“Do you mind releasing this net for a second…?” the white-haired lady who is renowned as the Witch of Isle inquired as I sat down on the grass bed together with Flora and Mana, ignoring her as we ate sandwiches that Mana made.
It was a sandwich with ham, cheese, cabbage, and tomato paired with mayonnaise that she managed to recreate simply through my description. Mana herself is an incredible cook, though we only discovered that fact a week ago after we bought our own kitchen equipment and bought a tiny residence near the school through a month and a half worth of my salary.
“Do you want some juice?” Mana asked as she wiped Flora’s cheeks that were riddled with mayonnaise and breadcrumbs. In response, Flora nodded as Mana took out a cup and a tumbler with apple juice from her lunch bag and filled the cup before handing it to Flora who soon took a sip on it.
“Err… can you at least let me drink…?” the white-haired lady asked as we continued to ignore her, enjoying our lunch out here as Mana handed me a cup of apple juice before I took a sip on it as the fresh, coldness of the apple juice pierced my mouth.
“How was it, did I do well this time?” Mana asked as Flora nodded with joy.
“Mwama cooks sooo well!” Flora said as she took another bite on her sandwich, munching it before taking a sip on her apple juice as a loud growl came from the white-haired lady who was now drooling hard.
“Uhh… can I at least have one piece, please…?!” the white-haired lady screamed but it was no use as we took it as if she never existed in the first place, enjoying our lunch before a loud burp came from Flora who was now laying on the grass bed.
“Mwama, Aywumi-ma, can we go home now?” Flora asked as I stood up and dusted off my dress before smiling at the two of them.
“We will go back home soon, don’t worry,” I said before taking a sandwich from the plate, walking towards the white-haired lady as I smiled evilly. I remember reading a manga in the past that said the worst torture is through hunger.
“Do you want some?” I asked before the white-haired lady looked at me with saliva dripping from her mouth but quickly retracted her drool as she pouted.
“No, who would want to eat that trash?” she said before taking a peek at the sandwich as a tiny drool left her mouth which was amusing to see.
“I see, you don’t want to eat… then that’s fine for me,” I said before taking a part of the sandwich, slowly placing it on my mouth as the white-haired lady looked with saliva dripping from her mouth as she gulped.
“Mhm… it tastes nice, want some?” I asked while taking another part of the sandwich and placing it before her as more saliva dripped from her mouth. The more she tries to resist, the more she will cry of hunger!
“Bwah! Aren’t you super evil?!” the white-haired lady said as I ate the piece in one go before smiling at her who was disappointed.
“How about saying that to the person who tried attacking us?” I said whistling as her cheeks puffed up like a pufferfish.
“I was only playing around! After all, who wouldn’t want to see the powers of the couple who have been said to destroy an entire tribe of goblins in one quest…” she responded, pouting as I chuckled, snapping my fingers at the net vanished before standing up.
“Well, I wouldn’t want to stay here for an entire night… so, where are the quest items that we need to deliver?” I asked before she pointed at the wooden hut over the distance. It was a simple wooden hut with a roof of hay. A poor man’s house.
After pointing at the wooden hut, she then turned towards Mana who was handing her a sandwich as the white-haired lady happily took it before taking a bite as she screamed in delight, “This is sooo delicious! Where did you buy this?!”
“I made it,” Mana said with pride as the white-haired lady soon kneeled down, bowing to Mana as she pleaded.
“I am sorry for trying to attack you, can I get more?” she asked before Mana chuckled as she responded, “Feel free to have another one, there’s plenty,” before the white-haired lady looked at Mana with shiny eyes as she took another one before screaming in delight as I smacked her head.
“How about we continue lunch later and finish this quest first, we still have to bring Flora to class soon, after all…” I said before Mana nodded as the white-haired lady glared at me before standing up as she pouted with sadness.
“Fine… but let me eat another sandwich later,” she said as Mana nodded before the four of us soon made our way towards the hut with Flora who had dozed off being carried by Mana, her usual sleeping place.
After a short while, we soon reached outside the hut where the white-haired lady pushed open the door before dust exploded from within as piles and piles of empty glass bottles came to sight with a bag on the corner that seemed to be newly packed.
“You only have to escort me towards the city and the quest will be done then, if you add two sandwiches then I will be willing to add an extra gold coin to the reward,” she said before Mana agreed as she handed two sandwiches before the white-haired lady’s eyes shined as the two sandwiches vanished with a single gold coin replaced.
“Well then, let’s make our way back…” I said before they nodded as we soon made our way towards the city peacefully with no interruptions other than a few goblins that were demolished within a single kick, considering that I had grown twenty levels since then.
After an hour, we soon reached the city where the guards questioned our entrance for a second, requesting for our identification cards as both Mana and I showed our school identification cards and a special one for Flora before they let us go as the white-haired lady showed a different identification card which was also allowed.
“This marks the end of your quest, here is your reward…” the white-haired lady said as she gave us five gold coins each and a scroll which we use to show to the guild that we have completed the quest with no issue.
After handing us our rewards, the white-haired lady soon left as a sudden thought came to my mind, which led me to ask Mana, “Don’t you think she is a bit familiar?”
“Hmm… now that I think about it, doesn’t she resemble that certain vocalist of the Band of Dragons?” Mana said as the figure of the white-haired vocalist of the Band of Dragons came to mind, both had golden eyes and always had a crown braid.
“That makes more sense now why she felt familiar…” I said before shrugging off the sudden realization as I held Mana’s hand who smiled.
“Let’s start making our way to the guild now, shall we?” I suggested as she nodded before the two of us soon made our way towards the guild, handed the scroll as the reception punched the scroll, and rose our rank by another tier making the two of us middle B ranks now.
After the short trip to the guild, we soon started making our way back to our residence where a certain blue-haired older sister-like lady stood there waiting with her hand waving towards us. It was none other than Kayla, the onee-san girl.
“Ara-ara! The two of you are really sweet as always, I have some good news!” she said as sweat dripped from my forehead, knowing that this girl tends to have bad news instead of good news, especially when you look at those large chests of her that screams depression.
