"Stop!".
"Hey" I awoke to a soft dry voice whispering something I didn't hear, to my ears, face inches away from mine, breathe warm, and I felt warmth as I breathe in the air that lifted something heavy off my c.h.e.s.t.
I nestled closer as he patted my arms lightly before he responded by wrapping his arm around me, lifting my head to lay on his shoulder, putting me in a more comfortable position than I was.
Suddenly the air became rough and I choked, my c.h.e.s.t hurt, and I feel sick as the moment before which seemed to have reignited an ache in my heart the moment my mind traveled back to the incident before. I jerked, trying to open my closed eyes. All I saw was a shadow bearing Cuba's face, holding me so tight as I tried to pull free. "Get off me! ". I yelled asleep. My voice sounded weak and tiny.
"Shhh, Lara, it's just a dream," he whispered to my ear, his voice soothing and comforting as it sank into my head and. My eyes began to close slowly as he removed the hair on my face with the tip of his fingers.
He blew slowly onto my face, patting me on the back, and then rubbing my hands. I felt comforted as I peacefully eased back into a beautiful deep lighter sleep.
...
The next I opened my eyes was early dusk,
The headache had gone, and my strength had returned. I felt wholly sound and relieved to see that the body I laid beside all night was Steven's and was more glad as it occurred to me of my location to be in a small tent with Steven, partially with Steven's group. I knew in my mind that I would have screamed if I happened to have woken up in my group camp location...
Though I had little memory of what happened transpired between Cuba and me last night, my mind hadn't processed the details, I was pleased by that and I tried as much as I could to not resonate the awful memory but to shove it down somewhere deep so it would not spoil the rest of my day.
My c.h.e.s.t heaved with emotion when Steven's hand moved to lay my shoulders as we were sleeping side by side, those memories flashed back, in a way that I felt goosebumps. I shivered a little and then turned to face him, I was close enough to see through him. As I moved his hand to lay on him, while I lay still, admiring his closed eyes and the way his nostrils flared up as he breathed.
I heaved a sigh and turned from him as I couldn't concentrate, the moment I tried to shift my mind the more I lost. How could it? when it had already happened, tingling my head.
I moved and lay on my side as I pondered on what to do next. Should I return back to the camp or just stay here or just head home. I need a hot bath and I need my dad, I need to be in a place that wouldn't remind me of what could have happened to me.
I felt tears and turned, again and again, the mattress had suddenly become bumpy and my back sores. I made to sit, as much as I needed someone to talk to, I didn't want to wake Steven so I made to head out.
"Hey". I heard his light voice. "You alright?".
"Yeah". I said and grabbed my boots. I pulled off the shirt I didn't know I was wearing over my head and grabbed my dress that was laid on a chair inches from the mattress, the dress smelt fresher than I'd remembered, it was the dress I was wearing the day before... He must have washed it. I smiled and turned to him as I smelled the fresh scent once again.
"Where are you going?". He asked sleepily.
"To get some air". I said and dashed off before he'd request to join me though I knew he wouldn't because his question wasn't really asked by him but the sleepy him.
The sky was still dark as I walked through the narrow path, the early morning breeze blowing my hair and dress as I walked.

I was glad for the little walk I had, as it helped calmed my mind. I was more relaxed and in a better mood than the one I was in before.
I had arrived back at the camp. I walked to where the tent I lay before, As I made to enter, I heard a voice, moving closer, I noticed the voice to be Christy's coming from the place I'd just left.
I didn't want to think what my mind was pointing at, at first, but the more I walked, the louder the m.o.a.ning sound and and...
The next, I saw myself turning and hurried to my heels, I didn't know where I was running to, I was just running to wherever the path leads to.
I tripped over a hidden fallen tree branch that I didn't see, the fall sent me flying.
I yelped in pain as I couldn't feel my feet, it had become sore and lumped immediately and It hurts so bad that I didn't know which one hurts the most, was it my heart or my feet that has now reddened as I removed my boots, fanning and blowing it with my hand and mouth.
All I knew was that both of them hurt and I couldn't move. I pulled my legs to my c.h.e.s.t and buried my head in between my legs and wept. There were no visible tears but deep down I was crying inside, I was hurting, I felt empty and foolish.
I heard a wheezing matching sound and when I raised my head to check what was making the sound. Light faded.
