“Isn’t that so? Professor Su is President Fu’s fiancée.” The male assistant had not noticed the cold aura emanating from Qin Xiangwan yet. “I also heard that they’re getting married next month.”

For a moment, Qin Xiangwan forgot to breathe as her mind went blank.

The male assistant’s voice continued, “… Professor Su and President Fu have known each other for five years and only got engaged recently. I heard that the Fu Corporation values this wedding very much and invited all the famous people in the capital to attend. Everyone is very envious of Professor Su, and it is said that she and President Fu were childhood friends.”

“Childhood friends?” Qin Xiangwan interrupted him sarcastically and sneered coldly. “Did Fu Beiting say that? Go and tell Professor Su’s assistant that I will never meet her. We’ll never work together, even in our next life.”

Her resolute and decisive words made the male assistant come back to his senses. When he looked up and saw Qin Xiangwan’s cold expression, he was instantly stunned.

Wen Ruoye could also tell that something was wrong with Qin Xiangwan. She quickly signaled the male assistant to leave.

“That woman is Su Xinyue?” Wen Ruoye was shocked. “Your ex-husband is Fu Beiting?”

Qin Xiangwan nodded. The piercing pain in her heart surged up once again.

Five years had passed, and she had escaped the Fu family in the name of “death”. With the help of her university mentor, she had gone overseas to study medicine. She studied hard and spent all her time studying medicine, trying to let her busyness wash away her pain.

But at the end of the day, when Su Xinyue and Fu Beiting’s names were mentioned five years later, she still couldn’t forget them.

“Xiangwan!” Wen Ruoye stretched out her arms and hugged Qin Xiangwan tightly. Her eyes were red.

Her heart genuinely ached for Qin Xiangwan. She had seen all the hardships that Qin Xiangwan had gone through in the past five years.

Qin Xiangwan let her hug her for a while and smiled. “It’s alright now. The past is in the past. Who I am today is different from who I was five years ago.”

“But Su Xinyue is so vicious. She caused you to suffer so much. We can’t let her have it easy,” Wen Ruoye said indignantly.

Qin Xiangwan’s gaze was slightly cold. “Don’t worry, I’ll personally make sure Su Xingyue pays for it.”

She had returned to the capital not only to study medicine, but more importantly, she was here to take revenge.

For the past five years, she thought about her baby who had died tragically night and day.

Qin Xiangwan turned around and said gratefully, “Thank you, Ruoye.”
