Chapter 37 Wasn’t Crippled?

Xia Yan stood rooted in her spot and listened to the nurses’ conversation.

“I heard that the old madam of the Mo family is on the top floor. That handsome man is the young master of the Mo family, right?” A nurse said with a face full of anticipation.

“I wonder which young master he is!”

“In any case, that man can’t possibly be the current head of the Mos.”

“I heard that he got injured and crippled a few years ago, but the man we’re talking about is elegant and handsome. He’s probably another one of the Mos’ young masters.”

The nurse felt that it was a little strange as she spoke.

“But most of the Mos’ young masters have appeared before the media. Except for the disabled Mo He.”

“Y-You’re right… This all seems a little strange.”

The two nurses chatted as they walked further away from Xia Yan.

Xia Yan frowned, and after some consideration, she got into the elevator and walked toward the garden on the top floor. Xia Yan saw Mo He standing beside a wooden chair when she arrived.

Meanwhile, Qiu Xin looked up at Mo He aggrievedly. Although Xia Yan didn’t catch them snuggling, the “beautiful couple” that the nurse mentioned earlier was probably the people in front of Xia Yan.

Xia Yan narrowed her gaze as she saw Qiu Xin stand up and approach Mo He.

“Can you stay with me for a while, Mo He?” Qiu Xin revealed an aggrieved expression and looked like she was about to cry.

However, Mo He remained expressionless. He stood with his back facing Qiu Xin. “Thank you for taking care of Grandmother.” “Of course. It’s something that I’m obligated to do.” Qiu Xin lowered her head slightly. “I-I’m willing…”

Mo He nodded and said, “Get some rest. If you need anything, you can ask Liao Chen for some assistance.” Mo He then prepared to leave.

Qiu Xin hugged Mo He tightly from behind. “Mo He, can you stay with me for a little longer? Just a little while. I have been getting nightmares ever since the accident. I haven’t been sleeping well. I really want you to stay with me!”

Mo He furrowed his eyebrows as if trying hard to control his thoughts. After taking two deep breaths, he pried Qiu Xin’s hands away from his chest and said, “You haven’t recovered fully yet. Get some rest.”

Mo He didn’t wait for Qiu Xin to reply before hurriedly walking out of the garden.

Xia Yan was shocked. She looked left and right before locating a hidden partition to hide behind.

Mo He left in a hurry as Xia Yan turned around to look at Qiu Xin again. She saw Qiu Xin’s hands suspended in mid-air with a saddened expression, looking resentful.

Xia Yan sighed and quickly left the garden on the top floor behind the partition. When she arrived at Old Madam Mo’s ward, she saw two bodyguards standing at the door. Xia Yan was about to go up and greet them when someone grabbed her arm.

“What are you doing here?” Jiang Qiu stared at Xia Yan’s face as she asked sternly. “I heard that Old Madam Mo was in the hospital, so I came to visit her,” Xia Yan said in neither a servile nor overbearing manner.

“We don’t need you here!” Jiang Qiu immediately looked at Aunt Lin. Seeing this, Aunt Lin walked forward and pulled Xia Yan.

Xia Yan grabbed Aunt Lin’s wrist and said, “Let’s talk, Mother-in-law. Since I’m careless, I might accidentally break Aunt Lin’s wrist. Then how will she serve you in the future?”

Jiang Qiu’s expression turned unsightly as she glared at Xia Yan. “Let go of her!”

Xia Yan didn’t hesitate and immediately let go. Auntie Lin grabbed her wrist with a pained expression. Xia Yan raised her chin and looked at Jiang Qiu. “I’ll take my leave since you don’t want me here.”

Xia Yan walked around Jiang Qiu, took two steps, and then stopped. “I heard people saying that there’s a young master of the Mo family who is in love with a girl, staying in this hospital. I wonder who that young master and girl are. I also heard that they are a beautiful couple, snuggling and sleeping together…”

Xia Yan turned and smiled at Jiang Qiu as she spoke. “If someone spread this rumor, I wonder if others would talk about the Mo family’s young master’s extramarital affair.”

When Xia Yan finished speaking, she quickly left without waiting for Jiang Qiu’s reaction.

Jiang Qiu stood still as she furrowed her eyebrows. “Go and find out which fool is spreading such ridiculous rumors!”

Aunt Lin hurriedly bowed and accepted the order.

Jiang Qiu walked toward Old Madam Mo’s ward and suddenly stopped. She turned around and walked toward a different ward. “Let’s go see Qiu Xin first.”

Aunt Lin kept close to Jiang Qiu as they went to Qiu Xin’s ward.
