"Because he is running away from me!"
Rose and Samuel came to a halt.
Rose turned towards the voice while Samuel stood still facing the opposite direction. His body physically tensed causing Rose to worry.
Who was this man?
Rose assessed the man standing at the top of stairs, it was the same man from the portrait just slightly older. His tall and firm body and stature seemed like he was in his late forties. With short slick Auburn hair with black roots clearly not his natural colour.
"You must be the crowned Queen Rose." The man said as he proceeded down the stairs.
Hearing the man approach Samuel Automatically turned around dragging Rise behind him.
"Why so jumpy? Don't tell me you didn't miss me?" The man was now standing in front of them.
Rose chose to keep quiet because Samuel seemed on edge.
"So you're behind this?" Samuel finally spoke surprisingly calm but his grip on Rose said otherwise.
"Is that anyway to greet your elders? My brother must have not thought you well." The man said walking across the room to pour himself a drink.
'brother? Oh.... Could he be 'The Disowned Zhou Heir? But that would mean he was close to sixty-five' Rose thought without interupting, she was actually relaxed she seems to be having fun.
"Young lady, would you like a drink?" The man asked looking towards Rose.
"Before Samuel could answer no, Rose had already walked round him and towards the man.
"I'd love one, are you Samuel's uncle?" Rose directly asked. Samuel was now right behind Rose in a defensive pose.
Giving Rose a curious look the man answered, "yes I am. But I doubt that's the name you know me by."
"People called you The disowned Zhou heir." Rose answered pissing Samuel off the more. Why wasn't she scared or at least at alert, she was acting like it was a regular day and she was meeting his family.
'Crash'
"Disowned? No! I left, that old father of mine decided one day that I wasn't good enough for him, I was his first son but he discarded me like I was a rag. And that brother, who did he think he was?" Samuel's uncle, Albert seemed to get rules up by the mention of his reputation.
"So you tried to ruin his daughter after she came back?" Rose asked.
Albert began to laugh, Rose's question seems to humour him.
"Let me tell you a secret." Albert said as he leaned towards Rose. "I took her." He whispered before continuing his laughter. "And they decided to showered her with everything that should have been mine. This is were stupid Ruby comes, a surgery is still fresh but she longed for that Ning boy and who was I to stop her. My plan was going fine till she messed it up by falling for your tricks." Albert was no longer laughing
"It was nice chatting with the two of you, you make a nice couple, shame I have to kill you." Albert suddenly brought out a gun. "I might as well tell you another secret, I didn't mean for my men to kill my grand niece."
As he finished speaking realization dawned on Samuel he turned to look at Rose who had frozen. He leaped for Albert but was stopped when Albert raised his gun and took the safety off.
'Bang! Bang!'
