June didn't keep her end of the deal. Well she tried but end up receiving a phone call that prevented her from helping him right then and their. Then the next time he tried to talk to her Marion and Misty had a question about something. Gray just walked away fed up with it. He went to room and study the notes he had before and did a quick purchase on his PokeGear for some other things of intrest.
2 days later everything sort of hit the fan so to speak.
"Come on let's battle!" Marion said excited. She wanted fight using everything she learned in the last few days to practice. Gray was the perfect fight companion.
Gray sat with his food in his mouth and kept on chewing. He ignored her completley.
"I think your to chicken to fight me again. This time I wont hold back." Marion continued to say trying to taunt him. It didnt work.
Everyone else just watched in silence. "Last time they tried to intervene Gray used Empress to teleport them all 50 miles away from him. It took Sabrina a few minutes to recollect everyone.
Sabrina was annoyed but left it alone. She felt Gray's frustration but felt the control of physic training shoot up several levels. At one particular instance Empress almost evolved again But Gray had stopped that immediately. With a little discussion they both agreed it wouldn't be right for her just yet.
This was the third morning Marion had bothered Gray at breakfast. Considering he was the first to rise followed by Brock who cooked for everyone else made her more enthused to fight him. Hray woke every more stretched with his Pokemon, bathe those who needed one, and cooked a meal for each of them.
He declined Brock's cooking each time. Whenever he was asked why he did so, Gray responded "because I can do it myself and I dont know him personally. I wont let my Pokemon get fed by someone I cant trust. And I dont trust him." His aura and the bubbles told him not to allow his Pokemon to be fed that way so he didnt.
Feeling annoyed by the girls voice, Empress unravelled her tail and grabbed the girl by the neck. The next second they both were gone.
"What did you do?" Misty asked. Gray ignored her. Empress returned with a smile. She finished her meal. Gray stood up to leave not really saying anything. He was talking to Growlithe about his world.
"What did you do Gray?" June asked next. Gray ignored them all and walked away returning his Pokemon when noticed they had all finished as well.
""I think he is upset." Jacob said next. 'Oh wait, Sabrina where did she go?' He looked around and didn't spot any trace of her.
"Swoosh," Sabrina teleported back with Marion. The girl was completely unharmed. A little angry but unharmed.
"Where did you all go?" Jacob asked. "No, I mean where did you find her?"
"He went off that way?" Misty pointed. She then noticed she could no longer see Gray in that direction. "At least I thought he did."
"He is that way." Sabrina said after her eyes stopped glowing. "I dont think Gray is ok with what is going on at all. I thought he was joking but.. I believe I am wrong."
"Let me talk to him." Ash said.
"You are the worst choice to talk to him." Said Sabrina. She then teleported away.
"Ahh he is very uncompromising." Said June. "I dont see this ending well at all." Grabbing her things she started a conversation with Chroma. 'What should we do?'
'I think we should wait till they get back. I dont think Gray likes traveling with all these people. Or maybe he thinks it will get in the way of things.'
'How do you figure.' June thought back.
'Gray made that deal with you remember. But who else just benefited from it the last few days? Both Ash and that girl Marion. He feels cheated most likely.' Chroma thought something else and immediately informed her partner hastily. 'Ah his memories. I think he is in a rush to learn how to get stronger for something that is coming. It is one of the reasons he agrees so easily to some of your tests.'
'He shouldnt though.' June looked back in the distance. 'I.. I dont think he would leave because of what happened the last few days. Would he?'
'Shouldnt he?' Chroma thought back with an amused tone. 'With that deal, you and Gray became close. He allowed you to see deep into his mind. That has to mean something even to you June. Then they started asking you a bunch of question preventing him from talking to you one on one as well.'
'But I am a professor it is my job to help spread the information.' June said defensively.
''Then the deal with Gray has no value then.' Chroma then spread her aura in a single direction. 'Sabrina has caught up with him.'
'I can still give him certain information. Just need to pay more attention is all next time.' June tried to figure out how to fix the situation.
'I doubt that will work, but go for it. He may smile a lot but he is quite cold hearted when he wants to be. I think he wont make deals with you in the future.' Chroma lulled inside June before she stopped. 'Gray likes you June. It is definitely as a woman and as a researcher. He kind of wants you to himself when you are teaching him. That is just my analysis.' Chroma then became silent as she concentrated on Sabrina. 'His aura is mostly dark in nature. They dont like to share...'
'What is it? Why are you so quiet all of a sudden?' June asked not likening the pause.
'It's Gray. He is gone.' Chroma said slightly depressed.
"What do you mean Gray is gone?" June said out loud shocked. Everyone else looked at her wanting to ask what happened. They didnt notice the cold aura Jacob produced.
Appearing right in front of Gray, Sabrina was surprised he just sidestepped her and continued to walk.
