Chapter 37 - Nels

Now in front of her room, Ethan knocked, saying

"Lefiya, are you awake?"

Hearing these words, She replied

"Y-Yes, I'm awake..but..."

Opening the door without actually showing up, she added

"I..Ais come in.. I need to t-talk with you!"

Looking towards Ethan, Ais saw him nodding. Without hesitation, she entered while closing the door behind her.

After 5 minutes, She came out of Lefiya's room, saying

"She needs..to have a bath..."

Understanding, Ethan wanted to laugh but, without doing it, he said

"Oh, In that case, you should go with her while I'll go in the one for males, after the bath, we can gather at the exit of the Twilight Manor"

With this, Ethan went to the bathroom. Although he never bathed in the familia bathrooms, he knew they had to be more enjoyable than doing baths in his own room.

Reaching his destination, he saw the men entrance. Entering it, he undressed before getting a towel. Wrapping it around his lower body, he entered the actual bathroom.

'It's almost identical to Japan'

Seeing the washing area, he took a washing bucket before filling it with the water of the bath itself. Sitting on a stool, he washed his body with the water.

Wanting to wash his hair, he put his hand behind his towel before buying liquid soap. Costing 5SP, he didn't found anything wrong in his action.

After this, he decided to enter the soak in the bathing area. Entering the bath, Ethan felt good.

'Even if not comparable to the Japanese ones, they are good..'

Closing his eyes, He felt a man staring at him. Opening again his eyes, he stared at him back while saying in a low voice

"What do you want?"

"You shouldn't act so scary!"

Looking away from the man, Ethan decided to ignore him. But, what he didn't know was that the man, expected to interact with him from the moment he started to become a 'plague' for the familia.

Approaching him, the man whispered

"You are nothing without your girls to protect you"

Trying to understand his words, this time Ethan felt really annoyed.

"You should shut your mouth otherwise you won't even know how you will find yourself on the ground"

Laughing, the man replied

"Go call your girls, It's easy to talk big while you're protected by women, huh?"

The man wasn't stupid. Although the strength of the girls who protected him was absolute, the man was sure of one thing

'a man's pride..'

With his smile growing larger, he saw the boy with a face that clearly stated he was angry. The man knew that he was a level 2 because of Loki but, the fact he was a level 3 made his confidence rise to the extreme.

"Do you want to hit me? Well, we should go out and talk about it, is it okay for you?"

His plan was rather simple. He will force the boy in front of him to fight where other people of the familia could watch him. Although he would be accused of bullying a level 2, it was nothing in front of the anger he felt for this boy.

'I will make you pay, you piece of sh*t'

Without saying anything related to it, Ethan replied in a calm tone

"If you want to destroy your life that much, Who am I to contradict you?"

Thinking he was talking about what would Loki do after learning about what happened, the man's smile didn't fade

'I'm not so stupid. I'm not alone.'

Laughing in his mind, the man didn't say anything.

"Oh, so it's your Space Magic, I see"

Without replying, Ethan exited the bathroom.

'Looks like you want to be beaten easily. Just because you have some stupid magic that doesn't mean anything in front of true power.'

getting dressed quickly, the man looked at his underlings. Raising his index finger, his men understood the signal and started to shout.

"Look, It's the new adventurer of our familia!"

Although there wasn't a lot of people, most elites weren't here except one.

Seeing the new adventurer of their familia, they remembered the fact he was always with the Sword Princess and the Thousand Elf.

With the people looking strangely at him, Ethan saw a man grin while adding

"He is stealing all our core members like nothing, what a womanizer"

Influenced by the man's words, all the other men looked at Ethan with jealousy clearly showed on their faces.

'So that's what you had in mind.. How stupid.'

Looking towards the man, he felt disgusted by his actions.

"Your theory failed from the very moment you saw a woman as some object you can steal. I didn't do anything like that."

While saying these words, he activated his [Boost Magic] in his legs. Moving at a speed impossible to follow with the n.a.k.e.d eye, he went behind the man that shout the earlier phrase.

Seeing Ethan disappear from his previous location, only to reappear behind his own underling, the man felt a shiver down his spine..

