14 Her Side

Lei Ju pulled Li Qing inside while questioning her. "Who was it? Was it Qing Luo? God, that woman has man hands to be able to hit you this heavily." Lei Ju mumbled along as she put Li Qing to sit on her sofa. She then disappeared down a corridor, but came practically running back with an ice pack.

Li Qing's eyes softened as Lei Ju gently put the pack onto Li Qing's swollen face. "So.... was it really Qing Luo? Tell me. I may not be able to do much but I will help you get back at her! That woman loves her reputation, just a little gossip and she will kill over!" If only Lei Ju knew that the woman had a panic attack due to the very friend she was questioning, certainly, she would be proud.

"It's fine, it wasn't Qing Luo," Li Qing placated Lei Ju mildly, then proceeded to tell her what had happened, in her own version of course. Saying that she only wanted Chu An's money? It was only in anger she blurted that out. Claiming she was just like his woman, Xuan Sanaa?That was obviously testing him. Proclaiming herself the winner in the end? Her 'feelings' had reached its last straw. How can he blame her?

Lei Ju was beyond surprised as she listened to Li Qing's description, and indeed she wished she was there to witness the entire scene! She would have been able to see Qing Luo beat up on the floor like a dying fish and the flustered maids, then too, she would have been able to give Chu An a jump kick, not that she may have had the courage to do so in the situation. To her, Chu An's value as a man dwindled to the negatives. At first, sure she didn't like him as he didn't treat Li Qing well, but, she still held some admiration for him as he was a "self made" man. Now? She didn't care about how he was a little admirable, she wanted to grab him and beat him black and blue, so that when his mother sees him, she would think he was another street rat!

However, Li Qing explained her side of the story well, for if one followed the scene of Li Qing from beginning to end, who can find fault in her superb performance? Certainly not the third uncle who was currently watching the footage!
