Chapter 169 Arrival of Various Powers

Since the Nanqing Family had been able to obtain news about the Wild Melody Circus' visit to Bluenight City, it was only natural that other influences in the kingdom were able to do so as well.

Over the next two days, there was a huge influx of people entering Bluenight City, causing the population density to soar to unprecedented heights.

Streets were filled with people, and businesses flourished, especially because most of these visitors were influential people of their own right, and could afford to spend as they wished.

For most of these visitors, it was their first time coming to this city located in the far north of the Scarlet Moon Kingdom.

Normally, this should have been a good measure of just how much attention the Wild Melody Circus was able to draw in by itself.

However, things were slightly different this time round.

Many of these visitors had a second reason to flock towards Bluenight City, and this reason was the same one that had drawn over the Wild Melody Circus in the first place.

Nanlu Tianzi.

In the recent Scarlet Moon Heroes Meet held a couple of weeks ago, this previously unknown youth had seemingly appeared out of nowhere to sweep away all competition, even going as far as to personally defeat three of the Four Stars to claim the top spot.

Furthermore, he was later revealed to be Formation Master Beimu's student, and was also rumoured to have defeated Beihua Wanlei of the Lightning Crow Sect in a supposed fight to the death, severely injuring the latter to the point where he had yet to appear in public since then.

It was said that if not for Sect Master Leiba's plea, Beihua Wanlei would have already died by his hands!

And this mysterious young star of the Scarlet Moon Kingdom just happened to be from an influence in this remote Bluenight City.

How could they not take this golden opportunity to pay them a visit?

"Elder Wenshen of the Quake Scroll Sect is here to visit the respectable Nine Suns Sect!" a scholarly looking middle aged man called out from the front door of the Nine Suns Sect.

Behind him, a group of his sect members were gathered. There were around twenty of them, all of them excellent in demeanor. They stood with that backs straightened in pride. Just by standing there, their scholarly aura alone was sufficient to put on a grand display.

"Greetings to Elder Wenshen!" a sect member hurried out to invite the group in. "Please enter!"

But upon seeing that it was just a regular sect member who had arrived to receive him, Elder Wenshen could not help but frown in displeasure.

No matter what, he was still a figure at the elder level.

Even though their Quake Rock Sect might not be able comparable to the Nine Suns Sect, they still possessed a heritage rich enough to command respect from other influences.

Was it not mere courtesy for an elder of the Nine Suns Sect to receive him personally?

This was the first time that he had ever been snubbed to such an extent!

How arrogant!

It seemed like the Nine Suns Sect had decided to let their recent fame get to their heads!

Nevertheless, since they had already travelled all the way here, there was no reason to make a fuss at this stage. Even he wanted to complain, he would need to at least complain to a person at the Elder level!

"Lead the way," Elder Wenshen's tone reflected the thoughts in his heart, carrying a tinge of unhappiness.

The sect member who had been instructed to receive them caught this underlying tone as well, and could not help but let out an awkward smile.

Even so, he dutifully led the group from the Quake Scroll Sect through the winding walkways in the Outer Sect Grounds, heading towards the front hall of the Nine Suns Sect.

Along the way, Elder Wenshen kept feeling stifled by the fact that he was being led around by a mere junior.

The more he thought about it, the worse he felt.

All of this displeasure quickly accumulated within him. When they finally arrived before the front hall, Elder Wenshen was already well prepared to give them a piece of his mind.

But when the sect member finally pushed open the door to the front hall, all the words that Elder Wenshen had thought of in his head were left stuck in his throat.

This was because with a single glance, he had been able to tell who exactly were in the front hall.

Gathered within were representatives hailing from various influences all over the Scarlet Moon Kingdom, along with the groups of juniors that they had brought along.

Elder Wenshen recognised quite a few of the famous characters. Even for those whom he could not identify, it was more than obvious from their Origin Core realm cultivation levels that they were no pushovers.

Standing among them were a few Origin Core realm martial artists who were clearly acting as the hosts, moving from group to group to strike up conversations.

All of them were wearing the same white robe as that of the sect member who had just led him here.

There was no doubt that they were the Elders of the Nine Suns Sect, and upon their entry, one of them immediately walked up to him.

"Greetings, Elder Wenshen. I am Elder Mingxin of the Nine Suns Sect." Elder Mingxin greeted him a radiant smile. "I am pleased to make your acquaintance."

"Greetings, Elder Mingxin. The pleasure is mine," Elder Wenshen flashed back a friendly smile, all the pent up displeasure within him disappearing in an instant.

How would he not understand what the situation was?

Compared to many of the other visitors present, his background was nothing impressive at all!

