George couldn't believe his eyes when he saw his wife and son coming in from the backdoor. His wife is assisting his son who is holding a badly injured kid in his arms. Where and how did these two end up with that kid?
"George! Let's take him to the hospital." Helena called out to her husband. She shares the same sentiments with her son. They need to help the boy and in her heart she's hoping the boy only has those tangible injuries. Growing up in an orphanage she's seen these type of injuries on young girls and boys and most of the time they were sexually assaulted especially if they are an Omega. She's not sure but the boy is probably an Omega which makes her worry more.
"What have you guys gotten yourself into?" George couldn't help asking his wife and son. Let's just bring the boy to the hospital and report this to the police. They would know what to do with him.
"No! I'm not letting anyone take him away." Matthew firmly stated. Turning the boy away from his father who he thinks is threatening to take him away.
"Matthew, we don't know who the boy is, his family might be looking for him." George tried to convince his son to let him take the boy to the hospital. He can't understand why his son is being overly protective of the boy.
"George! Forget it okay, let Matt handle the kid and let's just bring him to the hospital. He needs medical attention for God's sake! Ask the question later." Helena shouted, she's worried about the boy and she can still recall how Matt called him his brother. She suddenly thought of her unborn child, if her child was in this kind of situation she would want someone to help him too.
George sighs and agrees to his wife's suggestion. They both urge Matt to let them take the boy to the hospital.
James, who was looking at the family who were arguing what to do with the boy, suddenly spoke up and interrupted the family of three. "Let's not bring him to the hospital."
"What? I can't believe you're this heartless James. Can't you see the boy is injured, he's got bruises. He's freaking bleeding." Helena replied. Unable to believe what her childhood friend had suggested. Of all people James should have understood her will to help the boy.
"I'm not saying we're not helping him. I'm just saying not to bring him to the hospital." Looking at the boy's bare feet and his injuries, he probably ran away and escaped from his attacker. James knew that there were syndicates kidnapping young Omegas, some of them even sold by their own family. He is worried that this kid is one of them and they are probably searching the hospital for him.
"Let's bring him to Zach." James suggested, Helena nodded in agreement. Finally understanding what her childhood friend meant. If they want to help the boy, they need to hide him as much as they can.
"Who's Zach?" Matt asked, doubting anyone who would come near the boy.
"Zach is one of our friends. He's a doctor and he has a clinic near the border of the town." James explained to the young Alpha.
After a few more coaxing, Matt finally agreed to go. They covered the boy as they went out to bring him to the car. George is on the driver seat with James beside him guiding the way to Zach's clinic. Helena is at the back with Matt who's still not letting go of the boy.
*******
Zach has just finished cleaning up his kitchen after a late dinner. He's got more patients today than usual which is why he closed the clinic a bit late and now he's tired and eager to go to his bed. Just as he turned off the light on the living room he heard a loud banging on his door.
He frowned not knowing if he should open the door. If it's an emergency patient, they should be calling in from the clinic not his front door, though his clinic is adjacent to his house.
His good natured personality won and he opened the front door and resigned himself to treating another patient. To his surprise he found his two friends James and Helena, with them is another man and a teenage boy holding another boy who seems dirty and injured. He quickly ushered them inside when he saw the injured boy. He led them to another entrance leading to his clinic.
"Can you put him in the bed?" He asked the teen, though he's not sure why it was the teenager holding the injured boy when there are three full grown adults more capable.
Helena urged Matt to put the boy down knowing full well that her son is reluctant to let go. The moment Matt tried to put down the boy, the boy screamed and clinged on to Matt. Zach ended up sedating the boy to be able to treat him.
Matt reluctantly left the boy to Dr. Zach's care and came with his parents to the waiting room to wait for the doctor to finish treating him.
"Okay Matt time to explain how you found that boy." George inquired with his son. They need to know everything to be able to come up with a plan on how to help the boy after his treatment. "His family might be looking for him, we need to inform the police about this."
Three sets of "No" answered George. Helena and James responded negatively to George knowing that the boy will be in danger if they hand him over to the police. They both sense that the boy might be an Omega and might have been actually abandoned by his family.
On the other hand Matt responded no because of other reasons. "I'm not handing him over to the police. I'm bringing home with me. He's gonna be my brother." Matt proclaimed to his father's surprise.. Helena already heard Matt called the boy his brother and was not surprised anymore, though she's not sure where this is coming from. Why does Matt want to protect that boy? Why does he claim him as his brother?
