Chapter 31 Truth

Mo He stared at the phone screen and saw everything that happened in the restaurant. Qiu Xin listened to the argument as her face darkened. She gripped Jiang Qiu’s sleeve tightly, making herself look less guilty.

When Mo He finished watching the video, he glanced at Mo Pei and asked, “Where did this come from?”

Mo Pei revealed a smile and said, “Don’t worry about that. This is the only footage left on the internet. Lu Ping called me and told me someone had recorded something concerning the Mo family.”

“I just realized that the video had already spread across the internet. In just ten minutes, the number of views exceeded one million. I didn’t ask you about it and let Lu Ping handle it.”

“But I saved this footage so you can see it for yourself.” Mo Pei gazed at Qiu Xin as he spoke.

Jiang Qiu didn’t see the video’s contents, but it sounded exactly like the one Xia Yan played. She looked at Mo He and saw that he was tense. Jiang Qiu lowered her head and looked at Qiu Xin, only to see her lowered head.

“What happened, Mo He?” Jiang Qiu looked at Mo He’s ashen expression and asked worriedly.

Mo He restrained his expression and turned to Qiu Xin. “Let’s forget about this and make sure it never happens again.” Mo He finished speaking and quickly walked to his study without waiting for the others to react.

Xia Yan looked at the departing Mo He in disbelief. She wanted nothing more than to run and bite him. Qiu Xin had wronged her, causing Mo He to chase her out of the Mo residence.

Mo Pei brought some evidence involving Qiu Xin, yet Mo He didn’t even reprimand her. Jiang Qiu sighed before prying Qiu Xin’s hand away from her sleeve. She spoke softly, “I’m tired, Aunt Lin. Please follow me to my room.”

Aunt Lin walked forward hurriedly and supported Jiang Qiu, leaving the hall. Qiu Xin remained still while staring at Mo Pei bitterly.

Mo Pei never had a good impression of Qiu Xin, so he looked at Xia Yan instead. “Are you still going to leave us, Xia Yan? How will you ever thank me then?”

Qiu Xin shifted her gaze when she saw Mo Pei looking at Xia yan fawningly. She knew that she had nothing more to say to them, so she walked around them and headed to her room.

Xia Yan watched as Qiu Xin left, mumbling to herself as she recited Quintessence of the Nation.

Mo Pei heard Xia Yan mumbling, but he couldn’t make out what she said. “What are you saying, Xia Yan? Mo Pei curiously asked as he approached Xia Yan, blocking her line of sight.

Xia Yan sighed and looked at Mo Pei. “What did you say just now?”

Mo Pei looked at Xia Yan helplessly. Then he smiled and asked, “I helped you just now. How are you going to thank me?”

Xia Yan looked at Mo Pei and asked, “Are you satisfied with Designer Yan’s work?”

Hearing Xia Yan’s question, Mo Pei’s eyes lit up as he said excitedly, “It’s what I wanted exactly! Designer Yan is indeed the best jeweler out there!”

“The best, huh?” Xia Yan repeated with a smile.

“That’s right! I’ve only heard people say that Designer Yan can grasp the client’s ideas and design a piece of art that is most in line with the client’s imagination! I’ve witnessed it with my very eyes this time,” Mo Pei said excitedly. He was utterly satisfied with the design. “As long as you’re satisfied, nothing else matters,” Xia Yan softly said as she walked away.

Mo Pei saw that Xia Yan was about to leave and hurriedly asked, “Are you still going to leave us?”

Xia Yan gritted her teeth and replied, “Your cousin told me to leave, didn’t he?”

Mo Pei blinked before he thought of something. Then he said, “Grandmother said she wants to meet you. You have to meet her at least once before you leave! How can you let the old lady down when she looks forward to seeing you?”

Xia Yan finally calmed down when Mo Pei mentioned Old Madam Mo.

Seeing that Xia Yan was hesitant, Mo Pei persuaded her, “You can stay here for two more days. Then you can leave after meeting my grandmother.”

Xia Yan nodded and then remembered how Mo Pei had helped her just now. She smiled and said, “I guess I have to thank you for your help just now anyway.”

Mo Pei laughed happily, “You have gorgeous eyes, Xia Yan.”
