356 Max returns to work again 3

Name:Accident Prone Author:RedSonia
Liz felt like floating and only when he lowered her on the soft mattress, Liz realized that the floating sensation was Max carrying her to the suite that is attached to his office.

Liz watched Max as he swiftly removed his necktie and shirt before coming back on the bed, above her.

"Do we have time for this?", Liz breathed as he removed her clothes and covered every inch of her newly exposed skin with kisses.

"My next meeting is at two…"

Max was happy that she relaxed at his words, and two seconds later, she stiffened. He needed to know why. "What happened?"

Liz's eyes were focused on the floor to ceiling window that provided a great view of Seattle. "I feel like everyone is watching."

Max chuckled. "We are on the top floor of the tallest building with the view to the West. No one can see us."

Liz was unable to relax. "Are you sure? What if someone has a telescope or a drone, or…"

"The glass from the outside is like a mirror. No one can see us."

Liz was still reluctant. Why are there no blinds?

Max got an idea. "Love, it's all in your head. Let me help you…"

Max lifted his hand that now held onto his necktie he removed just a minute ago.

"Max…", Liz protested when he covered up her eyes with the necktie.

"Shh… Trust me… You are going to like this…"

She felt a tug at the back of the head as he tightened up the knot.

Liz took a deep breath and relaxed. She trusts him and he knows how to make her feel good. In the worst case, she will not like it and she will remove the necktie.

Liz's whole body twitched and coiled under his touch. Without her sight, all other senses intensified, and she was enjoying the skin-to-skin contact while eagerly anticipating where it will come next.

"Oh, Max…", Liz moaned loudly when his tongue moved between her wet folds.

Max smiled without stopping his movements. It took her less than ten seconds to forget where they are. She was never so loud.

They had more than an hour until his next meeting, and he was going to make every second count.

3:56 PM

Liz opened her eyes slowly and checked her surroundings. Ah, it seems that she slept off while cuddling with Max after intense lovemaking.

She found a note on the pillow next to her.

Or course, it was from Max.

"I hope you had a good rest, my love. I'm heading for my meetings, the last one ends at five o'clock. Call Foxy if you need anything.

With love, your handsome boyfriend.

P.S. Hot bath helps with the sore back."

Liz was sorry that Max is not by her side, but she understands that he needs to work.

In the morning, Liz had several appointments with her patients at the Franciscan Medical Center. After that, she was able to pick up food and meet with Max for lunch… and what came after. Not many have such a flexible schedule and Liz considers herself lucky in more than one way.

Liz was not sure if she should wait for Max or head home, but when she saw the time, she decided to take a bath. There is no point in going home when it's so close to five. She will wait for Max to finish work and they can leave together. Maybe home, or for dinner, or maybe he can blindfold her again. She giggled at her own lustful thoughts, but she could not help herself. Max is that good.

While Liz was happily taking a bath, Irene's mind was chaotic.

The whole afternoon was a waste in terms of her work. She was unable to focus because her mind replayed the scene from Max's office on a repeat and she was not willing to accept that he brushed her off like that.

Sure, Max is the CEO, and she is his employee, but she is not just any employee. The two of them have a history, and he is behaving like nothing ever happened. Even worse, he is treating her like she is any overage employee. Her reputation and stellar track record should be enough for her to get more respect.

People say that opposite of love is hate, and that once hate kicks-in there is no chance for love, but that is not true. Once love dies, indifference takes over, and that is exactly what Max showed toward Irene.

Irene does not love Max, he is only one link in the chain of her conquests and nothing more. At least that is what she is telling herself. And once her victim (aka boyfriend) falls for her, he can't escape her enchantment.

Max is supposed to have feelings for her, damnit! How can he ignore an alluring, successful woman who is willing to please him?

'Right, he is only good at concealing his feelings. That's it.', Irene told herself. 'I will confront him without that annoying girlfriend or Foxy or Hunter or anyone else around and get my answers. He will be unable to say no. No one ever managed to refuse me!'

Irene's fury was bubbling inside her. She felt wronged and the only way to find her peace was to get closure. Or at least a way to vent her frustration.

Irene checked the time. It was 4:41 PM. She remembered that Max told her how his last meeting ends at five o'clock. Suddenly… she had a plan!

4:52 PM

Irene took a seat on the sofa in Max's office.

She went to the top floor with a goal to wait for Max. She still remembers that Max told Hunter to notify Foxy, so the old bat should not give Irene a hard time when she shows up.

Irene was nervous, so she went to the restroom. Her confidence increased once she double-checked that her appearance is flawless.

What Irene didn't expect was that on her way out of the restroom, she passed next to the kitchen where Foxy was drinking water. Lucky! Now she can go to Max's office, without the need to pass the gatekeeper. Max said that she can come so… she can come in, right? And like this Irene will avoid any snarky remarks Foxy has.

Back to the present…

Irene tried several positions while waiting for Max to appear. She does not want to look stiff, but not too relaxed either. If she sits on the edge of the sofa, it seems that she is eager to leave, but if she sits all the way deep on the sofa, it will appear that she is eager to stay. Something in the middle… What about hands? On the side or in her lap? Maybe it's best if she holds onto her phone.

"Miss Brooks? Why are you here?"

Irene froze when she heard a familiar female voice from behind her. She turned robotically and met Liz's glare. Great. Now what?
