266 Dinner for Sabrina and her date 5

Sabrina watched in silence as Liz checked on Ashton.

Liz pressed some points on Ashton's arms, legs, and ribcage, and when Ashton winced, she would move his garment and reveal a bruise.

Sabrina saw the same bruises Liz did and concluded that Ashton was only defending. She didn't need an explanation of what happened here. Hunter went out with Ashton, but he had no intention to talk. Hunter feels betrayed that Ashton and she are together, and wanted to vent his anger.

Sabrina snorted in frustration. This is Hunter throwing a tantrum like a toddler. Well, she can throw a tantrum as well.

Sabrina stood up and walked to Hunter.

'PAK!'

A heavy slap landed on Hunter's face, with the speed and force he didn't expect. But even if he did, he would not dare to defend or avoid it. This is his big sister and in front of her, he feels like a little child who deserves scolding.

"How dare you hurt him?" Sabrina asked angrily.

'PAK!'

She slapped him again.

"Is it so difficult for you to accept that I love someone?" Sabrina squeezed through her teeth.

'PAK!'

Another slap sounded over the driveway.

"Would any guy I bring home have this treatment from you? Or is this only for Ashton?" Sabrina growled at Hunter.

"Rina…" Ashton called. "Let it go. This is between me and Hunter."

Sabrina didn't remove her gaze from Hunter who pressed his lips into a line, indicating that he has no intention to speak despite all the questions and his throbbing cheeks.

Sabrina sneered. "I see that the two of you have some caveman thing going on. Is this how you solve your differences? Is this how you bond? Maybe I should join in the fun as well."

Sabrina took a step back from Hunter and in the next moment, her body twisted at the waist. She rotated a full circle at the end of which her right foot landed heavily on Hunter's chest.

It all happened so quickly that no one had time to react before Hunter was thrown back and he ended up sprawled on the driveway and Sabrina's dress still twirled while catching up with the rapid movement of her body.

Mia's mouth was half open and her eyes were glued to Sabrina. That was an awesome kick which shows that Sabrina knows what she is doing. Mia's mind expanded with the knowledge that Sabrina is much more than spas and shopping and girly hangouts and interior designs. Sabrina is a she-warrior!

Liz didn't see what happened, she was focused on Ashton. By the time she turned toward the commotion, it was all over, and Hunter was already on the ground.

Max and Madeline came out with ice and the two of them paused at the sight of Hunter holding onto his chest and Sabrina standing above Hunter and glaring daggers at him.

"Rina is angry…" Madeline said in a low voice, and Nathan hummed in agreement from two steps away.

"You take ice to Hunter, I will get this for Ashton." Max told Madeline.

Sabrina took a deep breath and lifted her chin while talking icily: "I must admit that it's working. This caveman approach allowed me to release some steam. If you touch Ashton again, you will regret it."

Mia snapped to her senses and went to check on Hunter. The fight (aka bashing) is over, and she needs to make sure her fiancé is fine instead of fangirling over her future sister-in-law (aka Sabrina).

Sabrina turned to Ashton who stared at her in disbelief and her expression softened in an instant. "Are you in pain? Do you want to go to a hospital?" She squatted and examined him visually.

Ashton is sitting on the ground, Liz didn't let him stand up.

"No. Ice is fine." Ashton responded to Sabrina.

Sabrina turned to Liz who confirmed Ashton's words.

"It does not seem that anything is broken. Unless it gets worse, ice with some painkillers will be fine."

Sabrina exhaled in relief and smiled at Ashton who was looking at her with his eyes open wide.

"I didn't know that you can fight." Ashton voiced his thoughts.

Sabrina blinked. "I didn't know that you will work at the University."

Ashton shook his head. "How can you compare those two?"

Sabrina smiled dreamily and caressed Ashton's cheek. "I'm glad that you are not seriously hurt."

Nathan pinched the roof of his nose. "How about we all go inside? I need a drink."

...

Sabrina and Ashton didn't feel like eating anymore and the two of them went to the living room.

The maid brought painkillers for Ashton which he took obediently.

Liz made sure to check on Ashton again before leaving the two lovebirds and going to join Max in the dining room.

Liz took her seat next to Max and she was surprised to see that Hunter's and Mia's appetite didn't diminish. How can they eat with all that gusto after everything that happened? Ah, both of them are gluttons.

Madeline released few exaggerated sighs and she was irritated that Hunter is ignoring her.

"Hunter…" Madeline called. "Do you care to explain what possessed you to hit Ashton?"

"How do you know that he didn't hit me first?"

"Don't be ridiculous." Madeline hissed. "Why would he hit you? Answer my question."

"I wanted to test his sincerity. He agreed."

Madeline shook her head in disapproval, but she didn't know what to say to that.

"He agreed, but you could have waited and done the beating up part some other time." Mia chimed in.

"You approve what Hunter did?" Liz asked Mia with a frown. Even if it's some guy-thing, they all came to have a meal at Nathan's and Madeline's house and Ashton IS Sabrina's boyfriend, regardless if Hunter approves or not. Who goes and has a fight like that during a meal?

"Every family has different ways of accepting a new member. Who am I to meddle?" Mia said casually and returned her attention to the food on her plate.

Hunter paused. Why did this remind him of traps Mia is setting up for him as part of his preparation to meet her family?

"Apologize." Nathan said to Hunter sternly.

"What? To whom?"

"To Ashton and to Rina. Apologize." Nathan clarified.

Hunter was not willing. "Dad, this is between me and Ashton."

"And if you wanted it to stay between you and him, you should keep it out of our dinner. Rina came here and introduced Ashton as her boyfriend. As her father and host of this event, I am shocked and I am not ready to accept it, but that does not mean that I will go and hit people. You hit a boy your sister is dating, and you ruined dinner. Go and apologize."

Hunter wanted to ask how did he spoil the dinner, they went outside! But then he realized that only he and Mia are eating and no one else is touching the food.

Hunter stood up and walked to the living room. He froze at the sight of Ashton laying on the sofa with his head in Sabrina's lap. She is caressing his hair and they are gazing into each other's eyes while whispering and giggling.

Hunter cleared his throat to get their attention.

"Ah, it's just Hunter." Sabrina said when she glanced to the side.

Hunter swallowed his grief and said in an official tone: "I came to apologize."
