Chapter 245 Lu Tianzi's Beastial Bloodline Activation

Lu Tianzi slowly stepped away from the unconscious Mosha, not daring to let Wenqin out of his vision.

Lying motionlessly on the ground, Mosha's body slowly regained his original appearance. He was already completely incapable of defending himself, and Lu Tianzi certainly did not want him to suffer from any stray attacks.

Wenqin confidently watched on as Lu Tianzi repositioned himself, not the slightest bit worried.

Now that Mosha had been taken care of, Wenqin suddenly felt that he had quite some time to spare.

After all, even a Second Cycle Origin Core realm martial artist had been knocked out this easily by him, what more someone at the Essence Condensation realm?

Furthermore, Wenqin did not feel that he was underestimating Lu Tianzi in any way.

He had already considered the fact that Lu Tianzi could jump ranks to contend against Origin Core realm martial artists. That was something that was no longer just a rumour, but had been established and even become widespread knowledge.

However, which genius could not jump ranks to fight?

The First Origin Cycle Mosha could jump ranks to easily defeat Bogeng who was at the Second Origin Cycle, and in previous occasions, had even fought with opponents at the Third Origin Cycle with ease.

Wenqin himself could also deal with opponents two or three boundaries above him.

Yes, the gulf between Essence Condensation realm and Origin Core realm was far larger than that of boundaries within the Origin Core realm itself.

However, could it be that despite only being at the Peak Essence Condensation realm, Lu Tianzi was actually able to fight opponents at the Fourth or Fifth Origin Cycle?

Impossible.

Martial talent could only bring a person so far. Once the difference in cultivation levels reached a certain point, there was simply no way to overcome it.

As someone who had been hailed as the greatest genius of the Dragon Cauldron Kingdom, Wenqin knew this for a fact. Exposed to powerful seniors since young, this was something that he had experienced first hand.

It was for this same reason that the Dragon Cauldron Overlord had remained firmly out of his reach.

That was why Wenqin could not be deigned to fight against Lu Tianzi since the start, simply choosing to isolate him with the Cauldron of Draconic Force.

Even with regards to Lu Tianzi's illusion attack, Wenqin was not too concerned.

As long as he was prepared for it, he believed that it would not be able to pose much of a threat.

And he was right about that too.

This was also the reason why Lu Tianzi had not tried to use the same trick again.

Earlier when he did so to help Mosha, Wenqin had only been stalled for the slightest of moments. Now that Wenqin was prepared for it, Lu Tianzi's efforts would only be in vain.

Borrowing Wenqin's words, this was none other than the disparity that had resulted from a difference in their cultivation levels.

However, Lu Tianzi had more than the Howling Wraith Sword at his disposal.

Of course, Lu Tianzi would have appreciated it if Mosha had not been taken out this quickly. But since things had already progressed in such a manner, he had no choice but to try handling things himself.

Wenqin had already shown what he was capable of. Against such overwhelming power from Wenqin, in the presence of the thousands of demons around him, there was only one option left for Lu Tianzi.

He let out a deep breath and relaxed his muscles, his perception sinking deep into his body.

His perception pierced through his skin, his muscles, his flesh, all the way in to focus on the countless blood vessels running throughout his body.

Fresh blood flowed freely through them, delivered to every corner of his body with each beat of his heart. And in his blood, there existed slight traces of an ancient aura.

This ancient aura in the blood was faint, almost untraceable in its present state. Yet at the same time, there was no doubt that it was present, unmistakably so, and was simply lying dormant.

But with a single thought from Lu Tianzi, this ancient aura was immediately awoken, stimulated into activity.

At that very moment, Lu Tianzi could feel the strain on his heart rapidly increasing, his heartbeat sounding out in his ears like thunder.

Hmm?

Wenqin frowned.

He could sense that a transformation was currently happening within Lu Tianzi.

This was not part of the information he had received on this target, and it greatly displeased him. He did not enjoy the feeling of being blindsided by something unexpected, especially since they had so much time to gather information on Lu Tianzi.

Yet the thought that Lu Tianzi was only at the Peak Essence Condensation realm calmed him down once more. No matter what Lu Tianzi was trying to do, it would not be able to change the outcome.

By now, physical changes had started to appear on Lu Tianzi's body.

The skin on his hands hardened, looking somewhat akin to scales growing all the way up and finally stopping about halfway through his arms. His nails grew longer and sharper, and his hands started to bear semblance to an eagle's talons.

His hair colour grew a shade lighter, but not to the extent of becoming entirely white. The ends of his hair extended, growing by just about a couple centimetres longer.

His toned body grew more defined, and his eyes sharpened. It was as though nothing could escape his eyes anymore.

Behind his back, a single left wing pierced through his shirt, stretching out to his left without restraint.

It resembled the wings of an eagle, and was about two metres long when fully stretched out.

It was a pure and untainted white, its feathers neat and orderly. Just looking at this single left wing gave one a sense of surrealism, as though it was something that should not belong to this world.

And along with the appearance of this single left wing, an unprecedented sense of threat swept across everyone in the battlefield, as though a true ancient beast had just descended upon them.

