318 Girls' day in the spa

Elizabeth, Mia, Brianna, and Sabrina are in a spa.

They are lying on the comfortable leather treatment-chairs, wearing fluffy white bathrobes; their hair is wrapped in lush towels and their faces are covered with thick facial treatments.

Spa technicians are silently busying themselves around four ladies, providing manicures, pedicures, and any other treatment available because girls got themselves a full package for today.

After the spa, they have styling for hair and makeup.

Four of them are getting ready for the event which starts at 5 PM. It is a corporate party for high-level managers of the Alpha group and their partners. There will be drinks and snacks and music and it will all culminate with the official announcement of Max as the new CEO of the Alpha group.

Sabrina is going as a member of the Anderson family with Ashton as her date. Liz is going as Max's date, Mia as Hunter's, and Brianna will be Quentin's date. Quentin got an invitation as a partner of the Alpha group.

The event itself will not be long, and it should finish at 7 PM. After that, a selected group will go to dinner in a fancy restaurant to celebrate. The plan is to end the evening with a private party.

The four girls are in a good mood. Other than the upcoming party which will mark the change in the leadership of the Alpha group, each of them is enjoying her life.

Mia and Hunter are getting along great. They are enjoying their time together as an engaged couple, and they participate in a variety of sports and activities while they have their wedding tentatively set for April next year.

Since their near-fiasco in August with the Russo family, they didn't visit Portland, but Mia's father calls every Sunday, and Mia talks to him on the phone.

Fabricio didn't say what happened to Keith, but they know that he was severely punished. Mia is not sure if Keith is still alive or not and she does not want to know.

Fabricio is strict to Mia's half-brother Roberto and he set the expectations clear that Mia is the only one worthy of inheriting his position. Fabricio swears that he cleaned up the house and that Keith's and Roberto's ex-supporters are out of the organization.

Mia didn't accept to visit her father again, but Hunter believes that she is softening up. And he hopes that by April the air between Mia and Fabricio clears up because every girl should be escorted down the aisle by her father, if possible.

Between her work and time with Ashton, Sabrina is happy.

The only bit of stress Sabrina has is due to the occasional negative online presence related to the FD Studio, and Sabrina knows that her ex business partner Kylie is behind it, but she does not know how to tackle this problem.

Max told Sabrina that Kylie will not stop and that the more successful FD Studio is, the more vicious Kylie will be. "She is jealous of your success and she also fears that someone might notice that her success was built on top of your hard work. She will not stop… Until you find a way to deal with her, I will help you in removing online stains she is creating, but this is not a permanent solution…"

Sabrina knows that Max is right, but she is happy and pregnant, and she only wants to relax with the hope that Kylie will leave her alone.

Brianna is in Seattle since September, staying in Quentin's apartment.

Brianna's plan to open a branch of Harper Investments in Seattle with her as the branch manager was a big success and Quentin helped speed up the process.

The only thing Brianna didn't plan for, was that her cousin Thomas will be demoted to the position of a regular accountant.

At the beginning of October, Brianna went to San Francisco to visit her family and at that time she introduced Quentin as her boyfriend.

Quentin hopes to introduce Brianna to his parents, but she still didn't agree to it. Quentin gave her a limit until Christmas, saying that if she does not want to meet his parents sooner, they will visit them for Christmas. Brianna said OK, but now that it's about a month away, she thinks that she needs more time.

Liz is on cloud nine. Since she started dating Max, they had a few bumps on the road, but they handled them with ease.

Since Isaac's birthday, Liz is focused on her work and Max, and she is enjoying both.

At the hospital, Liz has four assistants and between seeing patients for exams and consultation, she is performing surgeries with great success. Also, she is spending at least one day a week in the newly built lab at the Franciscan Medical Center, researching current conditions and the best ways to treat them. She is still collaborating with Dr. Thomas on studying a strand of the virus which attacks the nervous system.

On a personal side, things with Max could not be better. He is gentle, caring, attentive, and he is expertly balancing their public and private life. If anyone sees how he is hovering around her, no one would guess how intense and domineering he is in the bedroom. Or in the living room. Or in the hallway. Or… anywhere they have privacy. They do it almost everywhere and some of the poses Liz could not find in any articles she checked. It's wild and unrestrained and she wouldn't want it any other way. Max only needs to say 'sugar' and her core clenches in anticipation.

"How is Max doing?" Sabrina asked Liz, breaking the long silence.

Liz hummed and smiled while pressing her legs together. She can still feel Max deep inside her, and it's more than five hours how they made love.

"He is busy in the last few weeks, but he has it under control." Liz responded. "I hope that after tonight's event, things settle down."

Sabrina exhaled. "Honey… it will get worse before it gets better."

"I know. But let me fool myself a bit longer. I don't want to think that from Monday he will officially be the CEO and how that will mean more meetings and extra hours until he proves himself. And that could be months away."

"Let's hope it's not months." Mia said. "Max is shadowing Nathan for a while and Hunter will be there."

Liz chuckled. "You said that because if Max is stuck in the office, Hunter will be as well."

Mia grinned. "I will not deny that."

"How are you and Max doing?" Sabrina asked Liz. "Since Ashton recuperated, you don't visit us anymore. Is he neglecting you because of work? Should I kick his ass?"

"He is sweet…" Liz started and paused.

No matter how busy Max is, he always finds time for Liz. Liz remembered how he was getting ready that morning for a day in office. He packed his suit for tonight and spare clothes for her. Max said how after the party, the two of them will go to the suite in the back of the CEO's office and he reminded Liz that she said how they will go there once the CEO's office is his. Liz said that the first time when she visited the Alpha group HQ building. Ah, Max does not forget anything. And she knows that tonight will be good.

Mia turned to Liz. "Look at her face. She is not even trying to pretend to be sorry for forgetting to respond to your question, Rina. I bet that she is imagining Max inside her…"

"I am not!" Liz lied.

"If you are not lying, why are you not answering?" Mia asked teasingly.

"Because… we are doing good and there is nothing worth telling. It's more interesting if you ask me about my work."

Brianna stifled a laugh. "Who wants to hear about your assistants and surgeries? Give us the juicy stuff. We know that Max has the skills and the size for at least several hours' worth of talking. Since Liz is mum, how about Mia tells us something about Hunter? A guy is active and muscular. Did you do something new? Maybe a wicked quickie during rock-climbing?"

Sabrina groaned. "Can we not talk about my brothers' size and bed skills? They are my baby brothers and I'm trying not to visualize it."

"You just rub your baby-belly and tune us out." Mia said through giggles.

Sabrina rolled her eyes. "How can I tune you out when you are screaming about Hunter?"

Liz didn't want this to become a bickering match between Sabrina and Mia. They are here to relax.

Liz waved to get Mia's and Sabrina's attention and spoke to Sabrina: "If we don't talk about your brothers, the only one who can talk is Brianna. Or do you want to tell us about Ashton?"

"I can talk…" Brianna said in a singing voice. "Q has the size and the skills for so many stories that I don't know where to start."

"Uuuuuu…" Liz, Sabrina, and Mia sounded in unison, and then all four of them burst into laughter.
