Walking to the gate he was stopped by the guards. Growlithe stepped forward and flared its aura. One of the Marowak stepped forward and placed its bone in front of Growlithe. the bone took on a red glow before turning green.
"You may enter. Welcome back." The Marowak stepped back and gestured to the others. They must head to the statue and become acquainted with the city."
"Right," Growlithe barked happily. He looked to Gray and the rest. "Let us go, the statue should still reside in the same place.
Walking around the town Gray thought it funny how the place reminded him of a military country. There was petty crime that was dealt with. A few Cubone would take thieving people and Pokemon into custody once they were captured. Tossing them into a steel card aligned with weird gems.
They went pass a mart where Gray caught sight of a few Miltank guarded by a few Tauros as they sold their milk.
The place was crowded and a weird uneasy feeling was in the air. Gray knew this feeling. It was that of people that were trying to go on with their lives. Despite a skirmish or war going on. Clyde and Pyron flew ahead and came back from further ahead.
Murkrow landing on his shoulder and Pyron flying overhead. Gray watched as Pyron flew better and was more agile.
"These people are at war?" Gray asked aloud. Murkrow on his shoulder nodded.
"Yes, territory disputes. The same as most places. Just not enough land to go around. Then again here is but.. a lot of Pokemon dont wish to give up their lands without something in return." As if realizing something Clyde turned to Gray with a serious expression. "You are the leader of the Moltres territory. Care to help them and these Pokemon out?"
"How so?"
"The lands here to the North are great for your bird Pokemon. If you can get the ruler here to agree to offer those lands, the bird Pokemon would have more room to grow. In return, the fertile harsh lands your bird Pokemon have can be given to the beast Pokemon and ground types here." Clyde said trying to set up a deal.
"That is fine. They will agree to it. The old Moltres ruled as a tyrant. So they have no choice in the matter really. Considering how I need to set some things up there anyway for them to grow..," Gray paused thinking about what to do with the territory. "Yes, that will work fine for them. They need the room and we need an ally to help with things in the future. Set something up with the leader. However, they cannot have the land. They can sort of rent it. Seeing how overpopulated this place has become, we have the upper hand. There are quite a few Pokemon that are in my territory that need this opportunity to head out and spread their wings as it were."
"Pyron go with him. Try not to get an army coming after us this time." Gray looked to Growlithe and saw it staring.
"Got it, dude," Pyron said flying to catch up with Clyde.
"You are not gonne let go what happened for a while are you?"
"Nope," Gray said shrugging his shoulders. "Let's go. We still need to get approval from the statue. Or do you still want to show me about some of the trouble going on in the city?"
"Hehe," Growlithe chuckled. "So you knew what I was going? That is good Shows you are still sharp. Yes, let us go to directly to the statue now. As for getting approval from the leaders that will be easy. You just need to win in the arena today. There are other fighting areas as well. So everyone can compete."
"Ahhh, I will pass," Empress said. "I am going to sleep." With that she entered Gray.
"That is fine just remember not to fight with her in the arena." Growlithe said over his shoulder. As they walked and talked the group stopped at a big statue in the square. In the center was a huge Arcanine. A few of the other statues were almost unrecognizable. "Step forward."
Midnight jumped forward and was engulfed in light. Next was the pokeballs of the few Pokemon Gray was not gonna use himself. Such as Mesprit and Vileplume. No sense in not getting them marked as well.
Collecting the pokeballs, Gray stepped forward himself. A bubble appeared to his front. Seeing no harm he just agreed to it. When he did so, a bit of aura washed out of him into the broken parts of the statue. The aura circled all over and returned to him. The square lit up and as several of the broken pieces restored according to Gray's will.
Stepping away, Gray stop as he mumbled words he never remembers reading. The floating words started lighting up as he mumbled them.
(United we stand, strong and true, the power of one will see us through.)
'What in tarnation is this. Why does this give me the same feeling when I watched the Pokemon 2000 movie?' While Gray was lost in thought, he missed the glowing eyes of the Arcanine statue. A bit of the aura in it went to Growlithe who stopped moving and stared at Gray.
Bits of the other statues finally became visible. A few of the Eevee Evolutions were visible. A Nidoking and Nidoqueen stood to the left of Arcanine. On the right stood a Kaghaskhan, by its feet Marowak could be seen. The light show stopped as several Pokemon looked at the statues. Some were still damaged. Gray just didnt have enough aura power to restore them all completely. He stared at one of the broken statues still. It gave him a funny feeling.
"That is the statue of the traitor!" Growlithe said snarling. "Glad you didnt restore that one. I dont think anyone here would have been ok with that." As the pup looked at Gray, he noticed that his smell was stronger once again. 'Who are you, Gray? You are smelling more and more like us by the day.'
"That was something else entirely," Gray said shaking his head. "Hmm, I wanna go to the market and restock before I forget. Then we can go and check out the rest of the place before we go and fight in the arena." Stopping Gray realized he should learn the laws right quick. "I need to learn what is allowed and what isn't right quick."
"No need. You know them already. Just think about it." Growlithe said as its paw scratched at its ear. "Scrrch, scrrch," gray stared at him did what he said and realized he was right.
Then Gray realized the hygiene in this place needed to be addressed. The overcrowding might have played a part. "Yeah, you might need a flea bath with all the grim around here?" Pick up some of the dirt Gray found it odd when a bubble appeared.

