue Er replied unhurriedly. Her tone was extremely calm as if she was simply saying that the weather was nice without any emotion.

Long Ying nodded. "I understand. Tell him that I won't do anything rash nor detrimental that might put my position into danger."

"The resources are also not to be used recklessly."

"I know my limit."

Wang Yue Er nodded. She looked over in Yu Yan's direction for a moment then nodded. "I'm still an elder, so naturally I have to give you a gift. Congratulation for your marriage."

"Thank you." Yu Yan forced a smile. She could see that the atmosphere between the mother and son was extremely awkward, making her didn't know how she was supposed to react with them.

Wang Yue Er took out the bracelet she was wearing and extended her hand. Yu Yan instinctively reached out and Wang Yue Er slipped the bracelet to Yu Yan's wrist. "This is my gift to you. it's not much but I hope you'll have a blissful marriage."

"Thank you." The word 'mother' stuck in her throat and Yu Yan couldn't bring herself to say it out loud. She felt as if Long Ying never even treated the person in front of them as his mother and this made her felt awkward.

Wang Yue Er seemed to know what they were thinking as she didn't stay long and left after giving the bracelet.

"I'll relay your answer to your father. Have a good day, Long Ying."

"Take care, Mrs. Long."

It was silence in the living room after Wang Yue Er had left. Yu Yan looked at Long Ying carefully while making sure that she didn't make unnecessary noise. She felt that whatever she was about to say might not be able to fix the atmosphere.

"Yan'er, what are you thinking right now?" Long Ying asked in soft tone.

"That…" Yu Yan wanted to say nothing but looking at Long Ying's calm expression, she couldn't bring herself to say that. "You don't look like mother and son."

"She's my blood related mother, there's no doubt about that." Long Ying's tone when saying mother was extremely cold. For some reason Yu Yan felt that he might not even want to say the word at all. "However, she never raised me. From the moment I learn how to walk, I was thrown to Dragon Clan and raised in this place."

"What?" Yu Yan was stunned. Baby would start walking when they were between a few months old to one year, right? At that time, they would also start to eat soft food because their teeth would start to grow.

Long Ying looked at Yu Yan and smiled faintly. "It's the tradition of Long Family. When a child with silver eyes was born, he or she will be raised in accordance to the tradition and trained within Dragon Clan from the moment they can start walking. We still have no memory, but we're already thrown inside the clan because it's the only place we're allowed to grow in."

Yu Yan was silent but her heart ached terribly. She reached out her hand and hugged Long Ying tightly, feeling that his childhood must have been very terrible. If only it was possible, she wished that she could be there and helped the young brat and yet, she was also abandoned at that very time during her childhood period.

"You don't have to tell me more than this if you don't want to."

Long Ying didn't answer and lightly caressed the woman in his arms. Even though he knew from the moment he was born that he would never be able to live normally, he still wished that he could have normal relationship. At the very least, the person whom he chose to be with was someone normal and he wished to be able to protect her and kept her secure in his arms.

'Neither one of our parent care for us.'

When Yu Yan thought about that, she felt a bit sad. For some reason, her memory began to play the scene of parents' meeting in her high school back then.

*11 years ago, Wei Xia High School in Capital City*

"Father, father, look, I got good score this semester!"

"Yes, my boy is the best."

"So, buy me the model car, please…"

Outside the door, the young Long Ying was staring at the scene before him with cold eyes. He had long known that his parents would never come as they had never once come to the parents' meeting even from his elementary school until junior high school.

The only reason why they let him go to school was simply to let him have normal study and ordinary identity that he could use aside from being the future Dragon Clan Head.

'How useless.' the young Long Ying didn't like the scene at all.

"BOOO!"

"Whoa…" the young Long Ying pretended to be surprised when a pair of slender hands pushed him from behind with little force. He turned around and saw the young Yu Yan giggled as she waved her hand at him.

"Did I surprise you?"

"No."

"You're lying," the young Yu Yan stuck out her tongue. She glanced into the classroom but there was no intention from her to come inside. After all, the young Yu Yan knew that her parents would not come.

They never cared for her anymore after her sister showed her brilliance. Previously, she was in the same school as Yu Xin, so her parents still come to the school when it was parents' student day. The young Yu Yan could also say that her parents were in her sister's class, so the parents were not surprised.

But now that she was in the Capital City while Yu Xin was in City A, it was clear that she couldn't use that excuse anymore.

"What is it?" the young Long Ying noticed that the young Yu Yan seemed to be hesitant to come in.

"Let's ditch class."
