Eldrian nodded and quickly explained that it was easier for Chosen due to the way in which they were brought to Gaia. He had no reservations in sharing everything with her. Outside of the fact that this was a simulation and that the AI were gods, naturally. And that he had met a few of them.
He had to at least make sure to not mention anything that he hadn't shared with Miracle in some way. Though, talking about magic was fine. If he didn't share, the reason was clearly because no one would understand. Thus it would just be a waste of time to share.
"I see, if your soul in the Mageia Avyssos, then it makes sense that you would be able to gain access to it far easier. Still, where did you find the time?" Zamia really couldn't understand how Eldrian had been able to make all these breakthroughs and also discover so many other things.
Shrugging, Eldrian didn't know what to say to her answer her question. He had just been blindly stumbling, looking for a way that might work. Most of the time he had to forgo the path he had found, it either not being useful or he was incapable of making use of it.
Zamia downed her cup of tea, and then another. The calming effect just barely managing to help her clear her mind.
Even with it being easier, being able to enter the magic abyss at will was still amazing and it normally took mages years to learn. Always by Tier 5 or higher too, often only Tier 7 or up.
Naturally, this was completely different for magical creatures. They were already so entuned with magic that they never needed the crutch that Skepsi, the goddess of magic, had made for the other races. The magic abyss wasn't a thing for them, they all cast on feel and imagination.
True dynamic casting.
"Are there any other shocking discoveries you want to share?" Zamia asked, wanting to get the shocking things over with so she could focus on his questions more.
Eldrian nodded, causing her to take a big gulp of tea in preparation. "I modified a few spells and also made a unique one."
This was less of a shock, making spells was nothing special to a dynamic magic-user. Without the limitation of spell modules, spells would just flow through people. The tricky part was actually casting the same spell again.
It was so dependant on their mood, thoughts, and inspiration, that more often than not they would be unable to reproduce the same spell. Normally, they would just cast something that was similar, but not the same.
Naturally, with training, they could learn specific spells. But that took much more time, and even with that, the spell they trained would differ from the one they had first made. In certain situations, it would also cast differently. Especially if emotions are high.
The modification of spells was more impressive, but again, Zamia expected that seeing as Eldrian didn't use magic statically. His in-between method should make it possible to get benefits from both methods, and also possibly the downsides.
"What spells did you modify?" She asked first, more curious about this. Of course, she had no idea of Creation, even Amnur was unaware of what had caused the explosion. He only knew Eldrian was responsible.
"I started with Tier 0 spells first, testing what the changes would do. Slowly I moved on to Tier 1 spells but I failed to ever have one stick. Until I attempted to change Magic-Inspection. I developed a spell that allowed me to see the mana in the air, and it is also how I gained mana sense."
Eldrian's explanation was short, but it left Zamia deep in thought. 'He gained an ability through training? No, that is impossible. Understanding then?' This was extremely impressive, while most people only knew that abilities were bloodline-related. A few, such as Zamia, were aware that one could gain abilities through certain feats.
Normally, however, it would take much more than what Eldrian had shared. This is why she felt he had to have gained a unique understanding that led to him creating the ability unknowingly.
Yes, certain abilities could be created. They were few and far between though.
"Impressive," Zamia said after sorting her thoughts, taking another sip, and asking what other spell he had created.
"That... The spell is called Creation but I have no idea what it does and nearly died casting it."
Hearing this Zamia suddenly felt she had underestimated the elf before her. Taking another sip, she asked how he had made it.
"Well, I was trying to understand how death, or rather undeath magic... Necromancy, worked. And after a few tests, I felt that the missing piece of the puzzle was divine magic."
Suddenly, Zamia became serious, "You couldn't have... Like us, you are blocked from receiving a gods' blessing." However, as she said it, she also realized that Chosen had plenty of godly blessings. He might just be the first High Elf to be capable of using divine magic. A scary thought.
"Oh, no. I didn't manage to cast divine magic." Eldrian said, much to her relief. She didn't know what she would have done if he could. For sure, she would have flown him to the empire and gotten the pope to teach him.
Never had there been a dynamic divine magic caster.
Never.
It would change the world.
"But I did manage to take control of divine spells."
Hearing this, the tea that she had just sipped flew into the air as she looked at Eldrian in bewilderment.
"You what? How? No? How?"
"Right, remember earlier when I mentioned that Ether should also just be mana. Well, divine magic is also just mana. Realizing this, I managed to take control of the spell a friend was casting on me. Though, I couldn't add more mana to it. I could only throw it back at him."
Zamia's crystal clear blue eyes twitched as she heard Eldrian explaining this. He made it sound so simple, yet, she couldn't even follow his train of thought. Mana was just mana? No, mana was mana, but the elements were the elements too.
"So if you didn't-" She paused as she looked at him and came to a realization that shocked her to her core. "Did you-"
"No, it isn't a divine spell. As I said, I can't form the mana needed for divine magic." Eldrian answered her unspoken question, relieving Zamia's rapidly beating heart.
"What that had taught me, however, was that magic isn't all about mana and the elements. It isn't about the aspect either. I learned that it is about your will, taking control of mana and bringing it to form."
Zamia nodded, this was the basis of Dynamic casting. However, the path Eldrian had gone to come to this simple conclusion still left her dazed.
"Then, what spell did you create? What does Creation do?"
"I have no idea..." Eldrian sat shrugged and sat back in the chair, "It exploded on me since I didn't have enough mana to keep it stable."
"After failing to feed it enough mana, it started sucking in the mana of the surrounding like an empty void. Hungering for mana like nothing I had ever seen. Exploding once it became too unstable. Nearly killing me and my friend, luckily I had expected I would lose control."