'What in the world? Oh, wait a minute.' Visions and knowledge started to play in Gray's head. 'Arceus is the corruption that is plaguing this place. Why dont I like that Pokemon? Matter of fact I really want to kill it.' Walking forward slowly he spotted a few Pokemon with that same affliction. 'Can I even do something about this?'
(Trainer already has. Restoration of the statues will heal them in time. The more afflicted Pokemon will take longer. Your aura can cleanse them faster but it will make you weaker. Recommend to gain the blessing of more Pokemon to gain a stronger aura.)
'Well I was already doing that.. so got it. If I spread my aura out and around will it work?'
(Correct. Would you like to do so automatically?)
'Fine. I will need to rely more on my psychic power to help me anyway. Hopefully, this will help with my training.'
(Low level of aura leaking outward. Psychic energy used in place of aura.)
(Trainer Has started a region Quest. Clearing the corruption of Arceus. Rewards vary.)
Gray felt the immediate change in his body. The dark aura dwindles as his psychic power grew more over him. Empress flew out of him and went into Gale.
"Your eyes changed color," Gale said from the side of him. "They are a pinkish purple now. How nice." The Scyther had turned his talons to that of a human. She grabbed his face and brushed his cheek.
"Soon. Just wait... a little more." Gray said instinctively. Something grabbed his attention further ahead.
'Told you he had the hots for yah. Heheheh your in deep trouble.' Empress said laughing from inside her.
'I will believe when I see it. How are you doing with this anyway? I noticed you have spent a lot more time inside of him lately.' Gale thought back. Looking at where Gray was going she followed along with Growlithe and Midnight.
'I need to sleep. I am growing stronger every day. This little body can not contain my power. So I have to keep pushing to become stronger. Speaking of sleep. I think I will continue my nap actually.' Just like a drop of a dime, Empress went to sleep in Gale. Gale felt a large increase in her mental abilities.
Gray came across a cage with a few Pokemon inside them. He was surprised to receive a prompt from his Poke Gear. The watch folded out over his fused state with no problem.
(Pokemon Medical/Breeder Mission Professor Oak has sent word about a small plague afflicting Pokemon. Any help in curing it is appreciated. Opened to all personnel regardless of rank.)
Gray responded back on what he knew to the message. Right as he sent it, the watched showed a red signal. It may or may not have gotten out. His bubbles showed him a message right after.
(Trainer has helped with a global epidemic across multiple dungeons. Dark aura and Dragon aura are the only strong enough auras to handle the affliction on its own. If trainer succeeds in his task information will send to other trainer's and the Elite League to help distribute the cure.)
'Dang couldn't get that lucky.' Gray grinned as he kneeled in front of the cage. "Hey Gale can you and Growlithe go and but a few quick supplies. I and Midnight will stay here and treat these Pokemon as best we can."
"Of course Gray," Gale said. Growlithe thought for a second before agreeing as well. Taking the founds from Gray they went on their way.
For the next few hours Gray just helped in the area. At some point, an old Marowak took notice and gave him some help and pointers. She taught him a method to help cycle aura better. The ability reminded him of Tricia's in a way. Thinking about her Gray felt his body heat up before it settled down.
The old Marowak flinched and gave Gray a lustful look and smiled. Looking him over she caught sight of his form. With a nod of her head, she went back to work.
When the others came back Gray noticed Growlithe looked a little anxious. Finding out what bother him Gray thought it best to let him go run around. Midnight went with him. They didnt leave before Growlithe informed Gray of the arena location.
"So Gale just us, caret to continue as my help or would you like to go have fun in town?" She decided to stay near Gray. As the work continued it was getting quite late. "One more patient and we will go find a place to stay."
Arriving at another cage Gray found the worst Pokemon yet. It was a Nidoran that skin had turned white. The affliction level was the highest he had seen.
(Nidoran Corruption 79%)
"Damn the last one I decide to treat happens to be the most difficult one." Looking down at the Pokemon Gray could only help alleviate some of its pain. "I will come back for you I swear."
The Nidoran just tilted its head. Closing its eyes it dozed off. 'I have heard that before.' It thought.
"Hah, time to go to bed." Looking at Gale he watched her nod. The two left and walked off towards a hotel. The receptionist was another Caterpie person. Well, this one was a male at least. 'Do they function like the Nurse Joy and Jenny clans? Haveing members at hotels' and restaurants?'
"Hello," he greeted happily. Giving Gray a once over his smiled bloomed. It was more genuine now. "The doctor that helped restored the statutes. Thank you for that." With that, he gave a bow. "How long will you stay with us?" Reaching over he grabbed a small laptop, shocking Gray a little. There had been small bits of technology here and there but nothing too extraordinary.
"I think for two or three days. I plan on fighting in the arena tomorrow." Gray said thinking about it a little.
"Ah of course. A doctor and a fighter. How nice." The Caterpie man pecked away on the keyboard and then took out a wand that moved over Gray's pokegear. It beeped and gray acknowledge the prompt. "It is a shame you missed the Martial Grand battle. But you are in luck, here for the title match."
"Title match?"
"Yes. The winner gets a title from the rulers. Gives the young warrior a chance to gain glory and recognition."
"Sounds fun." Gray grabbed the key card and gave the spare to Gale. Heading to his room, he sent a few mental messages to Growlithe about where they were staying.
'Ok, I am going to show Midnight around the place. Shoe him the Beast nightlife."
'Beast nightlife?' Gray was slightly stumped. 'How does he know where to go?'
'Yeah. He has never been?'
