Max and Liz were in the car, on their way to Seattle where their pre-wedding party will start as soon as they arrive.
The two lovebirds didn't want to hold bachelor's and bachelorette's parties separately because they wanted all of their friends together, and Max and Liz didn't want to separate.
Since the kidnapping, Max, and Liz were sticking together most of the time; it was not about safety how much it was their need to spend every minute with each other because every moment counts. That ordeal reminded them that any moment could be their last and that they need to make the most of it, and they were happiest when they were together.
Considering how all guys abandoned Hunter's bachelor's party in order to join the ladies, no one objected to the idea of having one big, combined party. Besides, they did the same when Angela and Derek got married one month ago, and it was amazing.
Max and Liz had no idea what to expect related to the pre-wedding party. Quentin and Andrea (aka the best man and the maid of honor) took care of all arrangements, leaving the newlyweds in the dark.
Quentin was Max's obvious choice for his best man, and Liz surprised everyone when she picked Andrea. Liz couldn't decide between Mia and Brianna and she went with her next choice. Andrea was ecstatic. Everyone knew that Andrea has a special place in her heart for Liz, and considering Andrea's history of hostility with Max, Andrea never dreamed that she will have such an important role at Max's wedding.
Max accepted the fact that Andrea was not going anywhere, and he didn't want to argue with Liz about this. He knew that Liz's gesture is partly because she believes that this might improve the relationship between Max and Andrea (and their companies), and Max hoped that once Andrea sees the wedding up close, she will give up on Liz, or at least tone it down.
Back to the present…
"Are you ready to become Mrs. Maximilian Anderson?", Max asked Liz.
"Maybe tomorrow.", Liz said coyly.
When she told Irene that they will be married tomorrow, Liz didn't lie. There is a huge wedding preparation going on in Seattle, Madeline and Foxy are in charge while Nathan and Isaac are supporting them.
"Why maybe?" Max didn't like the 'maybe' part.
"Because it's not happening today. Today, we drink and dance."
Max pulled Liz to sit on his lap.
"Don't change your mind, love. I am so close to sealing the deal…", he murmured into her neck, clinging onto her desperately.
Liz had no intention of changing her mind, but... "Why are you making it sound like getting married is a done deal? You know that we can always split up later, right?"
"Don't talk about splitting up!", Max grumbled and bit her earlobe.
"Aww!", Liz cried. His bite hurt and she wondered if he drew blood. "I was only saying that you can't relax after we are married. I want you to be this sweet and caring and loveable every day. And you can't bite me unless it's part of the foreplay."
Max took Liz's earlobe between his lips and soothed the bitemark with his tongue.
"I will love you every day until forever. As for the foreplay... hmm....", Max murmured and his lips moved lower on her neck as his tongue made small circles and he sucked gently, careful not to leave marks. Their wedding is tomorrow, and he didn't want Liz to put on extra makeup in order to cover up hickeys.
Liz squirmed as she felt sparks shot through her body, from the location where Max was kissing and licking her. Ah, she gave him an idea and she had no objections, but they were in a car with a driver in front!
"Max… this… the driver…", Liz breathed as she became soft in his arms.
Max outstretched his hand, finding the button on the side console that lifted the divider between them and the front row seats. Now Liz can't complain that someone is watching them. And she didn't complain, not even a little bit.
…
The car stopped in front of the Alpha group HQ building and the driver informed them that they should head to the rooftop.
"Rooftop?", Liz asked Max, hoping that he has a clue to where they are going next.
Max shrugged. "There is a helicopter landing, so I guess we will fly to our destination."
Max was right. The helicopter waited for them and the pilot had instructions where to take them without spoiling the surprise.
Liz was giddy, unsure what to expect. But as long as she was next to Max, it was fine.
The helicopter took into the air and toward the Pacific Ocean.
About fifteen minutes into their flight, they spotted a white dot which turned into a boat as they were getting closer, and it was still increasing in size… The boat grew by the second as the distance between them reduced and both Max and Liz looked in surprise at a majestic 100+ meters long superyacht with three visible decks above the main one. Soon, they could distinguish that the yacht has a helipad at the bow and a swimming pool at the aft of the main deck.