"First of all, I would like to apologise for not being able to receive you personally. But as you can tell, our hands are a little tied here," Elder Mingxin explained. "Just for your information, our Sect Master Nanhui and Nanlu Tianzi are attending to another visitor in the back. So you might have to make do with us."

"Oh?" Elder Wenshen raised an eyebrow in surprise.

That explained why instead of looking for the rumoured young genius, everyone present was just chatting amongst themselves and with the Elders of the Nine Suns Sect.

But even with such a star studded lineup gathered here, they were still unable to compare favourably with the other visitor?

Just who exactly was able to command this much of a difference in treatment from the rest of them?

As though she had guessed his thoughts, Elder Mingxin let out a soft chuckle before answering his question.

"It is the Beimu Clan."

***

In the Inner Sect Grounds, Sect Master Nanhui walked along while chatting with an Elder from the Beimu Clan. Not far behind, Lu Tianzi trailed along with a conversation partner of his own.

This was a form of special treatment that was only made possible because of Lu Tianzi's close ties to the Beimu Clan. Otherwise, even if he was the sect master, it was hardly suitable for Sect Master Nanhui to reveal their inner grounds to outsiders.

Of course, they only visited some of the common training facilities. Anywhere sensitive like the Grand Mirror Courtyard were out of the question.

"To think that the Wild Melody Circus would actually come all the way here because of you, at least you are not disgracing the face of Master!" Beimu Fei grinned.

"I am surprised by this as well…" Lu Tianzi forced a smile.

Everyone had been saying that he was the main reason why so many people were coming to Bluenight City, and that was truly troubling for him. In order to avoid having to make small talk with others, he had even remained closed up within the sect grounds these two days, temporarily not heading over to the Heaven Constellations Inscription Tower.

He might have wanted some form of recognition so as to smoothen his future path, but this was just too much of a burden!

At this rate, he would probably end up spending more time networking than actually cultivating!

Seeing that Lu Tianzi had not let his current fame get to his head, Beimu Fei was slightly relieved in her heart. The last thing she wanted to see was for her master's new student to become a typical arrogant character because of this one achievement.

"Anyway, are you here for the Wild Melody Circus as well?" Lu Tianzi asked. "Are you looking to contract a beast partner?"

"We are here because of the Wild Melody Circus, but not for me to contract a beast." Beimu Fei shook her head. "To be honest, we are here mainly because Master thought that your Nine Suns Sect might not be able to cope with the pressure from the arrival of this many influences. Thus she sent us to help keep these people in check."

"Fei'er!" the Elder from the Beimu Clan turned around to glare at her immediately. "How can you say such rude things in front of Sect Master Nanhui?"

"We both know it is the truth," Beimu Fei shrugged nonchalantly.

It was obvious that she did not hold much respect for either Sect Master Nanhui or the Elder from her own clan.

"Don't worry, Elder Jiang. It is fine," Sect Master Nanhui waved it off graciously.

He knew very well just how powerful the background of this young lady was. Even though she had spoken without tact, at least she meant well for the Nine Suns Sect with her visit.

"My apologies for my unruly junior, Sect Master Nanhui." this Elder Jiang could only laugh in embarrassment.

Unfortunately, Elder Jiang knew very well that the only person whom Beimu Fei respected was her master, Formation Master Beimu Ting. Even he as an Elder of the Beimu Clan was unable to make her behave any differently.

"In any case, please relay my gratitude to Formation Master Beimu for her thoughtfulness," Sect Master Nanhui tried to divert the attention away from Beimu Fei.

"For sure!" Elder Jiang nodded, relieved that Sect Master Nanhui was not taking the matter to heart.

"Please help me thank Teacher as well," Lu Tianzi added.

He could not help but to feel impressed by Formation Master Beimu's foresight.

Lu Tianzi had managed to avoid meeting any visitors for now. But from what he heard, many visitors to the city were from influences similar to or even stronger than the Nine Suns Sect.

With the Beimu Clan present, they would no longer dare to act arrogantly here in Bluenight City. This would not only lend a layer of protection to the Nine Suns Sect, but also prevent unnecessary conflicts within the city.

How reliable!

It truly felt good to have connections to people in high places!

After chatting for a little while longer, they arranged special accommodations for the two representatives of the Beimu Clan, before finally retiring for the night. As for the rest of the visitors, they were destined to be unable to meet Lu Tianzi, and could only leave in disappointment after presenting their greeting gifts.

The night passed quickly.

With the break of dawn, the sense of anticipation shrouding over the people of the city finally reached its peak.

Everyone's attention was now directed to a large open area outside of Bluenight City itself, located not too far away from the Southern Gate.

Or at least, it was still an open area the day before.

At this moment, however, it had already undergone a total transformation, becoming the temporary abode of the Wild Melody Circus.
