She got out of the bed and glanced out the window. She smiled at the sight of Ashton throwing the football with Adam, Doug, and Shane. She could not hear what they are saying, but occasionally their laughter drifted her way.

Sabrina left the room and went into the living room where she found Mr. and Mrs. Grant. They didn't notice her.

"…how can I not be worried?" Mrs. Grant asked her husband. "Do they even know what they are doing?"

Sabrina knew that they are talking about her and Ashton. She took a few steps back into the hallway and cleared her throat to announce her presence before re-entering the living room.

"Good afternoon…" Sabrina greeted them with a smile when she met their gazes. "It seems that I slept off. I apologize. I came here so that we can get to know each other and I ended up sleeping."

Mrs. Grant smiled. "Don't apologize. It's normal to be fatigued in the first trimester while your body is adjusting to working for two. Taking care of your health should always be a priority. Are you looking for Ashton?"

Sabrina paused. "No. I would like to talk to you, if you don't mind."

Mrs. Grant was surprised to hear that Sabrina wants to talk to them. She gestured to the sofa chair and Sabrina took her seat.

"I am aware that you don't know me, and you have your concerns… and trust me, all this is new for me and sometimes I wonder if I know what I am doing. But I know that I love Ashton and he loves me as well. Us being together, can't be a bad thing."

Sabrina paused and Mrs. Grant took the opportunity to ask: "Do you think that love is enough?"

Sabrina smiled. "I respect him. I admire him. Ashton is the smartest man I ever met. Humble, honest, kind. What I feel for him is much more than love. He didn't take advantage of me because I was the one who seduced him. I practically tricked him to move in with me by pretending that I need a roommate, and he is so unspoiled that by the time he figured out what is going on, it was too late. I can't convince you that twenty years from now we will be in a harmonious marriage, but I hope that you can keep an open mind and see how much we love each other. I want to assure you that I will support Ashton to continue his education or whatever else he is interested in. I will not be an obstacle in his path."

Mr. Grant exhaled. "All that is well, but who will pay the bills? An assistant at the University does not earn much for a family of three in Seattle. Will you come here and live with us?"

Mrs. Grant frowned. "You want to support him?"

Sabrina confirmed. "We will be married. There will be no mine or his, it will be ours. I am happy that I can contribute and support him, and I am sure that he would do the same for me. I hope that you will find the time to visit us. That will give you a chance to see my design studio, and where we live."

Mr. and Mrs. Grant exchanged complex looks.

"You are awake?" Ashton's voice drifted from the second entrance which is behind Sabrina.

"Why didn't you call me?" Ashton asked Sabrina while nervously glancing at his parents.

"I just got here and asked where you are. If you came a few seconds later, I'm sure that your parents would tell me where to find you."

Ashton was not sure if he should believe her. All three were clearly sitting and chatting. But he will let it slide.

The rest of the evening passed in a lively mood and peacefully. During dinner, Sabrina and Ashton showed to everyone photos from the ultrasound.

Adam and Doug were not impressed by a dot that Ashton called as his child. It's just a dot.

After dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Grant left the youngsters on their own.

Girls gathered on the back porch and chatted.

Holly, Angela, Cynthia, and Leslie had a lot of questions for Sabrina about her life in Seattle and they were all impressed to hear that she has her design studio.

Holly and Angela were interested to hear more about Max and Hunter, and the sparkles in their eyes made Sabrina laugh. "My brothers are taken, but if you come to Seattle, I have other friends who are available…" Sabrina winked playfully.

The girls were excited when Sabrina promised to give them a personal tour of Seattle which will include shopping and a spa visit.

During that time, Ashton was catching up with his brothers. They lit up a campfire next to a pond and sipped beer while sitting on logs. Adam, Doug, and Shane were curious about Sabrina, and Ashton told them all the best. In his opinion, there is nothing bad about Sabrina because she is perfect.

"We spoke a few weeks ago… and you were all about September and your Ph.D. and working at the University, and now you are talking about a girl and a baby." Shane said to Ashton while bobbing his head.

Ashton smiled. "It's like… Years of me dreaming about Sabrina suddenly became a reality. It's surreal."

"You are not denying how Rina has you on a leash like a dog." Doug said jokingly.

Ashton chuckled. "If she wants to put a leash on me, I will extend my neck to make it easier for her."

Adam shook his head in disbelief. "How can you be so submissive? Did you have a proper girlfriend before Sabrina? Do you know what you are doing?"

"If the world is ending, I would not care, as long as Sabrina is with me. We are made for each other." Ashton said with a silly grin on his face. He stood up and walked toward where girls are. He needs Sabrina's proximity.

"He makes me sick." Shane grumbled. "How can I make fun of him when he is like that? Lovesick fool."

"Jealous?" Adam asked teasingly.

Shane snorted. "Jealous of that? I will never be like that..."

"Are you luring my sisters to come to Seattle by offering them spa treatments?" Ashton asked while his arms wrapped around Sabrina from behind.

Sabrina laughed. "I'm trying. I know that all of them are worried about how we are doing. I believe that if they come and see for themselves, they can be at ease."

Ashton glanced at four young women who are sitting with Sabrina and hummed in approval. "It's working. I can see that they are hooked up and ready to come for a visit."

Ashton looked at Sabrina. "Tired? How about we call it a night?"

Sabrina slept in Ashton's embrace and no one brought up the topic that they spent the night in the same room.

On the next day, Adam and Cynthia gave to Sabrina and Ashton a tour of the farm. Sabrina enjoyed grooming the horses and she was sorry that she is pregnant, but she promised to come again after the baby is born so that they will go horse-riding.

"How does it feel, being pregnant?", Cynthia asked Sabrina when Ashton and Adam were out of the earshot.

"Other than random nausea, and afternoon nap-attacks, I don't feel differently. Maybe it will be different when the belly starts showing and the baby starts kicking…"

Cynthia listened to Sabrina with a small smile on her face. Sabrina noticed that Cynthia's mood was off.

"Are you trying to get pregnant?" Sabrina guessed.

Cynthia responded with a nod. "For five years."

"That is a long time. Did you see a doctor?"

"No."

"Do you want to?" Sabrina continued probing.

"What can they do?"

Sabrina shrugged, indicating that she is not sure. "They will examine you and see what is going on. Based on that, they will recommend you some exercise, or a diet, or medications, or a procedure. It can be something simple or something serious, but you will not know unless you get it checked."

"Will Adam need to get checked too?"

Sabrina confirmed. "The two of you are trying, so both of you will need to get a checkup. You can come to Seattle and stay with us while they do tests and you wait for the results. We have two guest bedrooms… We can leave guys to chat and we go to a spa…"

Cynthia listened to Sabrina's chatter and smiled. She would like to come to Seattle. "I will talk to Adam and let you know."

After lunch, they had a short rest, and then Sabrina and Ashton headed back.

They all hugged and exchanged well wishes and promises to stay in touch.

When they passed under the arch with "The Grant Farm", Ashton exhaled loudly.

"Relieved?" Sabrina guessed.

"You have no idea. I thought that things will go well, but then the start was bumpy, and I feared that we will cut our visit short. But to my surprise, my parents didn't cause any issues, and my brothers didn't tease us… it's almost like things got fixed by magic."

Sabrina laughed and leaned her head on Ashton's shoulder. "Maybe they just saw how much we love each other."

Ashton shot her a skeptical side-glance and smiled. He is confident that she did something, but he will not ask what because she is happy.