"What are you doing?"
"I am walking on my journey what does it look like?" Gray said giving her his same old smile.
"Why did you do that? Why are you still walking on? Stop when people are talking to you." Sabrina felt weird. 'Ori what is this?' She panicked a little mentally.

"Walk and talk Sabrina. We do it all the time." Gray spun and waved her on. "Since when did you need to stop and talk. Next thing you know, you are going to say dont chew bubblegum and walk."
Ori appeared in her Espeon form. She released her physic energy to turn Gray around. "Gray stop!"
"Oh, alright." Gray stopped in his tracks and looked at the two. Resisting Ori would be stupid. "Well what is it?"
"Are you going to continue to act like a child?" Sabrina said frustrated.
Ori's eyes went wide as she looked at her. 'That was definitely the wrong thing to say.' She transmitted to her partner.
"What the.. hell did you just say?" Gray went from just being annoyed to full on anger next. "In what way am I a child?" Gray walked up to her and got right in her face.
"I.. didn't mean." Sabrina went silent.
"I removed my self from a situation that would have gotten bad and I am a child for it? I dont want to travel with Ash or that child. I said that already over the last few days. If you want to, that's fine by me. He is getting in my way! I cant afford that!"
"But we were a decent group. A good possible team." Sabrina said trying to point out some good merits. "Groups work things out."
"Sabrina we talked about it. We want different things. I am not going to argue about it. You guys think having them with us is good. I dont. You want to travel all the way north with them to go see a cave. I want to travel east to fight different Pokemon." Gray felt he was right. So his position would not change. "What do you want from me here? I figure this as the best option. Why travel with a person who doesnt want to go with you to a place they have no interest in."
"Tch, I just want you to travel with us. I dont want you going off on your own!" Sabrina said. Ori tried to calm her down with no real luck.
'Sabrina you need to take a deep breath. The blessing of the twins is affecting you teo.' Ori watched as the power grew in strength heighting the emotions of the to. Well mostly Sabrina. She was to closed off and was effect by it already.
Gray pushed everything to the side. Well except his anger that is. He didnt want this outcome. But he refuse to have to put up with their antics any longer. He was to old for crap like that.
'You should stop Sabrina. He has made up his mind.'
"If you get bored and want to talk, just call me.
That's what phones are for. Heck you can just teleport to me." Gray said with a small smile creeping back up.
"It is not the same and you know it!" Sabrina felt her chest tightened more. "I dont want to separate from you!"
"Sabrina... you will make friends easier with them. I think anyway. Just trust yourself a little more." Gray pulled back and was going to walk away when she grabbed his sleeve.
"No!" Sabrina had a determined look in her eye now. "Fight me. If you win you can go. If I win you stay!"
'You have made this worse!' Ori said from next to her. 'You just gave him an ultimatum.'
"Empress!" With that Gray turned to Sabrina. With the build of energy from her, Gray thought of a bad idea. "Let's end this on a good note."
'Sabrina move away now!' Ori yelled but it was to late.
Gray had leaned towards her and used Disable. With her frozen in place, he gave her a kiss on the cheek and smiled. "Was really tempted to plant one on those lovely lips... but that felt wrong. See you later Sabrina I am pretty sure Ori can keep anything from happening to you."
Just like that Gray teleported far away. He arrived using his max distance away with his teleport powered up. He didnt know where he was but it didnt really matter. Releasing Growlithe he got ready for some intense battling and bonding.
"So we are far away from the others?" Growlithe asked.
"Yes. So let's get to it." Gray said looking at the pup.
"Sure thing lets fuse first." Growlithe bumped his head to Gray and they fused instantly. A mystery dungeon opened up next and they walked inside. Coming through the other side Gray felt the pressure.
"Huff, huff what is this place?"
'A place to train Gray. A place for us to become stronger than we are now. A place we can die if we are to weak..' Growlithe transmitted from inside the link.
'Something is coming!' Empress alerted them.
She said just in time as Gray jumped back. Right where he stood a few Trapinches broke free from the ground. At least five of them chopped hard enough that Gray would have lost a possible limb.
"Those little shits!" Gray opened his mouth and fired an Ember. The dark fire bullet broke right through one of his attackers foot causing it to slide across the dirt. It stood up enraged. The others burrowed back underground. Gray knew they didnt leave thanks to his abilities. When the next one burst from the ground he moved his foot back far enough that it missed. Bringing his heel straight down it made a sickening crunch sound
"Crruunch," Gray had shattered the things head killing it.
"This is exactly what I need!" Gray said excited. "Come on!" He said bellowing. "Entertain this old man! Make me feel alive!"
Gray pushed his physics out knocking the Trapinches away. Just like that a battle ensued as a swarm came from the ground.
A blue pearl appeared from out of nowhere and watched.
