Chapter 178 Shafeng and the Limitless Reality Mirror

The moment he gave out his order, the hundreds of experts who had been silently hovering behind him prepared to make their move. Excitement and bloodlust filled the air as they looked forward to the massacre that was to come!

At that very moment, a group of martial artists suddenly flew up from the ground, with worry and anxiousness practically written on their faces.

Hmm?

Lu Tianzi was surprised when he looked over at the other group.

They were far fewer in numbers, comprising only a dozen of them. However, what drew Lu Tianzi's attention was that none of them had tails behind their back.

Humans?

Lu Tianzi mused to himself.

Apart from Hu Yuanbo, Lu Tianzi had never seen any humans who had reached the Origin Core realm and above. To think that right now, there were actually a dozen of them gathered here!

Still, the number disparity was far too huge. Lu Tianzi had no doubt that if the two sides clashed, the group of humans would only face certain defeat.

"Senior, please show mercy and stay your hand!" the one leading the group of humans hurriedly called out.

In response to his plea, Lu Tianzi found himself letting out a snort of disdain.

"Insects," his voice was filled the same sense of pride and apathy from before.

It was as though he truly thought of the other party as mere bugs, unqualified to even hold a conversation with him.

As though his words had been a signal, hundreds of Origin Totems instantly flared up from the army behind him, creating a ridiculous level of pressure that bore down heavily upon the surroundings, and especially focused on the group of human martial artists, causing them to groan in pain.

But even before anyone could truly act, the Slaughter Essence within Lu Tianzi's body churned wildly before bursting out like a torrential flood, at a rate far beyond what Lu Tianzi could ever imagine!

What a ridiculous amount of Essence energy!

Lu Tianzi was incredibly shocked, but even that feeling was almost immediately overshadowed by an intense pain!

At this moment, the sheer magnitude of Essence energy that was being driven within his body was inflicting an immense pressure on his mind, at a level that was far beyond Lu Tianzi's capacity to bear!

Argh!

Lu Tianzi groaned inwardly as he guarded his psyche, trying his best to resist.

At the same time, this body of his did not even flinch.

After all, Lu Tianzi was still but a mere spectator in this world. Just the fact that he was currently being influenced by the events of this world was already a phenomenon beyond his wildest imagination!

"It seems you are still not ready," the familiar voice of the treasure spirit suddenly sounded out in his head.

With that, Lu Tianzi's surroundings started to break apart, dissipating into grey smoke.

However, right at the last moment, Lu Tianzi sensed an extremely familiar feeling coming from his current body.

Bright silver light flashed across his eyes, and the space around the group of human martial artists seemed to have started collapsing on itself.

A look of horror appeared on the faces of these human martial artists, and there was absolutely nothing they could do.

Everything happened too fast.

Before anyone understood what was going on, there was no longer anything left.

In a mere instant, the group of human martial artists had completely vanished!

That was the last scene that entered Lu Tianzi's eyes before the world around him completely dissipated, replaced by a cloud of grey smoke that reformed into a pure white world.

"Cough! Cough!" Lu Tianzi desperately gasped for air.

With the transformation of the world around him, Lu Tianzi's consciousness had returned to his body, and the earlier pressure bearing down on his mind had completely vanished as well.

Even so, Lu Tianzi was still visibly affected by the ordeal, and had to spend some time recollecting his composure.

"You are still too weak," the treasure spirit spoke without a bit of tact. "For your current cultivation level, perhaps only this will be manageable for you."

Before Lu Tianzi could protest, the world around him had turned into a mass of grey smoke, transforming once again.

This time, the energy undulations from his body were the same as before, testament to the fact that Lu Tianzi had entered the body of the same person.

But unlike the scene earlier, he was now in a dense forest, facing a huge mirror that was positioned directly before him. There was no doubt in Lu Tianzi's mind that this mirror was none other than the ancient Grand Mirror of today.

From the reflection in the mirror, Lu Tianzi could finally see the looks of this person.

He looked far younger than Lu Tianzi had imagined, much like someone in his late twenties. Of course, looks were deceiving, especially for an expert of his level. He was not exceptionally tall, but his well-built body easily shone through his battle robe.

But apart from that, Lu Tianzi saw nothing that could even be remotely linked to the proud character from before.

His long black hair was a mess, drooping all over his face. There was battle marks all over his body, with multiple wounds and tears in his battle robe. On top of that, there was even a deep sense of anguish in his eyes as he continued to watch his own reflection in the mirror.

Lu Tianzi was secretly shocked in his heart.

What exactly happened for such a proud and lofty character to be reduced to such a despondent state?

"Let's go, Shafeng."

A solemn voice called out from behind.

