Chapter 119 - Xiao Han Yu’s Party Invitation

Looking at the sudden name, San Xia nearly threw her phone out of the window out of surprise.

San Xia took a closer look at the group description. It was a group of five people: she, An Luo, An Lin, Lan Huo, and Boss. When she was so agitated just now, she must have accidentally clicked the group where their Boss existed.

Profanities bombarded San Xia's mind as she turned to look at her husband, trying ask for help.

However, An Luo merely pointed to the back with one hand while the other hand was holding the steering wheel. "They had stopped for some time…."

San Xia's lips twitched. It was impossible to finish that fast unless their Boss was only playing around and had no intention to do it for real in the car. She had been had… recalling the words she said in the group.

"Hubby, prepare my funeral…."

"I'll prepare the best one."

San Xia: "…." Shouldn't you say that you're going to fight Boss and make sure he didn't kill me.

An Luo merely smiled wryly when he saw his wife's expression. He could help her in any matter but this one. When facing the angry Boss… he would rather stay far away in fear of getting implicated. 

Traitor!

San Xia harrumphed. While she knew that Long Ying would not kill her, she knew that the punishment would be severe enough to make sure she could guard her mouth better. Looking at the group chat, she really wished she could bring either An Lin or Lan Huo here.

If they were here, she would pull them to suffer with her. 

While San Xia was lamenting why she just had to click on this group, the two people on the back had calmed down considerably. They teased each other just now but not to the point of doing it in the car. Yu Yan was not bold enough to do that when there were two other people nearby.

"Are we going to stay in the Capital City for the time being?" Yu Yan finally asked after a while.

Long Ying nodded. "Would you like to stay in City A?"

"No, Capital City is good."

"Would you like to put pressure on the cheating couple again? They're doing well lately."

Yu Yan tilted her head. "I'll let her do her schemes first. I'm sure she's going to try getting pregnant first before coercing him to marry her with the child as bargain."

It was a very cliché move that had been done countless times in story. Yu Yan even wanted to roll her eyes at those stories because they always used the same move to deal off the finishing blow.

"What if she didn't succeed?"

"She might fake one." Yu Yan shrugged. "Anyway, I'll think for another way to coerce them when the time come. For now, I would rather focus on learning your management book."

"I'll send Lan Huo to teach you more."

"Ok."

Yu Yan didn't really want to get involved too deeply, but she would like to help Long Ying to check on the finance. After all, she was only good at that and if she could help him out, why not? Thanks to that, she had been learning bit by bit about his work and also the items that he would frequently use and need due to their position.

Long Ying looked at his phone and his gaze deepened. It seemed that he needed to train his subordinates again to make sure they didn't spread unfound rumors out.

Time passed swiftly.

It was clear that San Xia couldn't get away from her punishment as Long Ying sent her to experience Island A for a week. Fortunately, she came back perfectly fine, making Yu Yan wondered just what kind of place that island was. The others could only say that it was a place for training. 

When it was valentine time, Yu Yan was busy once more and after it had passed, the work was reduced.

She continued to watch the news but there was nothing much that said about Yu Family nor Bao Family anymore. It was to the point she wondered whether they still wanted to form the union or not.

Just as she was about to ask about this matter, Yu Yan got an invitation from her aunt, Xiao Han Yu.

"Is that birthday party invitation?" Long Ying asked as he glanced at the letter on Yu Yan's hand.

Yu Yan nodded. "Yeah, my aunt's birthday is in March and she usually host quite a big party. Do you know Xiao Family? They're quite the prominent family and my aunt is part of that family but it's said that she had quite far relationship. She was not close to the core member."

Long Ying nodded. He had investigated Yu Yan's family and obviously knew that her uncle, Kang Xie Jing, married Xiao Han Yu. The two of them had two children, one of them was that noisy Kang San Hai.

"Do you want to come?"

"I'm considering." Yu Yan played with the invitation letter in her hand. "Aunt Xiao should have known that my parents have thrown me out but they still invite me to the birthday party. I'm wondering whether she had another intention or not since it's hard to guess her."

Besides, Yu Yan was not close to the other party at all. If not, it would be impossible for her to not keep contact after all these years living strained from her family. Now that she got the invitation, Yu Yan was hesitating to come.

Long Ying rubbed Yu Yan's hand tenderly. "If you want to come, I'll accompany you."

"Do you want to come?"

"The explosives are ready but I haven't had the time to talk with Lei Xing Yi regarding whether I'm allowed to use it or not." Long Ying knew that he would need the approval of that young girl. After all, the share that Yu Yan had and her was practically the same.

Yu Yan blinked her eyes. She had completely forgot about this matter. "Right, I didn't even use the money they transferred for the mine's profit."

"Do you need it?"

"Not really." Yu Yan was staying at home when she was not busy and only shopped a bit lately. She didn't exactly pay that much attention to her bank account since her salary was mostly enough for her, so she didn't even bother to calculate how much she had left from them.

"Lei Xing Yi will surely come. Even if you don't think that coming there will be beneficial in overall, you can come to meet her and talked about this matter for a while."

"You're right." Yu Yan smiled faintly. "In that case I'll come. I also want to know how my aunt will see me as."

Long Ying nodded as he combed Yu Yan's hair. She was lying on the sofa while holding the invitation letter while he simply accompanied her. After their small quarrel during New Year, they had been living peacefully and didn't seem to have any other things they disagreed with.

Except in some small things.

"Do you want to start investigating your sister more? Yu Company is starting to get better lately." Long Ying didn't really pay much attention personally but he still kept his subordinate to keep a close watch to their company.

"I'm more wondering whether Yu Xin had returned back to work or not."

"She had."

"Oh?" Yu Yan glanced at her husband. Her eyebrows arched. "Are they not worried about making her public figure again?"

"Her friends no longer speak with her anymore if that's what you're worrying about. Many of them only tag along because of her influence with her parents. However, it's clear that they're not going get close to her when she's at her bottom points." Long Ying's voice was devoid of any emotion.

He knew very well that it was hard to find people who were really friends with them until they encountered trouble. It was only those who stayed close to them and helped them out were the real true friends.

Other friends were only around when there were good things but stayed away when bad things happened. That was what happened to Yu Xin as her friends mostly only consisted of those who wanted to take advantage of her wealth and position.

Because of that, they left at the first sign she encountered trouble.

"Oh." Yu Yan put the invitation down. "Then I guess it means she had gained her lessons for messing around."

"She will make more friends with Bao Tu helping her." Long Ying pursed his lips.

"He's still faithful to her?"

"So far, yes."

Yu Yan arched her eyebrows. And here she thought that Bao Tu was a man who was easily influenced considering how her sister even snatched him from her. But from the way it looked like, things were not that simple. 

"Get ready to sleep. You've been working hard due to that valentine event."

"Well, at least, the reception for the chocolate is good."

Long Ying sneered. He still disliked the fact that his wife worked under his friend's company and not just stayed with him. "It seems that my wife has become a bit disobedient."

"Ying!"

The party was held a few days afterwards. Yu Yan prepared some present with the help of Long Ying. She knew her aunt loved jewelries, so she picked one that was made from the mine.

"The party is going to be held soon. Is there anything else you left behind?" Long Ying asked.

Yu Yan tilted her head then shook her head lightly. "I think no. Come on."

"Hmm."
