58 Rumor Mongering
Feng Jing found Ji Yu and gave some instructions to the other police officers before getting into the car and leaving with Ji Yu and Yin Tao.
“Captain Feng, are we going to the police station now?” Ji Yu asked Feng Jing, who was sitting in the front passenger seat.
“Yes, I’m going to investigate Zhou Nan, the suspect in the dismemberment case.” Feng Jing looked at Yin Tao in the back row and said, “I’ve already sorted out the personal information of the hooligan we met at the hotpot restaurant yesterday. I’ll send it to your phone later. Take a good look.”
When Ji Yu heard Feng Jing’s words, he complained, “Captain Feng, seriously? You went to the hotpot restaurant yesterday. Why didn’t you bring me along?”
“Why should you come everywhere? Do I have to bring you along to my private friend’s gathering?” Feng Jing looked at Ji Yu and pouted, indicating for him to drive properly.
“Well didn’t Dr. Yin go too?” Ji Yu glanced at Yin Tao through the rearview mirror and asked with a smile, “Dr. Yin, is Captain Feng also especially strict in private?”
“It’s alright. I haven’t known Brother Feng as long as you guys. Speaking of which, I don’t know him as well as you do.” Yin Tao felt that Ji Yu had indeed spent more time with Feng Jing than she had with him.
“I’m afraid only Captain Feng’s fiancée can make him reveal his true self.”
After Ji Yu finished speaking, he heard Yin Tao ask curiously, “Your Captain Feng has a fiancée?”
Yin Tao glanced at Feng Jing and noticed that his expression remained unchanged. She was a little curious about the fiancée that Ji Yu mentioned.
“Us police officers heard about it through the grapevine. Last time, when Captain Feng took a call from home, we heard a girl called Yuanyuan talking to Captain Feng. Her voice was very sweet.” Before Ji Yu could finish speaking, he felt a cold gaze on him.
“It’s illegal to create and spread rumors that have a serious impact,” Feng Jing said faintly, scaring Ji Yu so much that he didn’t dare say anything else.
Yin Tao didn’t think much of it and asked Feng Jing, “What kind of serious impact is this? Brother Feng, do you really have a fiancée?”
Yin Tao remembered that Feng Jing wasn’t dating anyone in the original novel. There shouldn’t be any changes now, but she still deliberately asked him this question.
“I won’t allow my family to matchmake me.” Feng Jing’s voice was very husky, he sounded like he was explaining.
Yin Tao nodded her head. She knew that Feng Jing’s family background was very good, so there would be many things beyond his control.
When the car arrived at the police station, Yin Tao had already ran through Zhou Nan’s personal information. He was 31 years old this year and had a criminal record of prostitution and assault. However, his sentence wasn’t very long. Yin Tao felt that it was either because his crime wasn’t serious enough, or because someone was secretly protecting him. Judging from how arrogant he was at the hotpot restaurant yesterday, Yin Tao felt that the second reason was more likely.
Before Feng Jing came, he had already contacted the people at the police station and so he got to meet Zhou Nan in the remand center very quickly.
Zhou Nan didn’t look very haggard. He looked as arrogant as he did the day before. He didn’t look like someone who had been arrested for causing trouble.
Feng Jing, Yin Tao, and Ji Yu walked into the interrogation room together. Zhou Nan was also brought in by the police.
“It’s you!” Zhou Nan was a little agitated when he saw Feng Jing. He was held back into his seat by the police. Zhou Nan looked at Feng Jing with a hostile gaze.
After being handcuffed to the chair, the police officers at the police station stood aside for Feng Jing to start the interrogation.
“Name, age, occupation, family situation…” Feng Jing sat opposite Zhou Nan. The aura around Zhou Nan was a little terrifying. This was the first time Yin Tao had seen Feng Jing facing a criminal. His powerful aura could deter any criminal.
“Aren’t you guys very good? Go and investigate yourself. Why are you asking me?” Not only did Zhou Nan despise the police, but his hostility towards Feng Jing also increased.
Feng Jing slammed the table angrily and reprimanded Zhou Nan, “You better explain it to me while my attitude is still good!”
Yin Tao and Ji Yu, who were behind Feng Jing, were shocked. However, Zhou Nan was unperturbed. He snorted and said, “What did I do? Was anyone injured? What right do you have to interrogate me?!”
Zhou Nan’s attitude was scoundrel-like. It seemed that he had been interrogated many times and was very experienced in dealing with the police.
“Don’t be so hostile. We just want to understand the situation with you.” Yin Tao couldn’t help saying when she saw that Feng Jing’s inquiry was getting him nowhere.
“Oh, such a pretty little girl is also a police officer?” When Zhou Nan saw Yin Tao behind Feng Jing, a malicious smile appeared on his face.
