54 Isn’t It Livelier This Way?

Yang Yun stood up straight as he took another bite on the barbecued ribs in his hand.

His action made Xiao Liang angrier. He threw his punch recklessly, and Yang Yun evaded his attacks by moving his body slightly to the left and right. Yang Yun took a final bite on the barbecued ribs before he flung the bone to Xiao Liang.

Because Xiao Liang was not expecting this move, the bone hit him right on his forehead.

Xiao Liang paused and stared at Yang Yun in a daze. Only after a few seconds did he felt the pain on his forehead. He touched the painful area and noticed the grease on his finger. Then, he saw the bone just beside his feet. Xiao Liang raised his head and laughed. "Yang Yun! You're dead meat!"

Jiang Xiao Tian turned to his elder brother with a sigh. "Elder brother, you did that on purpose."

"Isn't it livelier this way? Fighting is a way to build a relationship between men." Xiao Xian raised a brow as he glanced at his Xiao Tian. "Should we go for a round or two?"

"I'll pass." Xiao Tian shook his head. He watched the two boys in their fight and said, "Are you sure we should let them fight like this? If Mingyue knows…"

"You worry too much. Didn't we agree that no one would say anything about this?" Xiao Xian spoke before his brother finished. "As for those two… just let them be. Third brother has been staying in the Department of Justice for too long. It has been a while since he practices his martial arts. Sparring with Yang Yun will help him to improve."

Xiao Tian watched the two having a hand to hand combat and started to analyze both Xiao Liang and Yang Yun's technique and skills. "Yang Yun's skills are pretty good." Although he had heard so much about Yang Yun's ability in martial arts, this was the first time he watched him in a fight.

Xiao Xian chuckled. He poured himself a drink and said, "of course. I trained that kid."

"Then what about Xiao Liang? Didn't you train him too?"

Xiao Xian continued to drink. Once in a while, he lifted his gaze to watch the fight between the two boys. "If Xiao Liang could learn to control his temper, he might have a chance to hit Yang Yun."

"I can understand why third brother did not like Yang Yun so much. He is, after all, a kid," Xiao Tian said. "But what about you?"

"If I gave my blessing too early, then wouldn't that kid think it's easy to bully my sister?" Xiao Xian said. He turned around when Fei Liu came over and handed him a plate of barbecued meat.

"Vice General Fei Liu, why don't you have a seat and join us," Xiao Tian patted the empty spot next to him.

Fei Liu bowed. "Apologies. I still have some matters to look after. I will have to return to camp," he said to Xiao Tian. He then turned to the general and saluted. "General. I will return first."

The young general nodded, giving him his permission. Fei Liu then departed with a bag of cooked meat.

Xiao Tian watched his brother in disbelief. Did he call Fei Liu out to help them kidnap Yang Yun and barbecued meat for them?

After a few minutes passed, Xiao Xian turned to his brother with an inquiring gaze. "The matters that His Majesty asked you to investigate, what was it? Is it regarding Princess Lingchen?"

Xiao Tian smiled. "Elder brother, you know that I can't answer to that. It's no use of asking me."

Xiao Xian humphed. "Does it have to do with the candidate prince that His Highness will marry after the spring banquet?" When Xiao Tian did not answer, Xiao Xian downed another cup of his drink. "Forget it, sooner or later, I will found out about it. My network might not as good as yours, but they were not the worst."

Hearing his words, Xiao Tian laughed. "You're worried about Princess Lingchen?"

"Why wouldn't I? After all, she is our cousin." Xiao Xian poured himself another cup and frowned when he realized that the jug is now empty. He sipped the last drop of wine straight from the jug and frowned as he thought of the upcoming spring hunt.
