In the village, Akanji appears in one of his exotic cars together with his wife and heads straight to his in-laws' house. He is warmly welcome by Risi's parents as her father has been persuaded to forgive Akanji for what he has earlier done by making his daughter to elope with him.

Soon as they settle down, he asks to take a leave to see his friend at the sawmill. He is again warmly received by Karimu who conducts him around the sawmill for supervision. After a little chat, they decide to meet later in the evening at Karimu's new palatial house right there in the village. He leaves and heads straight to his former residence in the village which has been left desolate.

Instructing his driver to park the car nearby, he alights and goes over to check the old house. After this he walks over to his neighbour's house and cries out for her.

Akanji: Old witch!

Iya Agba: [coming out of her house] Olowo ojiji!

Akanji: [repeating] Old witch!

Iya Agba: Olowo ojiji, Kaabo o

Akanji: I finally escape from you.

Iya Agba: You are deceiving yourself. That house that you abandoned, you are still coming back to live in there.