"Nice…", Liz murmured. She liked the idea of spending the day and night with friends away from the city. At least, no one can come and try to sabotage their fun. They were not aware of any big threat, but many ladies in the Seattle area were not happy with the news of Max getting married and one can't be too careful about this.
At the sound of the helicopter, people emerged on the main deck, out of the shade, and started waving, and Max and Liz could recognize their friends. It was obvious that they are the last ones to arrive because others were wearing bathing suits already.
There were Mia, Hunter, Brianna, Quentin, Sabrina, Ashton, Andrea, Angela, Derek, Olivia, Mike, Grace, Jake, and Liz's three interns: Valentina, Stephanie, and Gordon.
Over time, Liz got close to her interns. They are working together for about a year, and they are familiar with Max, who comes to visit Liz at work occasionally. In the last few months, Liz met with them outside the work setting as well. When Andrea asked Liz who should attend, Liz remembered her interns, and here they are.
Zack was also present with his three assistants in his role as an official wedding photographer.
Max and Liz exited the helicopter who flew away, leaving the partiers on the yacht with the staff who were ready to serve them.
After exchanging greetings with everyone, Liz and Max were facing Andrea, Quentin, and Brianna who looked eager to speak to them.
"What do you think?", Quentin asked Max and Liz while gesturing toward the yacht.
"Impressive.", Max said to what Liz nodded in agreement.
"We are glad you like it…", Brianna said with a giggle and stuffed a brochure in Liz's hand before saying: "It's our wedding present for you."
Liz's eyes bulged out. "What?"
"Are you serious?", Max asked. He was not aware of the details, but this kind of yacht easily goes for tens of millions, maybe more than a hundred, depending on the features included. Even for someone like Quentin and Brianna, this was a big expense.
Andrea grinned. "They got you this boat and my present is that the cost of all maintenance and staff is covered for the next five years, including the covered VIP docking spot one mile North of the Elliot Bay marina. Daniel, your security guy made sure that the staff passed background checks and whatever else is necessary before we offered them jobs."
Liz and Max exchanged glances and then stared at the three people in front of them. They were confident that the yacht is a rental, and this was definitely unexpected. And they even included cost for the staff and maintenance while considering security. Brianna, Quentin, and Andrea really thought of everything.
Quentin stifled a laugh. "It's rare to see you speechless, M. Now I know we picked the right gift. Your bedroom is two decks below this one, at the end of the hallway. You will find clothes to change into…"
Hunter and Mia were next to talk.
"Don't worry about safety…", Hunter said. "Our men are in the area with radars and even if a seagull approaches this yacht, we will know about it."
Liz appreciated the fact that Hunter and Mia considered safety. Since the kidnapping, all of them were extra-cautious.
Over time, Max's and Mia's people met on several occasions, like mini training-camps where they exchanged pointers. Since then, some of Mia's men are working as security at the Alpha group, while some of Max's men are participating in jobs with Mia's men. Somehow, it's working and if they continue blurring the line between them, there is a chance that two groups will turn into one.
Max and Liz walked down from the main deck, slightly dazed. Neither of them expected this as a wedding present.
The interior was modern with clean lines and the master bedroom was spacious enough for a king-size bed, a sofa, and there was a desk with a chair. The room came with a walk-in closet and a full spa-like bathroom.
Liz plopped on the bed and looked at the brochure that Brianna gave her previously. It had information about the yacht. "Other than three decks we saw above, there are three more below with fifteen bedrooms for guests, and ten for the staff. It requires sixteen staff members to function fully. The yacht has a sauna, playroom, media room, entertainment area with a bar, chef's kitchen, and a dining room…", Liz sighed as she read the information about engines and speed. She didn't understand that, but she knew that the yacht is impressive. She looked at Max. "This is amazing."
Max nodded in agreement. He was still absorbing this information. It's not that Max can't afford such a thing, but so far, he was always getting things for himself or for others, and this is the first time that someone gave Max something so valuable.
