Chapter 68 - 66

Keith leaned back and rested his head on his chair. He should be working now but Alex and Bean is all he could think off. He glanced at his bare desk with nothing but papers and his laptop. His main office looks the same except for the nameplate. He felt like something was missing from it.

"Maybe I should put a picture frame of Alex and Bean once he or she was born." He smiled at the idea though he might just stare at the two of them and not be able to work at all.

Keith sighed, closing his eyes imagining coming home from a tiring day at the office and being greeted by his smiling wife and a very energetic Bean. Bean would jump into my arms as we talked about his day.

His life took a complete 360 ever since meeting Alex. He ignored his mother's cry for him to get married and have children of his own for years. To him, children are just necessity and an obligation for him to produce as he needed an heir to continue their lineage. Same goes for a wife whose only role is to give birth to that heir.

Alex changed him. He made him as someone who wants to give and do everything for his wife. He made him want to have kids. Little kids that would look like Alex running all around his house, calling him Daddy.

Bean hasn't been born yet but he already wants to spoil him or her. It doesn't matter if Bean is a boy or a girl, he just wants to hold Bean in his arms as soon as he can.

"Okay time to work. If I want to see Alex and Bean soon I need to finish all these work." Keith said out loud to himself.

Keith was already on his second document when the door suddenly burst open.

"Martin you don't need to come back. You can just go to your…" Keith could not finish his sentence when he saw the grim expression on Martin's face. His heart starts beating fast, worried for what will come out of his friend's mouth.

"It's Alex."

"What happened to Alex?" Keith asked as fear creeps into his system. Was Alex involved in an accident or something? Is he okay? What about Bean?

Martin sighed. He doesn't know how to break the news to Keith. He was shocked when Sid informed him of what happened.

"Damn it. Speak up or I swear I'll beat you senseless until you tell me what's going on. What happened to my wife?" Keith asked, grabbing Martin's collar. Keith moved so fast that Martin got startled to find his friend already standing in front of him.

"He was assaulted but… arghh they… they were able to get to him before anything else happened. He is on his way now to the hospital." Martin replied, not resisting Keith despite the shortness of his breath.

Keith let go of Martin and almost stumbled on his feet as he backed away from his friend.

"How about Bean?" Keith asked with a dark expression.

"Bean?" Martin coughed as he tried to catch his breath.

"How is my baby? Is Bean safe?" Keith reiterated.

"We don't know yet. They just brought Alex to the hospital."

Keith grabbed his head in frustration. He couldn't believe his wife and child got hurt while he was not with them.

"Who the hell did this?" Keith inquired angrily.

"It was Dwight."

"That bastard." Keith screamed and punched the wall. His knuckles bleed from the impact. The pain in his knuckles is nothing compared to what he is feeling right now. He wanted to kill that bastard with his bare hands.

"Where is he now?"

"He is currently locked up now. Sid already informed your lawyer to file the case against him."

"Make sure to keep him locked up. I don't care who you talked to or who you paid just keep that bastard in prison. I will spend everything I have to bring him down and his family." Keith swore as he clenched his still bleeding fist. He will make sure that bastard Dwight will regret the day he lay his hands on Alex and Bean. "If anything happens to Bean I will kill him with my own hands."

"Wake up Dana and tell her to settle things here. Inform her to fly back as soon as she can. I will need her to fulfill my plans." Keith instructed. "And get the plane ready to leave as soon as possible."

"I already did that. We'll be leaving in an hour." Martin replied. He already informed Dana of the situation as well as the pilot knowing Keith would want to be with his wife as soon as possible.

"Are you sure Alex is pregnant?" Dan asked Colin in between his sobs. He's been crying since they found Alex lying unconscious in the toilet with Dwight on top of him.

"Explain to me what happened?" Colin inquired. He still doesn't understand what transpired. Alex was sure it was Dan who sent the message. Is Dan an accomplice of Dwight?

"Why are you asking me? You were the one supposed to be with Alex. Why are you guys on the tenth floor? Why did you leave him alone?" Dan replied, raising his voice. He doesn't like the tone of Colin's voice. Why does it seem he is accusing him of doing this to Alex? He loves Alex, they are the best of friends. He will never put him in harm's way.

"I apologized. I didn't mean anything." Colin explained, feeling a bit guilty for thinking the worst of Dan. He should get to the bottom of what happened. He's not one to put blame on Dan as he was also at fault for leaving Alex alone.

"Alex received a message from you, saying that you are in your heat cycle and you don't have your suppressants with you. That is why he went to the toilet alone because that is where you said you were waiting and also why I was near the elevator because I can't go near the toilet as I would be affected by your pheromones." Colin explained.

"What? My phone ran out of battery which is why I couldn't ask for help when I got locked up in the Archive Room." Dan stated what happened on his end. "There's no way I could send that message to Alex."

"Can I have your phone?" Colin asked.

Dan handed his phone to Colin and the Alpha asked one of their men to send the phone to Sid for inspection. If his hunch is correct, Dwight must have cloned the phone, installed some application and hidden it from the home screen which is why Dan is not aware that his phone has been compromised.

"Is Alex Andersen's family here?" The Doctor called out from the examination room.

"I'm his bodyguard Doctor and this is his friend. The patient's husband is on it's way here now." Colin explained.

"Can we see him now Doctor?" Dan asked, still crying.

"I will have him transferred to the VIP room afterwards so you can see him already." The Doctor informed them. When they arrived with the patient, the bodyguard asked them to treat the patient in private so they assumed he was someone important, thus he told the nurse to put him in the VIP room.

"Thank you Doctor." Colin expressed his gratitude. He heave a sigh of relief knowing Alex is safe now.

"The baby. Doctor how about the baby?" Dan asked.

"The baby is safe for now, we still have to monitor the mother's condition as he's physically weak due to extreme stress on his body. His face is swollen as well but that should heal in a few days. His body condition suggested that he fell hard on the ground and he must have cushioned his fall with his shoulder. His arms and shoulders are all bruised up and he tore a ligament so we have to put his right arm in a cast." The Doctor explained. "I will refer him to an obgyn to monitor the baby's status. If you'll excuse me."

Dan gasped when he saw Alex's body being carried out of the room. His tears streamed down his face at how pitiful his friend looked.

"It's alright. What is important is they are both safe.." Colin put his arms around Dan as the Alpha urged him to follow Alex.
