Chapter 64 - 62

"Why is he here again?" Dan could not believe who he just saw sitting at two tables from them. "Is he following us?"

"Well technically he was here first, so we couldn't say he followed us." Chloe answered, correcting Dan.

"Shall we go somewhere else?" Dan asked worried as he looked at Alex. If there's anyone who would not be comfortable with Dwight, that's Alex.

"Let's just order our food and eat." Alex tried to not let Dwight's presence get to him. Besides he has more pressing matters to deal with than let himself get bothered by a lecherous guy like his former boss. Also, Colin's presence added enough assurance for him that if Dwight attempted to do anything, Colin will be there to prevent it.

It's baffling how they keep running into him, the restaurant from yesterday's lunch as well as the coffee shop and now here again. It's wrong to say that the Alpha is following them because apart from the restaurant yesterday, Dwight was the first one to arrive before them. It's too much of a coincidence but they don't have any proof to say otherwise.

Alex stared at his phone as Chloe and Dan discussed the menu. He has been waiting for Keith to call him. They haven't talked since Keith left two nights ago. Well, it's not that Keith hasn't contacted him in the last two days, in fact he called a few times but Alex always has his phone on silent mode which is why he missed all the calls from his husband. So now, his eyes are glued on the phone, hoping it would ring.

Alex sighed. He missed Keith's voice but maybe his husband was busy or he got fed up with him thinking he didn't want to talk to him. He picked up his phone and put it in his pocket.

He almost dropped the device when it suddenly vibrated and he saw Keith's name flashing on the screen. He couldn't believe that he would actually call like he hoped so.

"Guys, I'll just take this outside." Alex informed the two and headed towards the door before either of them could respond.

Colin was caught off guard when Alex suddenly rushed out of the restaurant. He instructed Dan to sit on his table and ordered for him in fear that his table might be snatched away as it is still lunch hour. He then immediately followed Alex outside.

"Hello." Alex swallowed hard as he answered the call.

"Hi."

Silence ensued as the two of them listened to the sound of each other's breathing. Both of them have so much to say but could not find the words for it. Alex wanted to cry upon hearing Keith's voice. On the other hand, Keith wanted to board the plane right at this moment in order to be with Alex.

"Have you had your lunch?" Keith asked after a while.

"Not yet, we haven't placed our order yet." Alex replied.

"How-

"Are-

"Go ahead." Keith urged Alex when they spoke at the same time.

"I… I was just gonna ask if you ate your lunch already." Alex said meekly.

"Not yet, I have another meeting in ten minutes. Maybe after that."

"Okay."

Once again, both stopped talking and only their breathing can be heard. None of them wanted to end the call and yet neither of them could come up with something to say.

"Alex."

"Yeah."

Keith sighed. It's so hard when they can't see each other face to face. He misses Alex's scent, the way he likes to snuggle his face in his neck. He missed the way Alex's hair brushed against his fingers. He missed every little thing about him.

"Alex."

"Hmmm?"

"I miss you."

Alex instantly cried the moment he heard Keith's words. "I miss you too." He blurted out as his emotions took over. "I miss you so much. Why are you not here? Why did you leave me alone? The bed is too big and I hate it." He uttered in between his sobs. Passers by glanced at him curiously as they heard him cry.

"I'm sorry Alex. It's my fault. You can punch me in the face when I get back. Punch me all you want." Keith said, trying to pacify his crying wife. This is too hard for him, hearing Alex cry and not be able to console him personally. He wanted to hug him badly.

"I can't do that to your handsome face." Alex responded as he continued to weep.

"I didn't know you found me handsome. I guess I should find ways to maintain my good looks. I don't want to upset my equally handsome wife." Keith teased. "Alex please stop crying."

"You better do that." Alex replied, sniffling.

"Do what?"

"Keeping your face handsome because I don't want my baby to have an ugly Dad."

"Alex." Keith choked up as he heard Alex talked about the baby. It's the first time he mentions the baby and it's aroused a different set of emotions inside of him. "Alex." Keith cleared his throat before he continued. "When I get back let's listen to the baby's heartbeat together okay?"

"Yeah, let's do that." Alex replied as he wipes his tears that keeps on coming. "I should really stop crying now but you keep on making me cry."

"I know. I know. I'm really sorry."

"When you get back, apologize to Bean for making me cry."

"Wait who is Bean?" Keith asked, confused.

"Our baby, you idiot. Right now it's still just a small bean. Well that's what they said on the internet." Alex exclaimed, getting annoyed when Keith didn't realize who Bean is.

Keith pinched his temple trying to keep himself from crying. He didn't know he would get this emotional just by hearing Alex say "our baby". He was so worried that Alex hated the idea of having a baby with him that it's making him emotional. If anyone would see him now they would probably think he got some terminal illness or something.

"I love you Alex. I love you and our little Bean so much." Keith said, his voice cracking for a bit.

"I know, so hurry back home."

"I will. I promise I'll see you both soon. Take care of yourself and Bean okay? I love you." Keith said before bidding Alex goodbye, both of them feeling like a weight got lifted from their shoulders.

Alex wiped the remaining tears from his eyes and was totally surprised when someone handed him a handkerchief. His face turned red when he realized Colin was beside him the entire time. He felt so ashamed crying his eyes out like that.

"I'm okay now, we can head back in." Alex said in a hoarse voice. Colin nodded and assisted him back inside the restaurant.

"Hey Alex, what a coincidence. We keep running into each other, it must be destiny. Don't you think?" Dwight said, smiling as they met each other at the door.

Colin clenched his fists as watched the guy briefly touch Alex's hands. He wanted to punch his grinning face right this instant but the brief touched does not count for anything. Dwight looked so harmless and looked like just someone happy to see an acquaintance. He would have thought the same if he didn't know about his past deeds from Sid.

"Seems like you brought yourself a dog. See you around then.." Dwight grinned and left just like that.
