The two cats that were capable of communicating remained in the depths of the bunker.
Evidently, both of them were supercats and they were probably the only ones in the district. Their superior intelligence naturally elevated them as the leader in the district.
One of them was a tri-colored female cat. Black, white and brown patterns were printed all over her body.
The other cat had a body full of orange fur. However, one of his eyes were permanently shut and was most probably partially blind.
The one-eyed cat scrutinized Fish Ball from head to toe before breaking into chortles. He exclaimed, "Meowhaha, Chrysanthemum look! This ability is so cute!" The one-eyed cat was on the verge of joining the gang of cats in chasing after the light.
The tri-colored cat, which was referred to as Chrysanthemum, spoke condescendingly, "Do you take us for fools? You want to be the king of this district using that pesky little power of yours?" She slowly got on her four feet and stared at Fish Ball with a look of disdain. She sniggered, "Haven't you heard about our leader, king Hanada?"
"King Hanada?"
Fish Ball and Noodle's eyes met before they broke down into waves of laughter.
"Hanada? King? What a lame name. I never expected anyone to give themselves such a stupid title?" Fish Ball clutched his belly while he fell to the ground in laughter.
Noodle wagged his paws in Chrysanthemum's face and sniggered, "Are you really that desperate to even bother mentioning this kind of name? You have already lost!" Noodle had difficulty completed his statement as it was interrupted by his constant cackling.
A vein popped out in Chrysanthemum's neck and her temple throbbed with fury. Her pupils constricted as she death-stared the husky and American Shorthair standing opposite her.
The incessant laughing was only interrupted when Chrysanthemum opened her mouth, "The title of King Hanada is closely related to the district which we all live in, Handa district. This is the reason behind his title. All the kings of the various districts in Jiangmen city are named as such. Do you have any objections to this custom?"
"Oh, so this is how it works." Fish Ball lowered his head in embarrassment and started grooming the fur on his groin. Then, he announced, "No matter what, Noodle Boss will be the leader of this district from today onwards. Your only option is to submit to his reign and be his loyal servants."
"Do you feel anger pulsating through your body? However, your rage is futile." The husky waved his paws in Chrysanthemum's face and sneered, "Honestly speaking, the difference between you and me is beyond what you can possibly imagine. We are worlds apart …"
"Worlds apart!" Fish Ball cheered along in unison.
The husky shut his eyes before shaking his head in despair, "Do you even know how weak you are as compared to me? Never mind, I'm afraid your puny brain will never be able to comprehend the difference between you and me. It's impossible for you to realize just how strong I am with that brain of yours."
"Cannot understand how strong Boss Noodle is!" Fish Ball repeated.
"That's enough, Fish Ball." Noodle gave a dismissive wave of his hand in embarrassment and said, "You do not have to repeat everything I say."
Noodle continued explaining, "There are only two important words in my dictionary, conquer and destroy. I will annihilate the opponent standing in front of me, regardless of their abilities or strength."
Noodle clenched his fist in dramatic fashion before announcing in his most solemn voice, "Join me in becoming the ruler of this world and leave our mark in the history books, or you can choose to be banished from this district and be forgotten forever. You have a choice."
Chrysanthemum glanced at the one-eyed cat before letting out a deafening shriek. She immediately got to her feet and spat in Fish Ball's direction.
Fish Ball bit back a scream as he narrowly avoided Chrysanthemum's spit attack. The spit lay on the floor before vaporizing into green fumes, leaving behind a trail of burnt marks.
Fish Ball was enveloped in both anger and fear as he reported, "Boss, this cat's saliva is venomous."
"Move aside, let me take care of her." The husky took a step forward and blocked Fish Ball from her sight. His eyes met Chrysanthemum's as he sniggered and announced, "Understand the meaning of despair! Without even using my true strength, the both of you will …"
While he was exaggerating his claims, he was actually speaking to Nekomata telepathically, "Nekomata, follow my actions and destroy them! Make it as cool as possible!"
After making his grand speech, the husky bolted towards the two cats and roared at the top of his lungs.
…
…
…
The two supercats were wary of the husky's ability. However, the attack which they had imagined never materialized. They tilted their heads and stared at each other in disbelief before sweeping their eyes back on the husky.
Noodle, himself, was equally confused. He put on his most menacing look and pinned them down with his eyes. He continued barking in an attempt to instill fear.
"Woof! Woof! Woof!"
"Nekomata, what are you waiting for?"
After approximately a minute of pure barking, even Noodle himself could not handle the embarrassment. The fear on the two cats' face slowly evaporated and was replaced with a menacing smile.
"I'm so sorry but I really need to go to the toilet now." Noodle took a deep breath and mumbled a few words, "I'll be back." Immediately, he dashed out of the bunker with his tail between his legs.
Chrysanthemum sneered at this sight and cocked her head towards the one-eyed cat, "Scar Eye, your turn."
Scar Eye watched the pair of cat and dog escape after making their impudent speech and bellowed, "The two of you … Bastards!"
His words punctured the air and rang in Fish Ball and Noodle's ears. Suddenly, both Fish Ball and Noodle froze before turning their head around in unison. They stared at Scar Eye furiously as anger thundered through their bodies.
Immediately, they changed their tracks and bolted towards Scar Eye like a lunatic. They began growling, barking, and biting at Scar Eye.
However, all their attacks were to no avail. There seemed to be an invisible armor enveloping Scar Eye's body which was shielding him from the attacks. Nothing was working.
"Hmph, this is my ability." Scar Eye bellowed with laughter as he stared at the pair of cat and dog. He thought, "As long as I infuriate my opponent using words, they will lose control over their body and start attacking me. The extent of the anger will determine the strength of my armor and the duration of the control."
He sniggered, "Now! Chrysanthemum! Take them out now!"
"Understood!" Chrysanthemum stretched open her mouth and started flooding the pair of cat and dog with her saliva. Every drop of saliva would burn a portion of their fur and scald their skin.
Three seconds later, Noodle and Fish Ball finally regained consciousness and control over their bodies.
"Why did we even attack him?" This thought flashed through their heads simultaneously. Before they could react to it, they were already screaming in pain.
"Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!"
"So hot! So hot! So hot!"
Both Noodle and Fish Ball had experienced the devastating impacts of Chrysanthemum's abilities and cowered in fear when they saw her getting ready for the next onslaught. Fish Ball immediately ran to a corner while Noodle took a step forward and roared in her face.
"F*ck your mum!" Suddenly, Scar Eye's voice once again rang in their ears.
Three seconds later.
"So hot! So hot! So hot!"
"Boohoo!"
"Quickly run now!" The cat and dog exclaimed as they bolted towards the exit.
"F*cking cowards!"
Instantly, the pair returned with an unprecedented anger pumping through their bodies.
The surrounding cats gather around to observe this spectacle.
Scar Eye and Chrysanthemum finally decided to take a break after rounds of manipulation.
Scar Eye cleared his throat and spoke in his raspy voice, "Now, do you understand King Hanada's power?"
Meanwhile, Chrysanthemum was gulping down bottles of water as the previous attack had left her throat all dry. She felt as if her throat was on fire.
In front of them laid Noodle and Fish Ball. Both of them were already exhausted from the ordeal. Their entire body was covered with bald patches and burnt fur. They looked as if they had been raped by a mammoth.
Noodle's body locked up with rage as he stared at the duo who destroyed him, but all he could do was sob.
Suddenly, Nekomata's voice once again rang in his head.
"Haish, I knew that the both of you would not be able to survive without me."
