Chapter 189 - Maids

After taking his time in the bathroom, Ethan still had an opportunity to rearrange his thoughts, as by the time Tiona realized he was losing himself in his thoughts, she had realized it was best to not disturb him any further...

Then, after a quiet and relaxing bath, Ethan preceded Tiona getting out of the bath first.

By dressing in the new clothes he had recently bought, Ethan was ready for his morning training of today, and similarly, he had set to enter the [True Dungeon] that same day, since there were too many things to discover as he didn't even enter the first floor of the Dungeon just yet.

'..I wonder what was that presence I felt back then'

He remembered shortly before transporting away Maple from the building similar to the Guild's, he was certain a rather heavy presence was a stone's throw from him, as if it were ready to strike, although it didn't seem to actually have the will to do so.

Although he was worried about it, Ethan was confident he could escape if things would get too dangerous, and while these thoughts were in his mind, he was now on his way to the kitchen..

Upon his arrival, Ethan saw that the girls were working together to prepare breakfast, but before he could even greet them, Riveria looked at him with the tip of her eye, because she had already understood what had happened in the bathroom, and although it wasn't anything serious, she knew it would make Lefiya feel awkward, so she just passed her eyes on him before she went back to what he was doing.

The moment their gazes met, Ethan understood why she was looking at him, but seeing she just returned to her work, he smiled before he heard Riveria 'greeting' him.

"...Good Morning, Ethan"

"G-Good Morning.."

Responding to their greetings with a greeting of his own, Ethan offered to help in the kitchen, but was refused by Hestia, replying there was no need for his help now.

With nothing else to do, Ethan looked around to find Maple, but remembering by now she had found a favourite place to sleep, he looked over the couch, and seeing Maple lying there as usual, he went to sit next to her.

Recognizing Ethan, Maple quietly approached him and, while her tail wagged side to side, she rested next to him while he felt compelled to c.a.r.e.s.s her soft fur...

'It seems we both have nothing to do now...'

But it was just when he was thinking that, he heard someone open the door of his house, and even though it would normally alarm him, Ethan had already figured out who the 'guest' was, given the circ.u.mstances, but especially the fact only one person had the key of his house besides himself...

"Yo!"

Saying this without a care in the world, Loki entered his house while Ethan sighed and responded to her casual greeting.

"..You could at least knock before bumping in...Good Morning though, I didn't expect you to come so early in the morning.."

To this answer, everyone in the kitchen was now aware Loki had arrived, and although Lefiya would have liked to respond to her own Goddess' greeting, she understood the latter didn't seem interested in this for the time being.

"Well, I had something to discuss with you, but first..."

Passing his gaze to the kitchen, Loki sat on the couch opposite the one where Ethan and Maple were sitting before letting her eyes meet Riveria's.

"Riveria, I need to discuss with---"

She was felt it was odd to see Riveria in a group making breakfast, since most of the time she appeared as a taciturn person, more suitable for solitary work, but although seeing her now like that had shocked her a bit, This feeling was overwhelmed at the moment Loki realized Hestia was also present.

"Ch--..Hestia?! The hell are you doing in Ethan's house..."

Although she had tried in vain to hide behind Lefiya, Hestia knew it wouldn't take long for Loki to realize she was also present and, now that she had been 'discovered', Hestia sighed knowing she would have to explain the situation in which she and Lili were at the time.

"I-It's remarkable that you managed to find me so easily, you indeed have a keen eye, Loki..!"

Saying these words knowing what awaited her, Hestia added nothing more while Loki turned to look at Ethan, but the latter ignored her gaze while Riveria, who had understood Loki had to talk to her, decided to break the strange atmosphere.

"I think it's better to head upstairs, there's another place we can talk freely.."

"There's no need for that...I wanted to introduce the maids I brought here as you asked...but I didn't expect Hestia to be here, so I want at least an explanation about this..."

Looking elsewhere, Hestia completely ignored Loki's words while the latter, with a bored sigh, snapped her fingers and as she did so, two girls entered the front door..

""It's a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you, Ethan-sama...""

Hearing these words, Ethan's concentration shifted to the door and, getting out of the crouch, so that he could take a look at the two maids Loki had decided were suitable for the job, Ethan was surprised.

The first of the two in fact, had a very slender body, with a narrowed face, long azure hair that stopped at her lower back, with eyes of the same colour and an expression that showed all the embarrassment felt by the latter, but even if her attitude seemed 'suitable' for her features, Ethan had noticed the ears popping over her head, irrefutable proof that in front of him there was a Werewolf.

'...Maybe it's because I only know of one annoying werewolf that my vision of them changed so drastically. I find weird that she's so similar to Lefiya, even though her race is known for being very aggressive, but other than that, she's a very beautiful woman..'

Although Ethan at this point wondered why such a person had decided to become a maid in a place like this instead of doing something more aimed at fighting, Ethan decided to keep this kind of question for later, since he hadn't yet got a chance to take a look at the other maid who at the time was 'showing due respect' to him, that would soon be their effective Master...

"..Please raise your heads, it's not necessary to bow."

Having been able to see a tail sticking out of the dress she was wearing, along with Chienthrope ears on the sides of her head, he was surprised by the fact her hair length was similar to the first girl's, even if all the other Chienthropes he saw had short hair...

But speaking of the clothes they were wearing, both wore a classic maid dress, with stockings that were of an intense black colour. They reached up to the top of their t.h.i.g.hs, making the dress itself more e.r.o.t.i.c than normal...

'This must be Loki's doing..I wonder what did she do to convince these two in serving under me...'

It was the first time Ethan actually had people who would work under him, and even if this wasn't the first time, the fact the first girl was still apologizing while the second one seemed to be still asking for his forgiveness, he had no idea exactly why they seemed to want to apologize so much, since his action wasn't offensive at all, and Ethan was already used to dealing with that type of person...

"Rather than apologizing, can you introduce yourselves..? I don't need you to apologize only for not looking at me in the eyes, it's not a big deal..."

At her words, the second girl nodded as a sign of having understood his words, while the first one found it difficult to raise her head again, so she decided to forget the idea of meeting his gaze for the moment, even though she wanted to evaluate him as well...

"I apologize if I didn't introduce sooner.. My name is Glenda Acanthus, as you could guess, I'm a Chienthrope..."

Meeting his gaze again, Glenda was shocked by the fact Ethan didn't seem to be disgusted by her hair, which brought her much surprise, since many of the people she had dealt with in the past were disgusted by the length of her hair.

When asked, Ethan looked at her long brown hair, but although he had pondered about the fact he had never seen a Chienthrope with such long hair before, she didn't know Ethan actually preferred long hair more...

"Why would I be disgusted by the length of your hair...? If you want to ask if I felt something was strange yes, I was wondering why I never saw a Chienthrope with long hair before but...that's all.."

To be honest, Ethan didn't know how to answer, just because the question itself made no sense to him. Disgusting something just because he had never seen it before was certainly not his style, but first her hair made her even more special than a normal Chienthrope, so Ethan didn't understand the reason for this question, but by the tone she used, he could grasp his simple vision of the matter had been enough to surprise Glenda...

"As I told you, this boy is different from the sc.u.m you are used to, Glenda. Don't act so surprised."