'What the f*c--'

Before he could even organize his thoughts, Ethan hit the underling on the neck, making him lose consciousness

'Man, I've always wanted to do that'

Laughing, Ethan returned in his location, shocking everyone in the hall.

"He... He's so fast! I didn't even see him.."

Nodding, another man replied

"I didn't see anything either."

With the crowd acknowledging Ethan's strength, he looked at the men that had jealousy in their eyes.

"You are so easily influenced by this garbage, do you even consider yourself a man?"

Although they wanted to reply, his words immediately brought their mouths closed.

'He's..not that bad?'

Most female adventurers that previously ignored their outburst, heard what he said previously. Considering women as an object made them feel sick of their own comrades but, Ethan's words concentrated all their attention on him.

Meanwhile, the man looked at the other underlings he had in the crowd. Although his attempts to ruin his image failed, he was sure he could easily defeat him.

On the other hand, he was still a level 3, close to level 4. Thinking a level 2 newbie could defeat him made him feel sick.

'That's just impossible.'

Regaining his confidence, the man shouted

"You are all talk but you just want them to protect you, isn't that right?"

Hearing these words again, Ethan looked at the man another time. He understood the fact he should never underestimate someone, so, without attacking, he said

"From my perspective you are the one who always talks instead of act."

Gritting his teeth, the man decided it was better to make him lose face now without thinking about the consequences of his actions.

'I will show you true power..'

Having a skill that can raise his POW to the extreme, he activated it while raising his fist. Although his speed wasn't comparable to Ethan when his [Boost Magic] was used only in his legs, he needed to spread the magic all over his body to protect him.

This brought their speed almost on par. Although this was something only Ethan knew. Seeing that the man's POW was higher than his own with the boost, he slowed his perception of time.

'You are certainly strong, but you made the wrong enemy.'

Using the moment while the man was attacking, he went behind him, hitting his head so hard to make the man lose consciousness.

Seeing him slowly falling towards the ground, he sighed internally.

'I would like to make him suffer even more, but unfortunately he decided to fight me right in front of a crowd of people.'

Resuming his normal perception, he looked at the unconscious man. Looking towards the other possibly underlings of the man, he said

"Want to be the next?"

Although he sounded calm, They understood how angry he was and, feeling a chill down their spine, they retreated.

In the crowd, there was someone else that sighed.

'You should really be called King of Bakas from now on.'

Seeing them running away, Ethan wanted to report them all to Loki but, before he could, the crowd began to clap their hands.

"You are so powerful! Are you sure you're a level 2?"

"That was amazing, I never saw someone hit Nels like this"

"Yeah...he isn't like what they said, he is strong."

Although the women didn't show much interest in Ethan, now felt touched by his actions.

'Women aren't objects.. I wonder if he is serious. All men show their true colours after a while.. I will watch you, Ethan"

With this, the women turned around and exited the Twilight Manor.

He didn't know that, his words will brought him to the topic of discussion by many. For now, Ethan saw Ais and Lefiya get close to make sure everything was ok.

Going to them, he said

"Wait, Ais, Lefiya we should go to Loki. These people attacked me saying I was stealing girls."

Hearing his words, They showed a confused expression. The first to realize the situation he was in was Lefiya that, with a blush, said

"I-I-I will go explain the situation!"

Seeing her running towards Loki's room, Ethan sighed

"Did they attack you..? Are you hurt..?"

Without the crowd uttering a word, he replied with a smile

"I'm fine, I fought avoiding damaging the hall, but I was still able to overpower them."

Hearing this, they looked around, finding his words to be true.

'He was fighting...without damaging the hall!?'

Still in their shock, they saw Ethan and Ais hold hands. Nobody had the force to even be surprised but, there was one person that made a 'tch'.

Seeing the core member he knew well exit the Manor, Ethan wanted to laugh

'I hope you will find a person to love too, Bete'

Although he was insulted by him numerous times, he felt that a girlfriend would be the best heal for his behavior.

'The real challenge is to find someone that will like him'

Now in front of Loki's room, he knocked while thinking

'Really, what a stupid man'
