Chapter 127 - Loving Couple

'Mrs. Yu, the request has been rejected.'

The message left Kang Mao Lan in a daze for some time before she stared hard at the message before her. Did it mean that the other party didn't even want to take her request?

It was such a big organization and site, yet it still refused her order.

Kang Mao Lan pursed her lips. She knew that the site did indeed only accept order from certain people but she didn't expect for them to reject her so blatantly like this. Her name… didn't seem to hold as much weight as she wanted to.

She just wanted to put her daughter in her place. Why is it so difficult? Was the Yu… no, Kang Family's name worth so little in their eyes?

Ding!

Another message had come.

Opening it, Kang Mao Lan was stunned speechless.

'KANG MAO LAN! What kind of man do you want me to investigate? Do you know that I lost an entire team just now? Damn it! That person must be related to the underworld! There's no trace at all! Don't you ever contact me ever again because I'll never agree to help you again. $%^&*(!'

Seeing the series of curses, Kang Mao Lan was stunned. She did think that Long Ying might be related to the underworld based on the way he acted back then. However, she never thought that it would be true and from the way her friend spoke, it seemed that his position was not low at all.

Did it mean that she had accidentally uncovered part of Long Ying's background?

But even then, there were too many organizations in the underworld. A person like her who didn't have much knowledge about them would not know anything. She would only know that he was someone shady.

But reporting him to the police?

That would not do. She didn't even know what he did and it was possible to erase the evidence if there was any even before she could report.

'Damn it! Why is it so hard to deal with just one man?'

Feeling indignant, Kang Mao Lan threw her phone to the bed and walked out of her room. She saw Yu Xin was also staring at her phone with a befuddled expression. 

"Xin'er, what is it?"

"Mom, Bao Tu wants me to sign marriage certificate with him tomorrow." Yu Xin was still partially absent minded. She thought that he would not pop this question, which was why she had been trying so hard to be able to get pregnant. But when she saw this message, she was also surprised.

Did it mean that he was actually just waiting for the right time?

Kang Mao Lan's eyes lit up when she heard that. "That's great! You'll be part of Bao Family! This is something worth celebrating!"

"Mhm."

Yu Xin smiled sweetly. It seems that Bao Tu truly cared for her and only hesitated before because of the problem in the company. That must be it. He was still caring for her so much that he was willing to marry her now.

"However, to be save, you still need to try having his child as soon as possible."

"Yes, Mom! I'll do my best." Yu Xin would do her best to make sure that Bao Tu would have a child with her. That way, she would be able to tie him down with her.

Bao Family would surely not let go of her once she had their child. With that in mind, Yu Xin was even happier and felt impatient for tomorrow. Would Bao Tu proposed to her grandly? She had to dress up to her best tomorrow!

Kang Mao Lan hugged her daughter, completely forgetting the matter of the people she hired. Since she couldn't do anything and didn't really wish to get involved in something illegal, she would just let Long Ying and Yu Yan off for now.

The most important thing for her was to make sure that she built the best marriage event for her daughter and let the entire world see her as the most beautiful bride!

That was a must!

Yu Zheng Tong was listening from the side and sighed. He looked at the pair of mother and daughter in front of him, knowing full well that he would be excluded from their planning.

Yu Xin turned around and looked at her father. She beamed. "Dad, you'll walk me to the altar, right?"

Yu Zheng Tong nodded. "I will."

"Let me be the one in charge of the venue and everything. You don't need to worry so much about it!" Kang Mao Lan was also excited. She felt that she would have a hard time sleeping because of this news. If only it was not night time, she really wanted to throw a party and probably started the preparation right away. 

It was hard to not be excited when such news was thrown to their faces.

"If you have anything you need me for, you can say it." Yu Zheng Tong was calm as he looked at the two of them.

"Dad, are you not excited?"

"I'm happy for you but I'm tired after all day speaking."

Well, Yu Zheng Tong did try his best to improve his company on the day in the party. It was hard for a small business like his to get better, so he had to make sure that he was working hard. Yu Company was still going bad even though he had been working for three decades to improve it.

He didn't have much talent as businessman and even his wife didn't like it that much. If not because of his lacking competence, he knew full well that he would not let himself be ordered around by a woman. He still had his pride!

But when he compared himself to his wife, it was impossible for him to hold his head high all the time.

Yu Xin looked a bit awkward but afterwards, she put on a worried expression. As someone who had been used to act all the time, she could easily change her expression at will. "In that case, Dad, you should rest."

"Mhm."

Kang Mao Lan snorted. She never liked her husband that much and if not because of her father's arrangement back then, she would never marry Yu Zheng Tong. "Come here, Yu Xin. We shall talk about the final preparation a bit."

Not to mention, the result of their marriage was such a useless daughter at first. If not because of her father, she might have already killed her own daughter back then because of the humiliation she suffered.

Thankfully she got the second daughter who was more remarkable and had bright future. Thus, she could set her heart at ease and felt much better. She would have to make sure that Yu Xin would have a brilliant future, unlike her who ended with such a poor man.

"Yes, Mom!"

Yu Zheng Tong watched them and sighed, rubbing his forehead. He took some time to stand there before returning back to his office in order to rest.

While Yu Family was busy, Long Ying was also busy in the kitchen. The couple managed to finish their cooking right in time for their dinner. Since there were no staffs around because they have left earlier, Yu Yan and Long Ying brought the food to the dining room.

"Let's eat."

Long Ying scooped some soup and put it to Yu Yan's plate. On the other hand, Yu Yan picked a shrimp and peeled it before putting it to Long Ying's plate. The two of them looked at each other before laughing.

It was only the two of them, yet they still often fed each other.

"Do you want more, Yan'er?" Long Ying asked, scooping another piece of fish meat for his wife.

"Hmm, sure. Do you want more shrimp, Ying?"

"I can peel it myself."

"I like peeling it for you."

Long Ying merely laughed and still peel for himself. Yu Yan only peeled some for him. She stopped as she put the peeled shrimp before Long Ying's mouth and grinned. 

"Say ahhh."

Seeing her wife's mischievous smile, Long Ying knew that she wanted to feed him. Hmm, his little wife really loved to play around. However, he still opened his mouth and let his wife put the peeled shrimp into his mouth.

Chewing on the shrimp, he was still watching Yu Yan's bright smile. "Want some?"

"No. How's the taste?"

"It's good." Long Ying nodded. He had to admit that Yu Yan was pretty good as a cook because she could replicate the taste pretty well. Of course, he would not compare his wife's cooking with the professional ones objectively. In his opinion, whatever his wife made is the best!

Yu Yan grinned. "That's good!"

The couple continued their banter during their dinner and afterwards, they rested in the living room. Long Ying sat down on the sofa while his wife leaned her head on his lap while playing with her phone. 

"How did it go?" it was only now Yu Yan asked about Long Ying's progress. The banter time from before was too fun and she didn't wish to destroy the atmosphere by asking that question. 

"Hmm, it's going well." Long Ying caressed his wife's hair tenderly. "How can he refuse when there's such a fat lamb offer in front of him?"

Yu Yan sneered. "I'll text my cousins about it tomorrow. I'm sure that they're happy that they'll be able to get a lot of money soon."

Long Ying smiled.. "They would not care that much but they should be happy to be out of your grandfather's scheme."
