Father kept his word and took me out again. When I met with Donne, we continued with our training.
" Okay, Mirta, now try to sense mana without seeing it."
I tried to recollect those feelings when I first did it and to my great astonishment, failed!
" Donne! How come am I failing?! I did everything in the same way!" I turned to face Donne and saw that this time he is very attentive to my practice and observing my every move. This much attention made me feel a little uncomfortable.
" Just like he said, huh...." Donne muttered. " Mirta, come here."
I obediently approached him. His umber eyes locked my very soul, making me freeze.
" You can not sense mana-flow, because last time you depended on your sense of 'Vision', when you were supposed to develop and nourish your sixth sense, ' Regulation'. It would have allowed you to manage ,mana easily and bring out your full potential."
" Wow, you know so much..." He is really knowledgeable. Well figures if you already lived through 350 years. Hold on...
I fixed his face between my palms. Pinning down his shocked eyes.
" Donne, just who are you? You are strong, beautiful Ago, The King and guardian of all Agos. I know this much. I'm sure it's true. I saw how Agos obeyed you. What bugs me is that, at first you said that Agos usually don't leave this forest; however, your knowledge is not something that can be learnt living only inside. Also, I noticed that sometimes you mention someone and at those kind of moments, your gaze always sparkles." I peered into is orbs making my resolution to know as clear as possible.
His eyes widened in surprise and laughed. His beak produced loud noise that my magic couldn't nullify. I let go of his face and retreated trying to decrease this attack. My consciousness was on the verge of disappearing and I swayed from side to side like a grass on a windy day. I should've Never forgotten that he is Magical Beast... I was way too careless. Seriously, I should become stronger! I am sick of being dizzy after every magical interaction! Everything grew dark, but I still could hear Donne's laugh.
****************
I woke up in my bed. I tried to move, but was unable to lift a single finger.
" What's going on?!" I screamed as panic overwhelmed me. Following this Father entered with grim and worried expression on his face. When I saw his face, I calmed down and got my emotions under control before asking him about the situation. He sat next to me looking right into my soul.
" Mirta, that person I told you about previously, appeared again with you in his hands. He said he found you on the outskirts of the forest, lying unconscious. What were you doing there?" His usually calm, silly and easy going attitude vanished without leaving a trace, as if he was a completely different person. Shivers ran down my spine as I looked right into his cold eyes.
" I-i..... " my voice grew weaker. The situation would be a little better if I could seat, but I was paralyzed. I didn't know what to say. I was attacked by Donnes laugh? I was training my magic with Magical Beast, The King of Ago-birds? Heck! I don't even know what to think anymore! If you look at it from a different angle, I meen, not from my perspective, my activities were nothing but dangerous!
" Mirta..." Father's weak voice brought me out of my daze. It seems that I turned my head to the side while thinking. I met his glance and noticed that it was no longer cold, but filled with worry.
" Dad, I-I went there to practise magic. I met a very nice person there and he was willing to teach me."
I couldn't bring myself to tell a lie when his eyes were literally holding back tears. Did he blame my condition on himself?
" Who is that person?"
" The King of Ag-go...birds..." Father's eyes widened, as if they were planning to pop out of his sockets.
" Ag-g-g-o birds... The King?! Mirta! Why didn't you tell us about it?! You do realize that It was a Magical Beast?! Agos are not a treat, but the King can very well kill a well trained guard at the townsgates!"
" He wouldn't do that!" I objected, " We only spoke about things a little and he taught me a little magic! He never attacked me!"
" The how would you explain your condition!? You are clearly paralyzed and that is most probably an aftereffect of 'Laugh of the wrath'! One of his abilities!"
"...."
I didn't know what to say. His thinking wasn't wrong, it was me who brought it up on myself.
" It was an accident..."
" An accident?" I found a hint on how to save this whole situation in his response.
