In the end, Yu Yan stopped crying. However, she didn't speak about the matter and only pointed at the paper on the ground. "You can burn it now."

Long Ying was even more guilty but he could see that she didn't want to talk about the conclusion of the report. He bent down and took the paper. Afterwards, he silently lit up the match that Lan Huo had given to him and burned the paper to ash.

"Don't say anything… please?" Yu Yan raised her head and looked at Long Ying with pleading expression.

Long Ying shut his mouth once more. When he saw the words written on the paper, he was devastated because he knew… Yu Yan had long wanted children. Now that it was hard for her to conceive again, how could she accept it?

"It's not the end of the report." Long Ying took out the rest of the paper and put it beside Yu Yan. "You may want to see it."

Yu Yan took a deep breath and glanced at the stack of paper beside her. Her eyes were still red but she took it and began to read. The names of the herbs inside were unfamiliar to her but looking at the notes written, she could guess that it must be a concoction that was rare.

"This is the treatment?" Yu Yan asked.

Long Ying nodded. "There's chance to recover after a few years with this but you'll have to drink the medicine everyday."

Originally, he was planning on telling her that it was some kind of health tonic or so on. But since she already knew about her real condition, he decided to be truthful. His hand clenched on his two sides as he swore internally that he would not let anyone who were involved in this matter off.

Yu Yan nodded. "Alright."

"That's…"

"Don't blame yourself. I'm the one who makes the action so it should be my fault." Yu Yan laughed bitterly. She thought that she was already a capable person after having some training and that it would be fine. But she was too careless as the underworld was even more dangerous than what she thought.

Yu Yan had already felt much better but Long Ying still didn't allow her to leave the hospital until she made full recovery. On the other hand, An Lin recovered faster and could walk around freely. He made a visit to the room next door to see Yu Yan on the day he managed to walk again.

"Madam!" An Lin greeted happily.

Seeing An Lin, Yu Yan was surprised. She teared up a bit as she greeted back, "An Lin, it's good to see you alive and kicking."

She could not forget the day when An Lin protected her and then got shot. She had screamed out loudly, calling for him but An Lin couldn't answer at that time. After she woke up, she was preoccupied with what happened and only asked about An Lin afterwards. It was only then she found out that he was only wounded but he would recover soon.

Seeing how An Lin could already jump around, she felt genuinely happy.

"What are you talking about? I can definitely walk around just fine! Do you really think that I'll die so quickly?" An Lin laughed.

A hand hit An Lin's head from behind. San Xia was looking at her younger brother in law with contempt. "Keep on bragging and I'll personally make sure that I'm the one who send you to your grave."

An Luo arched his eyebrows. He came in while carrying a tray of food for Yu Yan. "Let me do the honor to help you do that. I can't let your hand be dirtied by facing a brat like him."

An Lin was speechless. He was only stepping on the death's door a few days ago and now his brother and sister in law were already itching to send him back again? Why did they have to be so cruel, ah?

"An Luo, San Xia," Yu Yan greeted. She smiled. "I haven't seen you for days. Long Ying said that you're busy."

"Yes, there are some matters that we need to clean up," An Luo replied honestly. Of course, he would never tell her what kind of matter they were cleaning up just now because it might be too much for her to hear.

"Can I leave the hospital now?" Yu Yan asked.

"Boss said that Madam needs to make full recovery before allowed to leave the hospital."

Yu Yan pursed her lips. In her opinion, she was already healthy enough. However, Long Ying still didn't allow her to move around so much because he wanted her to recover completely first. After this, she would be training under Long Ying to become stronger, so she definitely had to recover first.

"Please eat, Madam. Boss will come later."

"Fine."

After the first three days, Long Ying finally couldn't delay the matter at the clan anymore and forced to return back to work. He still didn't want to leave Yu Yan but because of the pressing matter, he had to. Since then, he came to visit once a day to make sure that she was fine.

The two of them chatted about some things while some matters were left untouched. There were things that was better left not talked about because neither side wished to bring it up. 

"Madam, please rest well after eating."

"Yes."

Yu Yan finished her food and her three visitors left not long afterwards. The room was very silent. Feng Mian visited her just yesterday but she also couldn't stay for long because of some reasons. In the end, Yu Yan spent most of her days alone here while doing nothing but playing with her phone.

She browsed her drive and then clicked on the photo albums. It was the photos from when she was still in High School. Her friends back then gathered a lot of photos and shared in the group but she only kept some that was memorable to her.

Looking at the photos back then, Yu Yan's lips curled up slightly. At that time, she was more agile than she was right now. Looking at the pictures and reminisced, Yu Yan eventually fell asleep with the phone on her hand.

When Long Ying came, the scene he saw was Yu Yan sleeping with her phone in her hand.

'This little girl.'

Long Ying smiled helplessly and pulled the blanket to cover Yu Yan properly. He picked the phone and accidentally saw the picture there. It was the picture of their school trip in first year of high school. At that time, the school picked mountains as their destination and the students were divided into several groups to hike around the mountain by following the maps.

The picture showed their entire group back then, which consist of more than 10 people. However… Long Ying knew that there was a little incident on the way. Back then, he and Yu Yan somehow got separated from the main group and then they got lost for an entire day before finding their way back to the camp.
