"Will you shut up?"

Severus reprimanded him.

Past

Desella went back in a daze. Her mind was totally blank, it was as if she was lost in a crowd. Dilly-dallying she reached her home but before she could enter, she heard faint whispers.

"Honey, what should we do? Should we take her in?" A female voice whispered.

After the man heard the woman he tensed up and spoke, "Are you, idiot? No one knows who killed brother and sis-in-law and little seesy too. Only Desella was saved. I ain't implying that she killed them but I can't take in such an unfortunate kid. What if she is the real culprit who performed taboo art for powers? We can't believe her. Even if she is innocent, I still won't take her in"

"Honey I understand your views but don't forget Desella is the sole heir of this property. Brother and sis-in-law had too many estates under their name. If we don't take her in then somebody else will do, and enjoy the benefits. We need to make the first move honey."

"You know how much I believe in this sorcery and the level of dislike that I have them for it. No matter what, I won't take that witch in." The man rudely declared.

The women on the opposite started to lose calm.

"Then what about the money? Our children's future? Who is going to full fill all the promises and commitments that you promised me? I didn't say anything in the past because I thought it was just my luck and yours too but now when a golden opportunity is knocking on the door then why aren't you opening the door"

The man shrunk his lead low in guilt.

He was aware that his wife didn't like him, but it was not the case with him. She was his wife as well as his love. Under her pressure, he toughened up and decided to take her in.

"Okay I will take her in but if I became suspicious of her then she isn't coming back. You agree to this?"

"Yes, yes I do!" The women's eye showed a look of shamelessness and cruelty.

Despite understanding the situation they both decided to pay attention to her.

When Desella heard this from outside the door, her blood became cold and she started shivering.

Several thoughts came in her mind.

Despair!

Loneliness!

Betrayal.

Humilation.

Fear!

There were so many that he wasn't able to rephrase it.

The couple waited for a long time but no one came and now it was already 6 in the evening.

"Where did that brat ran? By any chance did she know that we came here to visit her and that's why didn't come up."

The man scowled in annoyance.

"Honey that isn't possible. We need her else we will loose this estate", the woman spoke maniacally. Her expressions were frightening and greed was shining in her eyes.

Desella got a heartattack.

What is this going on?

Why are her aunt and uncle here?

Why did they say that they want me?

Am I going to have the same fate as mom and dad have?

Desella asked herself several questions. She didn't want to believe what she saw but one can never run from reality. Although she didn't know who murdered her family but it was clear to her that in this world there was no one on which she can depend.

From now onwards she was just an orphan who needs to fight for her survival.

Hot tears fell from her eyes and soon she started sobbing quietly. She didn't how much time passed but till the time she came to her senses, she was frozen like a statue. It was already cold outside and the chilly winds that were blowing caused her face to redden up.

Actually, this chill was nothing compared to the chill that Desella's heart faced. Never in her wildest dream did she had imagined such a horrific dream. The visions of her parents and sister being brutally murdered was still on her mind and now witnessing this caused her heart to freeze. That day a sweet 16-year-old girl changed.

From being bubbly and compassionate she became a cold and ruthless girl.

She dried up her tears and waited till her aunt and uncle disappeared. Very quickly she collected all the hard cash and gold that was known to her and came outside.

She stood outside of her house and gazed at it. She was lost in a daze. As far as she can remember this house had always given her warm memories but now looking at this house she can no longer feel any warmth or closeness. It was now just a house for her. A teardrop rolled down on her cheeks as she bid goodbye to her life.

Bye! Home Sweet Home!

Bye Mommy!

Bye, Dad!

Bye, sessy!

I promise to avenge you and will only return after I kill them from my hands.

Desella vowed.

She turned around and started walking towards the forest and soon spotted him. A man with silver locks was standing under the shade of a tree. His half face was covered in darkness and the rest was shining like the moon. He was a cool beauty that gave a chilly vibe.

The man looked up and saw Desella when he heard soft footsteps.

"So, you decided? Very well then but before you make any final decision I need to give you a head's up"

The girl enlarged her big eyes in confusion and patiently waited for him to continue.

The man chuckled after seeing her expressions. It was the same expressions that an abandoned kitten used to have when someone was going to offer her milk but didn't give.

His smile was cold but somehow Desella felt warmth in it.

"Look kiddo, I am no saint, and you and I have no relation except of being a teacher and student. I admit that you were a bright student in studies but the things that we are going to learn now are going to solely depend on one's willingness. So if you think that you have an iron will to learn, then only you follow me otherwise you can go home. I can't take you in if you are just a scared cat. The place that I am going to take you doesn't have space for kids that shed tears. You understand."

"If I want to sum up this then I will say, You are on your own from now onwards".
