Chapter 59 - 57

"It was tiring here than how it is over there. The professor's patient here had a very complicated pregnancy. The baby was diagnosed to have a heart complication and we had to operate it while still inside the mother's womb. It was surreal and I almost cried when we finished the surgery." Matt excitedly said to his brother when Alex how he's doing.

"Ar...Are all pregnancies complicated like that?" Alex asked curiously.

"Not all, some had it easy like a walk in the park." Matt replied chuckling. "Though we have some severe cases like that one I just told you and of course Omega's pregnancy are generally sensitive especially for a male Omega." Matt turned serious as he discussed Omega pregnancy. Contrary to what people think, despite the high fertility rate for Omegas they are more prone to delicate pregnancies as well as miscarriages. He learned about it when he was just a teenager because of his mom, which is why he decided to become a doctor in order to provide his brother the best medical care when he became pregnant himself, though it should be years from now as Alex is still young and in college.

"By the way, why did you call me? You never call me unless I call you first." Matt asked suspiciously. He wondered if something was going on with Alex. "Have you gone back home? God I miss dad's food and mom's dessert. I can't wait to go back home." Matt exclaimed. "Alex?" Matt called out, he even removed the phone away from his ears to check if the call got disconnected. "Hey Alex! What's going on? The hell! Are you crying? Were you hurt somewhere?" Matt asked worriedly. He thought Alex got disconnected but he suddenly heard a sobbing sound and he realized that his brother was crying.

"I.. I just miss you. I wish you were here. You're a bad brother for being away for too long." Alex replied in between his sobs. He wanted to tell Matt so many things but nothing came out of his mouth as he knew that it's not something he should tell his brother over the phone. Hearing Matt's voice triggered the tears he has been trying to control not to fall.

Matt sighed. "I know and I miss you too." He has never been away from home this long and honestly he was extremely worried for Alex especially after he learned that the brat hasn't been home since he left. His brother is an Omega and despite how time changes some people are still hostile towards them which keeps him constantly worried about Alex. "I'll head straight to your place as soon as I come back okay?" Matt tried to pacify his crying brother. It breaks his heart hearing him cry, he promised to keep him safe and protect him and it frustrates him that he cannot do anything right now but he's doing all of this for Alex. "Stop crying already. I'll be back soon, just a few more days. Okay?"

"Please come back soon Mattie." Alex said still

crying as they ended the call.

Keith entered their bedroom a few minutes past midnight. Alex did not come down for dinner and thankfully ate the food Sebastian brought him. He sighed in relief when he saw that Alex drank the supplement Dr. Calix gave him.

He sat down on their bed and gently caressed his sleeping wife. Dr. Calix warned him that a pregnant person can be highly emotional and for a male Omega like Alex, being pregnant is something he might not consider thus the detached reaction upon the news that they are expecting.

He notices Alex's eyes are a bit swollen, he must have cried himself to sleep. He wished that Alex would talk to him and tell him how he feels about all this. He gently planted a kiss on both his eyes and softly brushed Alex's hair.

"Hmmm Keith?" Alex murmured when Keith laid down beside him

"Shhhh, it's alright go back to sleep." Keith whispered, giving Alex a kiss on his forehead.

Alex scoots himself closer to Keith, using the Alpha's arms as a pillow. He breathed in Keith's pheromones as he lulled himself back to sleep.

"Good morning!" Chloe energetically greeted Alex as he arrived from work. She also greeted Keith who just nodded at her in response.

Alex thought things would be awkward at work but it seems Chloe is just her normal self which relieved him.

"Good morning." Alex responded. He glanced at Vera's desk and saw it was cleaned and all her stuff was gone.

Chloe noticed where Alex was looking. "If you're wondering where Vera is, she has been terminated. She got what she deserved after pulling that stunt yesterday." Chloe said, her face shows her disappointment at Vera's actions. She still could not believe she would stoop so low with her delusions. "By the way, how are you? Are you okay going back to work now?" Chloe asked worriedly afterall Alex was rushed to the hospital yesterday after fainting. She wondered if he needed more rest.

"I'm fine." Alex replied briefly.

Chloe noticed Alex is avoiding the topic of yesterday's event so she decided not to talk about it further. She may be a talkative and a blabbermouth sometimes but she knew when to stop.

"Alex, aren't you going to make coffee for the boss?" Chloe asked Alex, as he normally prepares it as soon as they arrived in the morning.

"Ahhh maybe after Dana comes out. They might be talking about something important. I don't want to interrupt." Alex focused his eyes on his computer screen to show Chloe that he has a lot of things to do. Normally he would entertain Chloe and let her talk but he's not in the mood for that today.

"Sir, your flight is at 8:00pm tomorrow evening." Dana informed Keith.

"Can I still move that?" Keith asked frustratedly. Alex still hasn't said a word to him. He doesn't want to leave without having a proper conversation with Alex.

"Sir?" Dana asked, surprised.

"Nevermind. Try to fit all my schedules in three days instead of the planned one week. I don't want to be away for that long." Keith sighed.

"I'll see what I can do Sir."

Keith wanted to bring Alex with him but he didn't want to risk getting Alex exposed to the public just yet. In just a few days Alex's brother is coming home and they will inform his family about it. He doesn't want to ruin that plan as it would further distress Alex, which he doesn't want to happen.

The construction of the new hotel and resort is a big project that he could not just hand to anyone. He cannot ask his father to do it on his behalf as it would mean that he cannot do his job. If only his brother is reliable instead of a lazy bum who cannot seem to finish his degree.

Well maybe this three days away from each other will give Alex the time he needs to gather his thoughts.. He will definitely see to it that they would have a proper discussion about the pregnancy.
