Chapter 27 Storm

The two arranged to meet at a relatively famous private restaurant, and the owner was one of Xia Yan’s clients.

He had asked Xia Yan to design a necklace for his wedding anniversary. His wife was thrilled to receive the custom-made necklace, improving their relationship exponentially.

Therefore, the restaurant owner reserved a VIP table for Xia Yan and Jiang Tong. He had also promised Xia Yan a VIP treatment every time she went to his restaurant.

As the restaurant grew more popular, Jiang Tong had to call to reserve a seat. Although the owner told them that it was unnecessary, Xia Yan refused to cause trouble for the owner.

The two arrived at the restaurant just in time for the dinner crowd. The waiting area outside was already full at that time. Xia Yan and Jiang Tong walked to the door, greeted the doorman, and entered the restaurant.

Although Xia Yan and Jiang Tong rarely went to the restaurant, the employees knew how their boss treated Xia Yan and Jiang Tong. The doorman smiled and led the two into the dining hall as he called the manager to welcome them.

As Xia Yan and Jiang Tong spoke, they heard a commotion echo nearby. Xia Yan was familiar with the person’s voice. She looked around and saw Qiu Xin.

Xia Yan furrowed her eyebrows and pulled Jiang Tong aside, avoiding Qiu Xin. Although Qiu Xin often pretended to be gentle before the Mo family, she was utterly spoiled and overbearing at the restaurant.

Qiu Xin slammed the front desk and scolded, “There’s an empty table right there! Why won’t you let me in?!”

“I’m terribly sorry, Miss. That table is for VIPs only,” The receptionist at the front desk said apologetically.

“What VIP? I’ve been waiting here for an hour, yet I haven’t seen anyone occupy that table!” Qiu Xin thundered, “Just because your food is famous doesn’t mean you can treat your customers poorly!”

“I’ll expose your restaurant for this! If you don’t let me in, I will…” Qiu Xin continued to yell when a young man who looked like a manager approached her. The man walked to the front desk and glanced indifferently at the noisy Qiu Xin.

Qiu Xin walked toward the manager and pointed at his nose. “You’re the manager, aren’t you? I’ve been waiting here for a long time, yet it took you this long to come out? Do you want to lose your job?”

The manager only smiled and said, “Miss, you can speak to the person at the front desk if you have any issues.”

“I’ve spent an hour at the front desk, yet they still couldn’t give me a table! Aren’t you going to do something about it?”

The manager maintained his professionalism and smiled. “I’m sorry, Miss. We have other customers to attend to. You can report your issues to the front desk, and they will help

you.”

The manager no longer indulged in Qiu Xin’s outrageous behavior and quickly approached Xia Yan. “Miss Xia, Miss Jiang, please come in.” The manager turned to his side with a smile, ushering Xia Yan and Jiang Tong to their seats.

Qiu Xin looked toward the manager and saw Xia Yan and Jiang Tong. She was furious when the manager ignored her just to greet Xia Yan.

Qiu Xin walked up to the manager and stood in his way. “How can this ugly freak enter the restaurant, but I can’t?! Does this restaurant only serve unfortunate people?”

The manager was the first to reveal an affronted expression when he heard Qiu Xin’s insulting words. “Please watch your words, Miss.”

“What? Did I offend you?” Qiu Xin snorted and looked at Xia Yan’s black mask. “It’s not my fault that an ugly freak like her appeared to scare your customers in broad daylight.”

Jiang Tong wanted to push the manager aside and argue with Qiu Xin when she heard her. But Xia Yan pulled her back and didn’t allow her to do so. After all, it was better if she laid low in public.

Qiu Xin thought Xia Yan was afraid, so she became even more unwilling to let her pass. “Even that ugly freak knows that what I said was right! You should leave, just in case your mask slips and you scare the customers away! The owner would cry when that happens.”

Qiu Xin giggled as the other women with her started laughing aloud.
