Chapter 42 - The Right Way

While Ethan was busy on his training, the situation for others was different. After Loki's messenger arrived speaking for the goddess, the Ganesha Familia didn't accept immediately.

"Do you think it's a good idea!? It will increase our resources but if that boy isn't capable enough..."

Hearing the Captain of his Familia, Ganesha had a smile on his face.

"Can you confirm that Loki is proposing such a thing?"

Hearing this, the messenger bowed

"It's as you say, Ganesha-sama, Loki-sama strictly told me to speak on her behalf, I would never disrespect her."

With a nod, He looked at her Captain again

"Loki would never do such a thing if she wasn't absolutely sure in his success. Honestly I'm interested too in this boy. Although nobody is talking about this, he reached Level 2 in a week. How can I, Ganesha, not test his skills personally?"

Without looking at him, Shakti was thinking about the situation

'A level 2 that can fight against groups of enemies at a higher level..? Honestly it's unbelievable. But it was Loki-sama that asked us...'

"Maybe if he can amaze you, I can ask him to take you as a concubi--"

Before he could finish, Shakti punched him on the face, throwing him away

Seeing this scene, the messenger had a shocked look on his face.

'She just punched her god...scary...'

With a deadly look, Shakti looked at him

"What"

Feeling involved, he replied in a frightened voice

"N-Nothing! I reported Loki-sama message, so I should really go now!"

Trying to escape from the door, Shakti stopped him, saying

"You can tell Loki-sama that we'll accept her offer to make an event. The final part will be used by Ethan to do what he needs to."

With his nod, She let him go before seeing him run away from her. With a sigh, she sat on the desk, filling out the necessary doc.u.ments.

'3 days from now..'

Getting up, Ganesha saw the man was gone. With a laugh, he went near Shakti, saying

"We should do a classic show and then let the boy take care of the situation"

Still thinking it was too risky for a level 2 adventurer, she wanted to say something but, the fact she didn't know the boy, nor she could change the event now that it was confirmed, tied her hands completely.

'I can do nothing for you... I'm sorry'

Nodding, she added

"We will attract the crowd by confirming that the Loki familia will be affiliated to the event as scheduled. We shouldn't talk about the boy before the event. Other than this, we should quickly go in the dungeon for taming new monsters. Those we have now will be used for the event. For the Monster Feria..."

Seeing she wasn't paying anymore attention to him, Ganesha exited the room.

"Guess I'll go check on the others"

With the news of Ethan regarding Ais, there was also his level up that didn't go unnoticed. In front of a crystal ball, there was a Goddess, actively watching Ethan and Ais train, with a wine glass in her hand.

'From the first moment I saw you...'

Understanding his Goddess was deeply interested in the boy to go that far, Ottar replied

"As you wish, Freya-sama"

With a smile, she continued to watch the crystal ball

"I'm sure something will happen seeing how hard he is training...just the thought makes me... excited"

Without bothering to add more, she undressed. With a hot sigh, she said

"Help this goddess to get rid of her needs.."

Returning to Ethan, he was training in close combat. Although he couldn't hit her, he started to predict some of her blows, but even so, they were too fast to be dodged.

'She's really doing her best to train me harder...'

With a confused expression, She looked at his determined one

"You don't need to be stronger than me to be able to stay at my side, I...it isn't necessary.. I know you will become really strong in the future"

Thinking about her words for a moment, Ethan slapped himself on the cheeks simultaneously. Seeing this, she was worried he misunderstood something but, he immediately cleared his action

"This situation has conditioned my way of seeing things... I won't fight for that reason. They will understand that I'm not protected by anyone. I was so focused on this while, as you said, there's no need to show them that I am able to stand by your side..."

With a nod, she 'smiled'. Taking advantage of his distraction, she tried to attack him. Something she didn't expect however, was the fact that Ethan wasn't taken aback. Parrying her hit, he used the time while she was surprised to counterattack.

Although he didn't manage to hit her, he managed to put her at disadvantage for a moment.

Seeing that his plan didn't work, Ethan felt a little sad

'Although she's a level 5, I can't even hit her like this'

Without losing himself in thoughts, He retreated while adjusting the daggers in his hands.

'I need to find an opening...easy to say..'

Before they could face each other again, they heard a voice..

Drying the tears, Lefiya replied

"R-Riveria..said after the Ganesha Familia's event we should return listening to her lessons, what do you think?"

With a nod, Ethan moved to an area where he was alone

'If I can even speed the velocity of the water, I can surely do this..'

Cutting his finger with his dagger, Ethan felt the pain and saw the blood flowing out of the cut. Boosting the regeneration of his index finger, the pain eased while the blood stopped.

After some seconds, the cut disappeared as if it wasn't even there moments before. Surprised by this, he tried again. With the result being the same as before, he thought

'The effect is better than I thought... Although I can't test it with a deeper cut, It is enough to know I can do this'

By choosing the same point as last training, he tried to move differently

'Predictable movements are the basis of the fighting, that's why having skills that can make them unpredictable can make someone very strong in a short period of time'
