2 hours were so long. Kaili took out a sketchbook and pencil from her bag, intending to draw. However, because her heart was chaotic, it made her not focus on her sketch. As a result, not a single image was successfully made. Kaili blamed herself, why was she so talkative? Why did she take the initiative to talk to strangers? If she didn't take the initiative to talk to him, maybe she would be home by now, lying on the bed comfortably, or at least she'd have Aunty Inandi teach her how to cook. Unlike now, she had to sit here like a fool waiting to keep her word.
There was one more thing that scared her most, what if Dexter found out, he had lunch on the job interview day, and that was with a man? Dexter must be very angry, right? At first, she wanted to say this to Dexter, but fear filled her head right away. In the end ... Kaili didn't even say anything.
At 12 noon, no less and no more, Delwyn walked over to her, "Come on!"
Kaili hurriedly put her book in her bag and walked out with Delwyn. After getting into the same elevator, which they boarded this morning, Delwyn asked, "Where do you want to eat?"
"It's up to you ..." Kaili was not really interested.
Heh ... Delwyn chuckled, "You are the one who's gonna treat me, but why is your answer as if it's on me?"
UUhhhhh ...
Kaili was silent for 5 seconds, then hurriedly explained, "I didn't mean it like that. I mean, because it's me who wants to treat you, so if the director wants to eat somewhere, we'll go there. I will pay for it."
"Oohh .... I see. Well, I won't hesitate anymore." Delwyn answered meaningfully.
After arriving in the lobby, Kaili immediately kept a distance from him. Delwyn had walked to the side of his car, but Kaili was still far behind. She walked so slow. Delwyn waited for a while but it seemed that even if he waited for 10 minutes, by the way of Kaili walking, she would not have arrived. So Delwyn caught up with her.
"Don't you want to buy me a meal? Do you want to break your promise?"
"Eh ... that's not it," Kaili answered very quickly.
"Then why aren't you enthusiastic?"
"Eh ... am I?" Kaili asked back.
Delwyn didn't want to make a fuss. He took Kaili's hand slowly, leading her to the car.
Kaili was naturally uncomfortable. Apart from Dexter, any man had never held her hand like this. Her forehead frowned, she was already trying to get her hands off, but Delwyn held them quite tightly.
"Get in," said the man as soon as he got in front of his car, he even opened the passenger door for Kaili.
Without saying anything, Kaili entered.
"There is a Japanese restaurant nearby which is pretty good. Do you like Japanese food?"
"I eat anything, don't mind me. Choose whichever restaurant you like. I'll treat you there." Kaili made a gesture. Having been permitted like that, Delwyn did not hesitate anymore.
They walked side by side into a Japanese restaurant and chose to sit in an elegant private room. Kaili said softly, "Order it. Today's lunch will follow your taste."
Delwyn looked at her with a glowing gaze full of cues, "Does this mean, there will be another lunch, to suit your taste?"
"Eh, no!" Again Kaili answered without hesitation. Another lunch?! There will be no other lunch, since earlier when she found out that she was going to have lunch with this person, she had muttered to herself, this would be Alpha and Omega, the first and last time she would eat with a foreign man, especially this man who was his own boss!
"Don't be too quick to make decisions! We're going to the same office. Don't you think that there will be a lot of opportunities?"
Uhhh ... Of course, Kaili would be smarter in the future. She would mind her words so there would no more invitations to lunch.
Kaili didn't answer him, just gave a sweet smile. She recalled their first encounter in the elevator, this man was so arrogant, didn't even glance at her! But now, instead, he took advantage of the situation to be able to have lunch with her. Could it be, this guy fell in love with her at first sight?
Akh ... Kaili thought too much.
"I saw your profile. You just. Looking at your graduation predicate, you should be a pretty smart student, but why are you graduated at the age of 25?"
Uuhhh ... It was a good thing not being reminded of those bad memories! Why did people like to put salt on other people's wounds?
Kaili took a deep breath and replied, "I have my own problems, so I'm late for college!"
"Uhh ... sorry, I didn't mean. I just wanted to know."
People were only able to say sorry for the pain that was accidentally rubbed on to another person, regardless of how one might feel if reminded of a memory that one wanted to forget! Could you just mind your own business?
"It's okay, nothing big. Also ... it's been a long time." Even though there was a bit of discomfort in Kaili's heart, her smile still broke when she answered that.
"Oh, by the way ... may I ask something?" asked Kaili when they were enjoying the food that was served in front of them.
"Hmmm .... Just say it."
"Why can I be accepted?"
"Did you get accepted really confused you? After all, didn't I answer this before? Do you still need another answer?"
"It's not that. I just feel, compared to me, the applicants from earlier were still very good."
"Thinking of other people in the midst of competition. Should you be called an angel, or stupid?"
Uhhh ... His mouth was so hot!
"But ... since you seem to need an answer, I will answer you willingly."
