11 The Disappointmen

I was reeling from the out of body experience when the village head asked me to stand up. I turned back to see the villagers milling around talking and my mother looking at me smiling.

"Gan, the ceremony is over lets go to my hut and talk." said the chief.

I wordlessly followed them, after reaching the hut the village head started lecturing me about the gift.

"Gan everyone in our village have their unique gifts. You will also learn about your gift instinctually. You have already reached your 15 blooms, so you can select a place in the village to construct your own hut. Your hut alone will be constructed without anything in exchange but you have to repay them in the future. Once you learn your gift you can barter for other necessities. Till you learn your gifts you can work in the Ilphyr Orchards. Go talk with khulan about constructing your hut.Come to me after you learn about your gift. Light bless that it is something useful for the village. "

Me and and my mother then thanked the chief and went out of his hut. My mother just patted me on my back and sent me out to meet Khulan.

All my anticipation sunk as i learned that everybody has to learn their gifts themselves.I still wanted to ask them about the crystal tree but kept quiet as my mother didn't mention anything of that sort while describing the ceremony. I sighed and started walking back towards the village. After asking for directions from a tall women I found Khulans hut.

He turned out to be a short pale guy with black hair and a thin body. He took one look at me and asked me where I have to construct my hut. I thought about it but I still wasn't comfortable staying inside the village, So i asked him to construct my hut halfway between my mothers hut and the village.

He said that makes the job easy as it is the shortest distance to the outskirts of the village from where the sand for the construction is taken. I thought that must be one of the reasons my mother has her hut there as well.

He then gave me big clay container and asked me to fill it with sand and dump it in the place where i hut has to be constructed. I inwardly cursed

" Off course what did i expect from this people. It is going to be a back breaking labour".