"Okay," he nodded in response before taking a few steps back.

"Are you not taking the Limitless Reality Mirror with you?" the same voice asked.

"What is the point of bringing it back with me?" He let out a self-deprecating laugh. "All it will do is remind me of this day, of what I did. Rather than that, I might as well leave it in this world, hoping that it will one day provide some aid to the martial artists of the future."

"If that is your wish, then so be it. Let us go now."

"Yes, let us go now." Shafeng answered with a deep sigh before soaring into the skies.

At this moment, Lu Tianzi felt his consciousness fading away once more.

When Lu Tianzi regained his senses, he was back in the pure white world.

After returning, Lu Tianzi simply sat there in silence, his eyes closed in contemplation.

Standing before him, the treasure spirit waited patiently, opting not to disturb his thoughts.

Lu Tianzi remained seated there for a long time, drifting into a deep meditative state.

In his mind, the scenes that he had just experienced continued to replay themselves over and over.

Even though what he had just gone through was extremely short snippet of the ancient memories, they still revealed concepts far beyond what he had ever seen.

An army comprising hundreds of martial artists at the Origin Core realm and above, simultaneously summoning their Origin Totems in a concentrated attack!

Just what sort of power would be behind such an attack?

Was it even possible to resist something like that?

And then there was this man named Shafeng.

By now, Lu Tianzi was sure that even if Shafeng was not the originator of the Limitless Mirror Eye, he was at least someone who had practised it to an extremely high level.

With just a single look, he had completely wiped out a dozen opponents, reducing them to nothingness.

These were martial artists at the Origin Core realm and above!

Was this the true power of the Limitless Mirror Eye?

And yet even a seemingly omnipotent character like Shafeng had been reduced to such a pitiful state in the end, perhaps forced to face an opponent just as strong as he was.

Just by thinking up to here, Lu Tianzi's heart could not help but tremble in anticipation.

As expected, he still had a long way to go if he wanted to reach the pinnacle of martial arts!

This experience would only serve as a greater sense of motivation, driving him further forward on this long and arduous path.

But for now, what he should do was to glean as much insights as he could from the short memories that he had been exposed to!

Lu Tianzi had no idea how much time had passed before he finally opened his eyes again, finding himself facing his own reflection.

He was no longer in the pure white Grand Mirror World, but out in the Grand Mirror Courtyard.

No, perhaps he should stop calling it the Grand Mirror.

In those memories, Lu Tianzi had heard someone call it the Limitless Reality Mirror. That was probably its true name.

As for Grand Mirror, it was probably just something that the earlier members of the Nine Suns Sect had named it after discovering its traces.

Lu Tianzi got to his feet before clasping his fist towards the Limitless Reality Mirror.

"Thank you for the guidance, senior!" Lu Tianzi earnestly called out before turning to take his leave.

Actually, Lu Tianzi still had many unanswered questions in his heart.

From what he saw in the memories, it was highly probable that Shafeng had been in the world that he was currently in.

But if that was the case, just what influence did Shafeng belong to?

Where did the powerful group of human martial artists originate from? And were there any remaining traces of their heritage?

Had they been completely wiped out by the invaders that were Shafeng's army of hundreds?

Apart from that, there were also many other small doubts in Lu Tianzi's mind.

But no matter what, Lu Tianzi understood that at his current cultivation level, this was probably all that he could ever get out of the Limitless Reality Mirror.

After all, just taking a peek at the ancient memories had almost caused him to suffer a mental breakdown.

If he wanted to learn more, he would probably have to raise his cultivation level to at least the Origin Core, or even Overlord realm!

Even so, Lu Tianzi's takeaways this time could not be considered as little.

He had been able to witness a high level utilisation of the Limitless Mirror Eye, as well as experienced the summoning of Essence energy from a peerless master like Shafeng.

Having reached his level, Shafeng's command over his Essence energy had already reached a ridiculously high level, incorporating trace amounts of laws in each and every move.

While the same method might not be most suitable for Lu Tianzi, he could at least take reference from it and come up with a combat style that was ideal for him.

The same thing applied to the hundreds of Origin Totems from the army of experts.

Having been baptised by the combined pressure of these hundreds of Origin Totems, all of them containing traces of their own comprehensions of laws, Lu Tianzi was now able to identify these myriad of laws to a certain degree, improving his own comprehensions of them.

Surprisingly, his mental strength had also improved after having experienced the feeling of being subjected to such an immense pressure!

Considering all that, Lu Tianzi believed that he had certainly made the right choice in coming back here.

Now, all that was left was for him to internalise all that he had learnt, all so that he would be able to gain a greater edge during the war that was to come!