Even the Origin Core realm martial artists in the sky could not help but frown.

They remained preoccupied with their fights, but they, too, could sense that something had been let loose upon the battlefield below.

Something extremely dangerous.

Grr-!

The Thornback Tortoises a distance away growled in unison, all of them instinctively taking a step back.

Even Nanqing Haowen's Black Maned Shadow Lion cowered slightly, no longer able to fight with all its strength.

"This…" Nanqing Haowen was helpless about it.

Through their mental connection, he was able to sense the fear in his contract beast's heart. It was something innate, something that was impossible to resist.

Beasts always had a stronger natural instinct than humans or demons. Even though the sense of threat that swept across the battlefield was merely disturbing to martial artists, it was actually absolutely terrifying to these beasts!

Some of the Thornback Tortoises even shrank slightly into their shells, prostrating themselves onto the ground in worship and reverence.

When Nanlan Qianxue noticed the direction that these beasts were facing, she could not help but let out a bitter smile.

This feeling of danger was something that did not differentiate between allies and enemies, and Nanlan Qianxue naturally could sense it as well. Even in the battle against Chiren previously, Lu Tianzi had not done anything similar.

Could it be something that he learnt at the human village?

Nanlan Qianxue could not help but feel slightly depressed. Everytime she thought she was getting closer to Lu Tianzi, the latter would leave her in the dust once more.

Just what kind of monster is he?

Lu Tianzi's transformation did not take long to complete. Barely a few moments had passed before he finally looked up, his gaze landing upon Wenqin.

At that instant, Wenqin shuddered.

It was an involuntary tremble, one that was ever so natural in the world of the jungle. It was the feeling of prey being eyed upon by their natural predator.

It was pure, genuine fear.

Wenqin realised it as well, and rage immediately welled up within him from the shame that he felt.

Despite being at the Second Cycle Origin Core realm, he actually felt fearful towards an opponent who was only at the Essence Condensation realm?

Him, Longshao Wenqin?

How laughable!

At this rate, just how is he supposed to claim the throne of the Dragon Cauldron Kingdom?

No, this cannot be allowed.

No matter what, he has to overcome his fears. He has to defeat Nanlu Tianzi convincingly enough to make up for this shameful sensation in his heart!

Wenqin steeled his resolve, charging forth towards Lu Tianzi.

At the same time, a silvery light flashed across Lu Tianzi's eyes as they locked onto the approaching Wenqin.

Even now that he was moments away from facing Wenqin's attack, the same Wenqin that had beaten Mosha, Lu Tianzi felt unbelievably calm, so much so that it confused even Lu Tianzi himself.

The current him could clearly see Wenqin's every movement with ease.

He could see Wenqin's raised fist brimming with power, ready to punch forth in about half a breath's time. He could see the energy thread attached to Wenqin's back, connecting him to the huge bronze cauldron that was following right behind him.

He could also see the cold sweat that had formed upon Wenqin's forehead, and the slight distress in his brows.

That was not it either.

The countless people around them, some busy fighting, some preoccupied with watching their fight instead, all of their expressions and moves seemed to be laid bare before his eyes.

It was the feeling of having absolute control over his surroundings, as if everything that was happening around him right now was in the palm of his hand.

Lu Tianzi drove the Slaughter Essence in his inner world, pouring his Essence energy into the Moon Culler.

After which, he did not move.

If it was before, Lu Tianzi would definitely have charged forward as well, wanting to generate some momentum for his attack. But this time, Lu Tianzi did not see the need to do so.

Instead, he simply stood there with sword in hand, waiting patiently for Wenqin to arrive.

His face was expressionless, and it could almost appear to others as if he was in a daze. But he was not, and he was only more prepared than ever for the clash that was to come.

Wenqin arrived before him, and Lu Tianzi slashed out.

Lu Tianzi did not execute any moves from the Eternal Wraith Sword Art. It was a plain and straightforward strike, albeit one that was studded with his comprehensions in sword mastery.

There was a heavy clash as Wenqin's fist that was shrouded with materialised Slaughter Essence smashed against against Lu Tianzi's Moon Culler.

Their collision generated wild energy undulations that swept across the battlefield, stirring the dirt and sand from the ground, and causing Lu Tianzi's clothes to flutter violently.

But in the face of this storm of energy, Lu Tianzi did not even blink.

He was calm, unimaginably so.

Since he could see every grain of sand that approached his eyes, he naturally could fend them off with his Essence energy.

That was only natural, wasn't it?

Blood stained the Moon Culler, and Wenqin was sent flying.

Lu Tianzi had only executed a normal sword strike, and yet this plain and straightforward strike proved to be more than enough for the job.

In contrast, Lu Tianzi merely felt his heels dig slightly deeper into the ground. It was something insignificant, perhaps just like this fight was.

Everyone who witnessed this scene felt their jaws drop, unable to believe what just happened.

Everyone, except for Lu Tianzi.

He won the clash, but he did not feel thrilled about it whatsoever.

Everything just seemed so simple, so natural… so pointless.
