~ Seattle, Elizabeth's apartment ~
Sunday, 4:26 AM
Mia closed the door of her room with a stifled giggle and tiptoed toward the kitchen.
She does not remember if she was ever this… happy. At her twenty-eight years of life, she is acting like an enamored teenager. Mia knows that it's silly, but she can't help it because Hunter is a-ma-zing! They are going at it for hours and she is grateful that both of them are in such a good physical shape and she would be sleeping if not for hunger.
At certain point the two of them decided to shower, and they were both energetic, but the hot water made her feel the fatigue of the strenuous exercise which started with their game in the sports club. She admired that Hunter seemed to be… fresh. Is it possible that he is not tired?
Mia remembers that when she returned to the bed from the bathroom, she immediately found herself in Hunter's embrace (her favorite spot since last night). She didn't know that he would be so… cuddly, but she does not mind. She does not mind at all. Mia didn't know that she is the cuddly type either.
"Sorry Hunter, but I think I'm too tired for that last try…", Mia said in-between yawns.
"No worries…", he murmured next to her ear. "We will leave it for tomorrow…"
Mia hid her face in his chest and smiled while his words made her warm and fuzzy: '…for tomorrow.'
Tomorrow with Hunter sounds… right. And she hopes that he feels the same way, but she does not dare to ask him out of fear of appearing too clingy.
'GRRRGRRR'
The sound of Mia's tummy rumbling in an otherwise silent room made both Mia and Hunter burst into laugh.
"More than tired... I'm hungry.", Mia said embarrassingly.
Hunter noticed her discomfort and kissed her on the lips before saying: "Let's order something. A number of places are open now. I will verify and you can pick…"
Mia held Hunter back, preventing him from getting his phone. "Let me check first what is in the fridge…"
Back to present…
Mia is tiptoeing to the kitchen with a silly grin on her face. Hunter's shirt is the only garment which covers her otherwise bare body.
"AH!", Mia cried when she turned on the lights and found Brianna looking at her blankly.
Brianna's elbows rested on the kitchen counter and she was cradling a cup of something in her hands while giving why-are-you-yelling look to Mia.
Mia patted her chest dramatically. "I thought you are sleeping."
Brianna rolled her eyes. "With the noise you two are making, even the deaf people can't sleep."
It was obvious that Brianna is grumpy.
"Sorry…" Mia lowered her head, but she could not suppress the grin on her face. A second later, Mia remembered that this is Liz's apartment. "Are we really so loud? Did Liz say something?"
"I'm glad you are having fun.", Brianna waved her hand dismissively. "As for Liz, I don't think she came back home. Knowing that she had dinner with Max, we can assume that she is across the hallway…"
Brianna yawned. "I will catch up on my sleep when Hunter leaves. When is he leaving?"
"Uhm… I came to get some food. We are hungry."
Brianna grimaced. "So, he is staying overnight?"
"Technically… it's morning. Why are you not with Quentin?"

"My date was not so successful like yours.", Brianna admitted.
Mia noticed that there is something behind Brianna's words. "I'm sorry. I thought that the two of you hit it off well. You were so much in sync…"
"Yeah. Maybe too much in sync."
Mia blinked. "Do you… like Quentin?"
"What is there not to like?"
"He was all over you. If you like him, why are you here?"
Brianna waved her hand, indicating to Mia to drop the topic. "Worry about that man you left behind. If you talk any longer with me, you will find him sleeping."
Mia had to admit that Brianna has a point.
"I haven't seen you smile so much since… ever.", Brianna said while looking at Mia's back which was sticking out of the fridge.
"Yeah. I didn't realize that there is a man who can make me feel this way. It's like a magnetic pull and I am unable to resist.", Mia turned to Brianna. "Bri, everything about him is right."
Brianna observed Mia who was humming happily while picking pastries to warm up. "You are not coming back to New York with me."
Mia noticed that Brianna didn't ask a question, that was a statement.
Mia sighed and put the plate with pastries in the microwave. "That… I don't know. He is busy on the weekdays…"
"Are you saying that this is a one night thing?" Brianna asked while pushing a bowl with fruits toward Mia.
"I hope not.", Mia admitted.
Mia nodded approvingly at the sight of apples, grapes and bananas. She will take it all.
"Then, you should stay and enjoy while it lasts.", Brianna advised. "I'm sure that Liz will not mind having you around for some time."
"What about you?"
Brianna shrugged. "It's not going to be my first time to fly without you. And I will make good use of our apartment without a roommate." Brianna ended with a playful wink. Mia's smile told Brianna that she approves of the idea.
The microwave dinged. Pastries are warmed up.
Mia was struggling to hold onto the bowl of fruits, plate with warmed-up pastries and two bottles of water.
"Let me help…", Brianna said while stifling a yawn.
Mia got inside her bedroom with pastries and water. Two seconds later, her giggles came out of the room through the almost closed door.
"Wait… wait… there is more…", Mia told Hunter who was pulling her in the bed.
"What took you so long?", he pouted like a child.
Mia was still giggling when she stepped out to take the bowl of fruits from Brianna.
'Have fun', Brianna mouthed while giving Mia a meaningful look.
Mia glanced at the contents of the bowl and grinned.
'Thank you', Mia mouthed to Brianna before disappearing behind the closed door.
"Fruits? Nice…", Hunter praised Mia when he saw her returning with a bowl in her hands. But he was more pleased with the sight of Mia walking toward him. Hunter was surprised how much without Mia in his embrace his arms felt empty.
She looked at him playfully. "Not just fruits, but we got few more tries as well…"
Hunter's eyes lit up when he understood the meaning of 'few more tries'. He took the bowl from Mia's hands and inspected its contents (just to make sure) before giving her the look which told her that he approves.
They both agreed that cheese-filled pastry goes very well with grapes, and the plain pastry is a great combination with apples.
It was past 5 AM when Mia settled in Hunter's embrace, ready to sleep.
Mia took a satisfied breath. His toned pecs are a perfect pillow. The feel of Hunter's body on hers, his firmness, his warmth, his scent, the way his arms wrap around her… everything is perfect. Even the sound of his heartbeat is like a perfect lullaby.
"Mia?", he whispered, unsure if she is sleeping already.
"Yes?", she whispered back.
"I could get used to this, easily." He tightened his hug, indicating that he is talking about Mia sleeping next to him.
"Me too…", Mia admitted, happy that he said it first.
"Is it too much to ask of you to stay longer?" Hunter held his breath while waiting for her to answer.
Mia was overjoyed to hear his question, but she wanted to clarify: "You said that your weekdays are full and…"
"I will take time off.", Hunter interrupted her. "I will make time, for you. For us."
Mia smiled. "OK."
A big smile bloomed on Hunter's face. Mia will stay longer in Seattle! With him… because of him.
They were both tired but unable to sleep due to excitement.
Hunter and Mia held each other in silence and observed through the window how the dark sky morphed into a bright blue one as the sun rose… until they slept off.
